2022 SDN-enabled Framework for Resilient Traffic Routing in 5G Networks
abstract
In the 5G transport network, the router has some limitations in traffic engineering. In response to the diverse needs of the 5G mobile network, the SDN-enabled framework is introduced, which collects network topology information in a centralized way and analyzes network information for network path computation. In this paper, we proposed an SDN-enabled framework that is capable to provide resilient traffic routing for 5G application requirements. To verify the framework, we simulated a production scale network topology as input. Then, we leveraged K-Shortest Path Algorithm using different constraints to experiment the flexible traffic routing.

2022 Double-layer access network architecture for intelligent building services
abstract
A double layer access network architecture that provides Internet and Intranet for smart building services. The Internet provides network services, and the Intranet provides information exchange for private devices. At the same time, it supports dual-rate design, so there is no need to replace the device when the user rate is upgraded. This architecture simplifies network device requirement and improves sustainability. This paper mainly discusses the construction of audio-visual services on the optical fiber access network and the improvement of the provision method in the community, and service requirements can be flexibly adjusted.

2014 The design and performance of the hybrid access network for FTTH bottleneck areas
abstract
It is the development trend of the current carriers to enhance the rate of broadband services. The FTTx+VDSL2 access network is one of the best choices for the broadband access network, and migrating to the FTTH access network. It may be difficult to build the fiber into/in the house for some situation, such like the ful-filled line pipe and the decoration issues. The carriers have to introduce new methods or technologies for higher rate to form a hybrid access network in the FTTH bottleneck areas. In this paper, we had investigated the various technologies and architectures that could provide high speed access network and enlarge the coverage of the broadband service, including VDSL2 bonding, vectoring, G.fast, G.hn. Furthermore, we also proposed the test technologies and results to verify these technologies.

2014 Quality of service test mechanism and management of broadband access network
abstract
As the growth of digital home application, the quality of service (QoS) of network is a very critical issue and influences the satisfaction of end users to enjoy the desired service, especially for real-time sensitive service. It is important for service provider to verify the actual QoS parameters, such as delay, jitter and packet loss are satisfying the service requirement of their customers. The popular method to check the QoS is using ICMP ping function to gather the QoS parameters, but results in the precision argument and lacks of one-way information for IPTV downstream flow. The other issue is how to activate the QoS test function for the large scale CPEs (Customer Promise Equipment). In this research, we propose a QoS test mechanism at home gateway to exclude all factors of home networking. The proposed approach integrates the TR-069 remote management methodology to increase the scalability to activate the proposed QoS test action for a large number of home gateways. We illustrate the implementation and integration procedure of the proposed test approach and TR-069 mechanism of the managed home gateway. We also execute the proposed test by TR-069 management server, and comfirm its accuracy. The proposed mechanism provides a convenient way for the service providers to clarify the service quality of subscribed lines of broadband access network, and decreases the complaint and increases the satisfaction of their customers.

2012 A light-weight periodic data collection approach of TR-069 managed CPEs
abstract
As the growth of digital home application, more and more Customer Premises Equipments (CPEs) will be managed by TR-069 CPE remote management protocol. It is important to monitor the device status and analyze the statistics information of CPEs in a regular interval. A data collection mechanism is to transfer the system information from the CPE to a data collector. The data collector is used to receive and analyze collected data from CPEs. The most popular data collection method, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Trap needs to mapping SNMP OID and TR-069 management data model for TR-069 managed CPEs. Broadband Forum specifies bulk data collection of CPE in WT-232 document, a mechanism that supports Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) consumes a large of system resource of data collector to maintain the connections with all of the managed CPEs. In this research, we propose a light-weight periodic data collection mechanism which uses one-way Trap with XDR (eXternal Data Representation) encoding format specified in WT-232, and transferred from the CPE by UDP which is considered as a light-weight transport protocol. We also illustrate the implementation and integration procedure for the proposed data collection and TR-069 mechanism of the managed CPEs. The proposed approach reduces the traffic loading of the data collector for a great quantity of TR-069 managed CPEs with well-defined TR-069 data model parameters. This proposed mechanism has the light-weight advantage compared with SNMP, and eliminates the troublesome matter for mapping SNMP OID and data model of TR-069 managed CPEs.
