| 2025 | OSV: One Step is Enough for High-Quality Image to Video GenerationabstractVideo diffusion models have shown great potential in generating high-quality videos, making them an increasingly popular focus. However, their inherent iterative nature leads to substantial computational and time costs. Although techniques such as consistency distillation and adversarial training have been employed to accelerate video diffusion by reducing inference steps, these methods often simply transfer the generation approaches from Image diffusion models to video diffusion models. As a result, these methods frequently fall short in terms of both performance and training stability. In this work, we introduce a two-stage training framework that effectively combines consistency distillation with adversarial training to address these challenges. Additionally, we propose a novel video discriminator design, which eliminates the need for decoding the video latents and improves the final performance. Our model is capable of producing high-quality videos in merely one-step, with the flexibility to perform multi-step refinement for further performance enhancement. Our quantitative evaluation on the OpenVid-1M benchmark shows that our model significantly outperforms existing methods. Notably, our 1-step performance (FVD 171.15) exceeds the 8-step performance of the consistency distillation based method, AnimateLCM (FVD 184.79), and approaches the 25-step performance of advanced Stable Video Diffusion (FVD 156.94). | 2025 | Lumina-T2X: Scalable Flow-based Large Diffusion Transformer for Flexible Resolution GenerationabstractSora unveils the potential of scaling Diffusion Transformer (DiT) for generating photorealistic images and videos at arbitrary resolutions, aspect ratios, and durations, yet it still lacks sufficient implementation details. In this paper, we introduce the Lumina-T2X family -- a series of Flow-based Large Diffusion Transformers (Flag-DiT) equipped with zero-initialized attention, as a simple and scalable generative framework that can be adapted to various modalities, e.g., transforming noise into images, videos, multi-view 3D objects, or audio clips conditioned on text instructions. By tokenizing the latent spatial-temporal space and incorporating learnable placeholders such as |[nextline]| and |[nextframe]| tokens, Lumina-T2X seamlessly unifies the representations of different modalities across various spatial-temporal resolutions. Advanced techniques like RoPE, KQ-Norm, and flow matching enhance the stability, flexibility, and scalability of Flag-DiT, enabling models of Lumina-T2X to scale up to 7 billion parameters and extend the context window to 128K tokens. This is particularly beneficial for creating ultra-high-definition images with our Lumina-T2I model and long 720p videos with our Lumina-T2V model. Remarkably, Lumina-T2I, powered by a 5-billion-parameter Flag-DiT, requires only 35% of the training computational costs of a 600-million-parameter naive DiT (PixArt-alpha), indicating that increasing the number of parameters significantly accelerates convergence of generative models without compromising visual quality. Our further comprehensive analysis underscores Lumina-T2X's preliminary capability in resolution extrapolation, high-resolution editing, generating consistent 3D views, and synthesizing videos with seamless transitions. All code and checkpoints of Lumina-T2X are released at https://github.com/Alpha-VLLM/Lumina-T2X to further foster creativity, transparency, and diversity in the generative AI community. | 2025 | VividPose: Vividly 3D-driven Stable Pose Diffusion of High Facial FidelityabstractHuman image animation aims to generate a video from a static image by following a specified pose sequence. Existing methods typically adopt a multi-stage pipeline that separately learns appearance and motion, leading to appearance degradation and temporal inconsistencies. To address these issues, we propose VividPose, an innovative end-to-end pipeline based on Stable Video Diffusion (SVD) that ensures superior temporal stability. To enhance the retention of human identity, we propose an identity-aware appearance controller that integrates additional facial information without compromising other appearance details such as clothing texture and background. To accommodate diverse human body shapes and hand movements, we introduce a geometry-aware pose controller that utilizes both rendering maps and skeleton maps. Extensive qualitative and quantitative experiments on the UBCFashion and TikTok benchmarks demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance. Furthermore, VividPose exhibits superior generalization capabilities on our proposed in-the-wild dataset. Our project page is available at https://kelu007.github.io/vivid-pose. | 2025 | UniAff: A Unified Representation of Affordances for Tool Usage and Articulation with Vision-Language ModelsabstractPrevious studies on robotic manipulation are based on a