2024 Analyzing the Correlation Between Sleep Duration and Heart Rate Variability Index Using ECG Big Data
abstract
The purpose of this research is to clarify the influence on the lives and health of older adults. The influence of sleep time on heart rate variability (HRV) in older adults was investigated using ECG and 3-axis acceleration data collected from the Allostatic State Mapping by Ambulatory ECG Repository (ALLSTAR) big database. The subjects are older adults (more than 65 y.o.), and the data was recorded from 2019 to March 2021. The number and mean age were 2019 (n=23547,76 ± 6 y.o.), 2020 (n=25402,76 ± 6 y.o.), and 2021 (6205,76 ± 6 y.o.). Lying rate (%) was calculated using 3-axis acceleration and grouped into subjects with long and short sleep time. HRV indices were calculated from 1-day ECG data. As a result, RRI increased (P<0.001) and the low frequency power of ULF, VLF, and LF significantly decreased or decreased trend in the long sleep time group than the short sleep time group. A decrease in LF/HF was also observed. It is suggested that long hours of sleep-in older adults who are less daily activity may decrease HRV.

2017 Life Style Modification by Peer Monitoring of Physical Activity
abstract
We investigated whether peer monitoring of daily activities among a group of workplace colleagues will help to improve their daily physical activities. Peer monitoring of actigraphic data did not affect significantly exercise energy consumption or step count. It rather reduced the time of physical activities >3 Mets and increased heart rate during working hours. Peer monitoring of actigraphic among workplace colleagues may cause complicated psychologic effects and may not improve physical activities.

2016 Physical and Psychophysiological Impacts of GPS Labor Management in Nursing Home Workers
abstract
Labor management based on global positioning systems (GPS) has become popular. To investigate the stress caused by GPS-labor management system, we studied its physical and psychophysiological impacts in nursing home workers. Despite that the use of GPS-labor management did not change physical activity it caused a reduction in heart rate and increases in parasympathetic indices of heart rate variability, which may be consistent with sustained alert response.

2013 Towards Semi-Automatic Identification of Functional Requirements in Legal Texts for Public Administration
abstract
There is a need for the development of systems that are compliant with laws in public administration, because their administrative activities are based on laws. When new laws are made or existing laws are amended, however, civil servants need to develop or modify the systems in the short time before the laws are issued. Related work in requirements elicitation from the legal texts includes approaches using ontology but there are difficulties in building an ontology for practical use. In this paper we propose pre-defined templates with the expression of functional requirements to identify legal texts, including their functional requirements, and a support tool consisting of two functions, one for automatic summary creation from complicated legal texts and one for the suggestion of the legal texts, including their functional requirements. We have also applied this approach to Japanese laws and have evaluated its accuracy. Our research revealed that using this approach can identify functional requirements with high accuracy.

1994 Statistical paging area selection scheme (SPAS) for cellular mobile communication systems
abstract
This paper proposes a new paging scheme called statistical paging area selection. The network pages mobile station (MS) by paging a sequence of areas in a predetermined order based on either the location statistics collected and reported by the MS or on a temporary location registration in the MS. The simulation example based on a simple model shows several fundamental performances of this scheme.>

1974 On the Packet-Interleaved Interface Between Packet-Switched Network and Computers
abstract
This paper describes a study of transmission control procedure for computer-to-computer and computer-computer-to-terminal communication through a public packet-switched network. Four types of basic data link are defined over a packet travel path in the network, and the functions required for the data link are discussed. A process number and its associated control method are proposed as a method of packet-interleaved communication. By applying the result of the discussion and introducing the concept of a data link and a process number, a transmission control method and a call control method between packet-switched network and computers are proposed for the packet-interleaved communication on the basis of the HDLC procedure (high-level data link control procedure).
