2017 ZVS operation of DAB converter based on triple-phase-shift modulation scheme with optimized inductor current
abstract
The dual active bridge (DAB) topology has been widely used in the industrial field, especially when bidirectional power transfer is required. However, the efficiency improvement of DAB converters is facing challenges and it is worthwhile devoting much effort to it. This paper presents a novel model based on the triple phase shift (TPS) modulation scheme to improve the efficiency of the dual active bridge (DAB) converter. According to the documentary proposed analytic expressions of six different modes of DAB converters, the constraints of zero voltage switching (ZVS) is achieved to further improve the efficiency of DAB converters. It is theoretically verified that almost full ZVS operation range for all the switching devices and quasi-minimum RMS value of the inductor current can be achieved for two operating modes. Finally, the simulating results from MATLAB/Simulink and the experimental results based on a hardware prototype were presented. By comparing the efficiency of the proposed all-ZVS operation and SPS operation, it can be concluded that the experimental results confirm that the novel proposed all-ZVS strategy can decrease the switching loss and increase the efficiency of the DAB converter simultaneously, which verifies the theoretic analysis.

2011 A Testbed and Methodology for Comparing Live Video Frame Rate Control Methods
abstract
Most existing methods for video frame rate control were developed for prerecorded video. With the proliferation of mobile audiovisual communication devices, it is becoming important to develop frame rate control methods for live (i.e., not prerecorded) video as well. In this letter, we present a testbed and the corresponding methodology suitable for comparing such methods. We illustrate the methodology and the use of the testbed through comparison of an existing state-of-the-art frame rate control method against a simple new control method developed specifically for live video.

2003 MVSS: An Active Storage Architecture
abstract
This paper presents MVSS, a storage system for active storage devices MVSS offers a single framework for supporting various services at the device level. It provides a flexible interface for associating services to a file through multiple views of the file Similar to views of a database in a multiview database system, views in MVSS are generated dynamically and are not stored on physical storage devices. MVSS represents each view of an underlying file through a separate entry in the file system namespace. MVSS separates the deployment of services from file system implementations and, thus, allows services to be migrated to storage devices. The paper presents the design of MVSS and how different services can be supported in MVSS at the device level. To illustrate our approach, we implemented a prototype system on PCs running Linux. We present results from example applications implemented on the prototype and discuss a variety of architectural issues including mixed workloads.