limited understanding of the underlying 3D motion constraints and affordances. To address these challenges, we propose a comprehensive paradigm, termed UniAff, that integrates 3D object-centric manipulation and task understanding in a unified formulation. Specifically, we constructed a dataset labeled with manipulation-related key attributes, comprising 900 articulated objects from 19 categories and 600 tools from 12 categories. Furthermore, we leverage MLLMs to infer object-centric representations for manipulation tasks, including affordance recognition and reasoning about 3D motion constraints. Comprehensive experiments in both simulation and real-world settings indicate that UniAff significantly improves the generalization of robotic manipulation for tools and articulated objects. We hope that UniAff will serve as a general baseline for unified robotic manipulation tasks in the future. | 2025 | SKT: Integrating State-Aware Keypoint Trajectories with Vision-Language Models for Robotic Garment ManipulationabstractAutomating garment manipulation poses a significant challenge for assistive robotics due to the diverse and de-formable nature of garments. Traditional approaches typically require separate models for each garment type, which limits scalability and adaptability. In contrast, this paper presents a unified approach using vision-language models (VLMs) to improve keypoint prediction across various garment categories. By interpreting both visual and semantic information, our model enables robots to manage different garment states with a single model. We created a large-scale synthetic dataset using advanced simulation techniques, allowing scalable training without extensive real-world data. Experimental results indicate that the VLM-based method significantly enhances keypoint detection accuracy and task success rates, providing a more flexible and general solution for robotic garment manipulation. In addition, this research also underscores the potential of VLMs to unify various garment manipulation tasks within a single framework, paving the way for broader applications in home automation and assistive robotics in the future. | 2025 | Foundation Cures Personalization: Improving Personalized Models' Prompt Consistency via Hidden Foundation KnowledgeabstractFacial personalization faces challenges to maintain identity fidelity without disrupting the foundation model's prompt consistency. The mainstream personalization models employ identity embedding to integrate identity information within the attention mechanisms. However, our preliminary findings reveal that identity embeddings compromise the effectiveness of other tokens in the prompt, thereby limiting high prompt consistency and attribute-level controllability. Moreover, by deactivating identity embedding, personalization models still demonstrate the underlying foundation models' ability to control facial attributes precisely. It suggests that such foundation models' knowledge can be leveraged to cure the ill-aligned prompt consistency of personalization models. Building upon these insights, we propose FreeCure, a framework that improves the prompt consistency of personalization models with their latent foundation models' knowledge. First, by setting a dual inference paradigm with/without identity embedding, we identify attributes (e.g., hair, accessories, etc.) for enhancements. Second, we introduce a novel foundation-aware self-attention module, coupled with an inversion-based process to bring well-aligned attribute information to the personalization process. Our approach is training-free, and can effectively enhance a wide array of facial attributes; and it can be seamlessly integrated into existing popular personalization models based on both Stable Diffusion and FLUX. FreeCure has consistently shown significant improvements in prompt consistency across these facial personalization models while maintaining the integrity of their original identity fidelity. | 2025 | EnerVerse: Envisioning Embodied Future Space for Robotics ManipulationabstractWe introduce EnerVerse, a generative robotics foundation model that constructs and interprets embodied spaces. EnerVerse employs a chunk-wise autoregressive video diffusion framework to predict future embodied spaces from instructions, enhanced by a sparse context memory for long-term reasoning. To model the 3D robotics world, we adopt a multi-view video representation, providing rich perspectives to address challenges like motion ambiguity and 3D grounding. Additionally, EnerVerse-D, a data engine pipeline combining generative modeling with 4D Gaussian Splatting, forms a self-reinforcing data loop to reduce the sim-to-real gap. Leveraging these innovations, EnerVerse translates 4D world representations into physical actions via a policy head (EnerVerse-A), achieving state-of-the-art performance in both simulation and real-world tasks. For efficiency, EnerVerse-A reuses features from the first denoising step and