2025 Multiple Time Scale Cooperation Optimization of Regional Multienergy Systems Based on Distributed Model Predictive Control
abstract
The multienergy systems (MES) can improve energy utilization efficiency through cascading energy utilization and have broad applications. However, the variation of different energy flows in the MES has multiple time scale characteristics, which affect the stable operation. Moreover, centralized optimization in large-scale energy systems is limited by communication pressure and computational burden, hindering rapid response to system. To overcome these challenges, a multiple time scale distributed model predictive control optimization strategy is proposed in this article. First, an energy imbalance model considering different time scales is proposed. Then, a communication network topology between intelligent agents is established. Furthermore, a supply–demand balance optimization model based on model predictive control is developed, while the dual decomposition and gradient method are adopted to achieve the distributed solution. Finally, a multiple time scale scheduling mechanism is designed to enable distributed cooperation optimization of different time scales. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is demonstrated through various simulation scenarios, such as load changes, communication interruptions, plug-and-play, and scalability testing.

2021 Cross-Oilfield Reservoir Classification via Multi-Scale Sensor Knowledge Transfer
abstract
Reservoir classification is an essential step for the exploration and production process in the oil and gas industry. An appropriate automatic reservoir classification will not only reduce the manual workloads of experts, but also help petroleum companies to make optimal decisions efficiently, which in turn will dramatically reduce the costs. Existing methods mainly focused on generating reservoir classification in a single geological block but failed to work well on a new oilfield block. Indeed, how to transfer the subsurface characteristics and make accurate reservoir classification across the geological oilfields is a very important but challenging problem. To that end, in this paper, we present a focused study on the cross-oilfield reservoir classification task. Specifically, we first propose a Multi-scale Sensor Extraction (MSE) to extract the multi-scale feature representations of geological characteristics from multivariate well logs. Furthermore, we design an encoder-decoder module, Specific Feature Learning (SFL), to take advantage of specific information of both oilfields. Then, we develop a Knowledge-Attentive Transfer (KAT) module to learn the feature-invariant representation and transfer the geological knowledge from a source oilfield to a target oilfield. Finally, we evaluate our approaches by conducting extensive experiments with real-world industrial datasets. The experimental results clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approaches to transfer the geological knowledge and generate the cross-oilfield reservoir classifications.

2021 Denoising Distantly Supervised Named Entity Recognition via a Hypergeometric Probabilistic Model
abstract
Denoising is the essential step for distant supervision based named entity recognition. Previous denoising methods are mostly based on instance-level confidence statistics, which ignore the variety of the underlying noise distribution on different datasets and entity types. This makes them difficult to be adapted to high noise rate settings. In this paper, we propose Hypergeometric Learning (HGL), a denoising algorithm for distantly supervised NER that takes both noise distribution and instance-level confidence into consideration. Specifically, during neural network training, we naturally model the noise samples in each batch following a hypergeometric distribution parameterized by the noise-rate. Then each instance in the batch is regarded as either correct or noisy one according to its label confidence derived from previous training step, as well as the noise distribution in this sampled batch. Experiments show that HGL can effectively denoise the weakly-labeled data retrieved from distant supervision, and therefore results in significant improvements on the trained models.

2021 Knowledge-based Review Generation by Coherence Enhanced Text Planning
abstract
As a natural language generation task, it is challenging to generate informative and coherent review text. In order to enhance the informativeness of the generated text, existing solutions typically learn to copy entities or triples from knowledge graphs (KGs). However, they lack overall consideration to select and arrange the incorporated knowledge, which tends to cause text incoherence. To address the above issue, we focus on improving entity-centric coherence of the generated reviews by leveraging the semantic structure of KGs. In this paper, we propose a novel Coherence Enhanced Text Planning model (CETP) based on knowledge graphs (KGs) to improve both global and local coherence for review generation. The proposed model learns a two-level text plan for generating a document: (1) the document plan is modeled as a sequence of sentence plans in order, and (2) the sentence plan is modeled as an entity-based subgraph from KG. Local coherence can be naturally enforced by KG subgraphs through intra-sentence correlations between entities. For global coherence, we design a hierarchical self-attentive architecture with both subgraph- and node-level attention to enhance the correlations between subgraphs. To our knowledge, we are the first to utilize a KG-based text planning model to enhance text coherence for review generation. Extensive experiments on three datasets confirm the effectiveness of our model on improving the content coherence of generated texts.

