| 2026 | Everyone is a product manager: MAUX, a multi-agent framework for democratized user experience designabstractAs user experience (UX) increasingly shapes the value and usability of digital products, enabling non-designers to transform their ideas into coherent UX outcomes remains an important yet challenging problem. Despite advances in AI-assisted tools, UX design still requires cross-stage reasoning across strategic, structural, and interface layers, which is often unsupported by existing systems. To address this gap, this study proposes MAUX, a layered multi-agent UX framework that structures and coordinates design reasoning through goal-driven workflows. MAUX operationalizes the five classical UX layers (strategy, scope, structure, skeleton, and surface) via LLM-driven agents grounded in human–computer interaction principles. A blackboard architecture coordinated by a Meta-Agent maintains semantic consistency across stages, enabling systematic progression from initial intent to interface realization. The framework is demonstrated through the design of Urban AirLink, a conceptual low-altitude mobility platform, and evaluated against four LLM-based baselines in a controlled user study ( N = 50 ). Results show that MAUX significantly improves design quality, structural clarity, and cross-layer goal alignment compared to baseline approaches. These findings highlight the potential of MAUX to support reasoning-centered and democratized AI-assisted UX design. Yiteng Sun 0001, Fan Li 0015, Danni Chang, Zhuorui Zhang |

| 2024 | A stylized generation approach for poster background graphic design based on light elementsabstractWith the increasing popularity of e-commerce, product poster design plays a vital role. To meet the demand for fast, efficient, and diversified design needs, automated poster design has become one of the important research directions. This work investigates the stylized generation of background graphic design based on light elements. Particularly, the research summarizes the characteristics and functions of light elements used in poster design, determines the generation parameters and rules of light elements referring to the principles of photographic lighting, then matches the color of light elements with the theme color of the product, and identifies the generated backgrounds best matching users’ semantic needs. Particularly, BP neural network was employed to realize the selection of the high-quality background designs. Based on the above procedures, a platform of poster generative design system based on light elements was developed. To validate the performance of the design platform, usability tests and comparative experiments were conducted, and the results show that the generation approach can better improve the poster design quality and efficiency. | 2022 | The Trusted Listener: The Influence of Anthropomorphic Eye Design of Social Robots on User's Perception of TrustworthinessabstractNowadays, social robots have become human's important companions. The anthropomorphic features of robots, which are important in building natural user experience and trustable human-robot partnership, have attracted increasing attention. Among these features, eyes attract most audience's attention and are particularly important. This study aims to investigate the influence of robot eye design on users’ trustworthiness perception. Specifically, a simulation robot model was developed. Three sets of experiments involving sixty-six participants were conducted to investigate the effects of (i) visual complexity of eye design, (ii) blink rate, and (iii) gaze aversion of social robots on users’ perceived trustworthiness. Results indicate that high visual complexity and gaze aversion lead to higher perceived trustworthiness and reveal a positive correlation between the perceived anthropomorphic effect of eye design and users’ perceived trust, while a non-significant effect of blink rate has been found. Preliminary suggestions are provided for the design of social robots in future works. Xingguo Zhang, Zinan Chen, Zhanxun Dong, Zhenyu Gu 0001, Danni Chang |

| 2022 | BUDDY: A Companion Product Design for Alleviating Parent-Child Separation AnxietyabstractWhen children firstly enter kindergarten, parent-child separation anxiety usually happens and may affect both parents’ and children’s lives. This is a common problem in parent-child relationship, especially in China. To tackle the problem, the study carried out i) a deep understanding of separation anxiety based on user research methods; ii) the generation of an innovative interaction design consisting of a physical toy accompanying children directly and an interactive software enabling the communication between children and parents; and iii) formal user tests to verify the usability and effectiveness of the proposed design. Particularly, BUDDY, a companion product was developed with advantages in unique animal shape design, the interaction strategy of communication in staggered time, and the integration of fairy tales to form the narrative interaction framework. With such design, it is expected to effectively relieve the separation anxiety of children and parents, and meanwhile reduce the overdependence of each other. Yuning Qian, Danni Chang, Yinru Sun |