predicts action chunks, achieving about 280 ms per 8-step action chunk on a single RTX 4090. | 2024 | Density Matters: Improved Core-Set for Active Domain Adaptive SegmentationabstractActive domain adaptation has emerged as a solution to balance the expensive annotation cost and the performance of trained models in semantic segmentation. However, existing works usually ignore the correlation between selected samples and its local context in feature space, which leads to inferior usage of annotation budgets. In this work, we revisit the theoretical bound of the classical Core-set method and identify that the performance is closely related to the local sample distribution around selected samples. To estimate the density of local samples efficiently, we introduce a local proxy estimator with Dynamic Masked Convolution and develop a Density-aware Greedy algorithm to optimize the bound. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of our approach. Moreover, with very few labels, our scheme achieves comparable performance to the fully supervised counterpart. | 2024 | SDSTrack: Self-Distillation Symmetric Adapter Learning for Multi-Modal Visual Object TrackingabstractMultimodal Visual Object Tracking (VOT) has recently gained significant attention due to its robustness. Early research focused on fully fine-tuning RGB-based trackers, which was inefficient and lacked generalized representation due to the scarcity of multimodal data. Therefore, recent studies have utilized prompt tuning to transfer pre-trained RGB-based trackers to multimodal data. However, the modality gap limits pre-trained knowledge recall, and the dominance of the RGB modality persists, preventing the full utilization of information from other modalities. To address these issues, we propose a novel symmetric multimodal tracking framework called SDSTrack. We introduce lightweight adaptation for efficient fine-tuning, which directly transfers the feature extraction ability from RGB to other domains with a small number of trainable parameters and integrates multimodal features in a balanced, symmetric manner. Furthermore, we design a complementary masked patch distillation strategy to enhance the robustness of trackers in complex environments, such as extreme weather, poor imaging, and sensor failure. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SDSTrack outperforms state-of-the-art methods in various multimodal tracking scenarios, including RGB+Depth, RGB+Thermal, and RGB+Event tracking, and exhibits impressive results in extreme conditions. | 2024 | Personalize Segment Anything Model with One ShotabstractDriven by large-data pre-training, Segment Anything Model (SAM) has been demonstrated as a powerful promptable framework, revolutionizing the segmentation field. Despite the generality, customizing SAM for specific visual concepts without man-powered prompting is under-explored, e.g., automatically segmenting your pet dog in numerous images. In this paper, we introduce a training-free Personalization approach for SAM, termed PerSAM. Given only one-shot data, i.e., a single image with a reference mask, we first obtain a positive-negative location prior for the target concept in new images. Then, aided by target visual semantics, we empower SAM for personalized object segmentation via two proposed techniques: target-guided attention and target-semantic prompting. In this way, we can effectively customize the general-purpose SAM for private use without any training. To further alleviate the ambiguity of segmentation scales, we present an efficient one-shot fine-tuning variant, PerSAM-F. Freezing the entire SAM, we introduce a scale-aware fine-tuning to aggregate multi-scale masks, which only tunes 2 parameters within 10 seconds for improved performance. To demonstrate our efficacy, we construct a new dataset, PerSeg, for the evaluation of personalized object segmentation, and also test our methods on various one-shot image and video segmentation benchmarks. Besides, we propose to leverage PerSAM to improve DreamBooth for personalized text-to-image synthesis. By mitigating the disturbance of training-set backgrounds, our approach showcases better target appearance generation and higher fidelity to the input text prompt. | 2024 | ManipVQA: Injecting Robotic Affordance and Physically Grounded Information into Multi-Modal Large Language ModelsabstractWhile the integration of Multi-modal Large Language Models (MLLMs) with robotic systems has significantly improved robots’ ability to understand and execute natural language instructions, their performance in manipulation tasks remains limited due to a lack of robotics-specific knowledge. Conventional MLLMs are typically trained on generic image-text pairs, leaving them deficient in understanding affordances and physical concepts crucial for manipulation. To address this gap, we propose ManipVQA, a novel framework that infuses MLLMs with manipulation-centric knowledge through a Visual Question-Answering (VQA) format. This approach encompasses tool detection, affordance recognition, and a broader understanding of physical concepts. We curated a diverse dataset of images depicting interactive objects, to challenge robotic understanding in tool detection, affordance prediction, and physical concept comprehension. To effectively integrate this robotics-specific knowledge with the inherent vision-reasoning capabilities of MLLMs, we leverage a unified VQA format and devise a fine-tuning strategy. This strategy preserves the original vision-reasoning abilities while incorporating the newly acquired robotic insights. Empirical evaluations conducted in robotic simulators and across various vision task benchmarks demonstrate the robust performance of ManipVQA. | 2024 | MambaGesture: Enhancing Co-Speech Gesture Generation with Mamba and Disentangled Multi-Modality FusionabstractCo-speech gesture generation is crucial for producing synchronized and realistic human gestures that accompany speech, enhancing the animation of lifelike avatars in virtual environments. While diffusion models have shown impressive capabilities, current approaches often overlook a wide range of modalities and their interactions, resulting in less dynamic and contextually varied gestures. To address these challenges, we present MambaGesture, a novel framework integrating a Mamba-based attention block, MambaAttn, with a multi-modality feature fusion module, SEAD. The MambaAttn block combines the sequential data processing strengths of the Mamba model with the contextual richness of attention mechanisms, enhancing the temporal coherence of generated gestures. SEAD adeptly fuses audio, text, style, and emotion modalities, employing disentanglement to deepen the fusion process and yield gestures with greater realism and diversity. Our approach, rigorously evaluated on the multi-modal BEAT dataset, demonstrates significant improvements in Fréchet Gesture Distance (FGD), diversity scores, and beat alignment, achieving state-of-the-art performance in co-speech gesture generation. | 2024 | MDT-A2G: Exploring Masked Diffusion Transformers for Co-Speech Gesture GenerationabstractRecent advancements in the field of Diffusion Transformers have substantially improved the generation of high-quality 2D images, 3D videos, and 3D shapes. However, the effectiveness of the Transformer architecture in the domain of co-speech gesture generation remains relatively unexplored, as prior methodologies have predominantly employed the Convolutional Neural Network (CNNs) or simple a few transformer layers. In an attempt to bridge this research gap, we introduce a novel Masked Diffusion Transformer for co-speech gesture generation, referred to as MDT-A2G, which directly implements the denoising process on gesture sequences. To enhance the contextual reasoning capability of temporally aligned speech-driven gestures, we incorporate a novel Masked Diffusion Transformer. This model employs a mask modeling scheme specifically designed to strengthen temporal relation learning among sequence gestures, thereby expediting the learning process and leading to coherent and realistic motions. Apart from audio, Our MDT-A2G model also integrates multi-modal information, encompassing text, emotion, and identity. Furthermore, we propose an efficient inference strategy that diminishes the denoising computation by leveraging previously calculated results, thereby achieving a speedup with negligible performance degradation. Experimental results demonstrate that MDT-A2G excels in gesture generation, boasting a learning speed that is over 6× faster than traditional diffusion transformers and an inference speed that is 5.7× than the standard diffusion model. | 2023 | Rethinking Mobile Block for Efficient Attention-based ModelsabstractThis paper focuses on developing modern, efficient, lightweight models for dense predictions while trading off parameters, FLOPs, and performance. Inverted Residual Block (IRB) serves as the infrastructure for lightweight CNNs, but no counterpart has been recognized by attention-based studies. This work rethinks lightweight infrastructure from efficient IRB and effective components of Transformer from a unified perspective, extending CNN-based IRB to attention-based models and abstracting a one-residual Meta Mobile Block (MMB) for lightweight model design. Following simple but effective design criterion, we deduce a modern Inverted Residual Mobile Block (iRMB) and build a ResNetlike Efficient MOdel (EMO) with only iRMB for down-stream tasks. Extensive experiments on ImageNet-1K, COCO2017, and ADE20K benchmarks demonstrate the superiority of our EMO over state-of-the-art methods, e.g., EMO-1M/2M/5M achieve 71.5, 75.1, and 78.4 Top-1 that surpass equal-order CNN-/Attention-based models, while trading-off the parameter, efficiency, and accuracy well: running 2.8-4.0× ↑ faster than EdgeNeXt on iPhone14. | 2022 | DIRL: Domain-Invariant Representation Learning for Generalizable