2021 Multi-Turn Video Question Generation via Reinforced Multi-Choice Attention Network
abstract
Video question generation is a challenging task in visual information retrieval, which generates questions given a sequence of video frames. The existing methods mainly tackle the problem of single-turn video question generation, but single-turn conversation usually can't meet the needs of video information acquisition. In this paper, we propose a new framework for single-turn VQG, which introduces attention mechanism to process inference of dialog history. And we introduce selection mechanism to choose from the candidate questions generated by each round of dialog history. In the framework, we leverage a recent video question answering model to predict the answer to the generated question and adopt the answer quality as rewards to fine-tune our model based on a reinforced learning mechanism. We also introduce a new task of multi-turn video question generation (M-VQG), which is generating multiple questions based on dialog history and video information to build conversation step by step. Our method achieves the state-of-the-art performance of the single-turn VQG task on two large-scale datasets, YouTube-Clips and TACoS-MultiLevel, and provides a baseline approach for M-VQG task.

2020 Knowledge-Enhanced Personalized Review Generation with Capsule Graph Neural Network
abstract
Personalized review generation (PRG) aims to automatically produce review text reflecting user preference, which is a challenging natural language generation task. Most of previous studies do not explicitly model factual description of products, tending to generate uninformative content. Moreover, they mainly focus on word-level generation, but cannot accurately reflect more abstractive user preference in multiple aspects. To address the above issues, we propose a novel knowledgeenhanced PRG model based on capsule graph neural network (CapsGNN). We first construct a heterogeneous knowledge graph (HKG) for utilizing rich item attributes. We adopt Caps-GNN to learn graph capsules for encoding underlying characteristics from the HKG. Our generation process contains two major steps, namely aspect sequence generation and sentence generation. First, based on graph capsules, we adaptively learn aspect capsules for inferring the aspect sequence. Then, conditioned on the inferred aspect label, we design a graph-based copy mechanism to generate sentences by incorporating related entities or words from HKG. To our knowledge, we are the first to utilize knowledge graph for the PRG task. The incorporated KG information is able to enhance user preference at both aspect and word levels. Extensive experiments on three real-world datasets have demonstrated the effectiveness of our model on the PRG task.

2020 A Rigorous Study on Named Entity Recognition: Can Fine-tuning Pretrained Model Lead to the Promised Land?
abstract
Fine-tuning pretrained model has achieved promising performance on standard NER benchmarks.Generally, these benchmarks are blessed with strong name regularity, high mention coverage and sufficient context diversity.Unfortunately, when scaling NER to open situations, these advantages may no longer exist. And therefore it raises a critical question of whether previous creditable approaches can still work well when facing these challenges. As there is no currently available dataset to investigate this problem, this paper proposes to conduct randomization test on standard benchmarks.Specifically, we erase name regularity, mention coverage and context diversity respectively from the benchmarks, in order to explore their impact on the generalization ability of models. To further verify our conclusions, we also construct a new open NER dataset that focuses on entity types with weaker name regularity and lower mention coverage to verify our conclusion. From both randomization test and empirical experiments, we draw the conclusions that 1) name regularity is critical for the models to generalize to unseen mentions; 2) high mention coverage may undermine the model generalization ability and 3) context patterns may not require enormous data to capture when using pretrained encoders.

2006 Image Watermarking based on Genetic Algorithm
abstract
In order to improve the robustness and imperceptibleness of the image spread spectrum watermark algorithm, a new approach for optimization in 8times8 DCT domain using genetic algorithm (GA) was proposed. GA was used to choose the AC coefficients, which were modified to embed the spread spectrum watermark. The bands were varied to find the most suitable for image with different characteristics. Performance improvement with respect to existing algorithm is obtained by GA adaptive global search. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm yields a watermark that is invisible to human eyes and robust to various image manipulation, and show that some special positions are the best choices for embedding the watermark. The authors also compare their experimental results with the results of the previous work of others