Semantic SegmentationabstractModel generalization to the unseen scenes is crucial to real-world applications, such as autonomous driving, which requires robust vision systems. To enhance the model generalization, domain generalization through learning the domain-invariant representation has been widely studied. However, most existing works learn the shared feature space within multi-source domains but ignore the characteristic of the feature itself (e.g., the feature sensitivity to the domain-specific style). Therefore, we propose the Domain-invariant Representation Learning (DIRL) for domain generalization which utilizes the feature sensitivity as the feature prior to guide the enhancement of the model generalization capability. The guidance reflects in two folds: 1) Feature re-calibration that introduces the Prior Guided Attention Module (PGAM) to emphasize the insensitive features and suppress the sensitive features. 2): Feature whiting that proposes the Guided Feature Whiting (GFW) to remove the feature correlations which are sensitive to the domain-specific style. We construct the domain-invariant representation which suppresses the effect of the domain-specific style on the quality and correlation of the features. As a result, our method is simple yet effective, and can enhance the robustness of various backbone networks with little computational cost. Extensive experiments over multiple domains generalizable segmentation tasks show the superiority of our approach to other methods. | 2021 | Rethinking Counting and Localization in Crowds: A Purely Point-Based FrameworkabstractLocalizing individuals in crowds is more in accordance with the practical demands of subsequent high-level crowd analysis tasks than simply counting. However, existing localization based methods relying on intermediate representations (i.e., density maps or pseudo boxes) serving as learning targets are counter-intuitive and error-prone. In this paper, we propose a purely point-based framework for joint crowd counting and individual localization. For this framework, instead of merely reporting the absolute counting error at image level, we propose a new metric, called density Normalized Average Precision (nAP), to provide more comprehensive and more precise performance evaluation. Moreover, we design an intuitive solution under this framework, which is called Point to Point Network (P2PNet). P2PNet discards superfluous steps and directly predicts a set of point proposals to represent heads in an image, being consistent with the human annotation results. By thorough analysis, we reveal the key step towards implementing such a novel idea is to assign optimal learning targets for these proposals. Therefore, we propose to conduct this crucial association in an one-to-one matching manner using the Hungarian algorithm. The P2PNet not only significantly surpasses state-of-the-art methods on popular counting benchmarks, but also achieves promising localization accuracy. | 2021 | SiamRCR: Reciprocal Classification and Regression for Visual Object TrackingabstractRecently, most siamese network based trackers locate targets via object classification and bounding-box regression. Generally, they select the bounding-box with maximum classification confidence as the final prediction. This strategy may miss the right result due to the accuracy misalignment between classification and regression. In this paper, we propose a novel siamese tracking algorithm called SiamRCR, addressing this problem with a simple, light and effective solution. It builds reciprocal links between classification and regression branches, which can dynamically re-weight their losses for each positive sample. In addition, we add a localization branch to predict the localization accuracy, so that it can work as the replacement of the regression assistance link during inference. This branch makes the training and inference more consistent. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of SiamRCR and its superiority over the state-of-the-art competitors on GOT-10k, LaSOT, TrackingNet, OTB-2015, VOT-2018 and VOT-2019. | 2020 | Rethinking Learnable Tree Filter for Generic Feature TransformabstractThe Learnable Tree Filter presents a remarkable approach to model structure-preserving relations for semantic segmentation. Nevertheless, the intrinsic geometric constraint forces it to focus on the regions with close spatial distance, hindering the effective long-range interactions. To relax the geometric constraint, we give the analysis by reformulating it as a Markov Random Field and introduce a learnable unary term. Besides, we propose a learnable spanning tree algorithm to replace the original non-differentiable one, which further improves the flexibility and robustness. With the above improvements, our method can better capture long range dependencies and preserve structural details with linear complexity, which is extended to several vision tasks for more generic feature transform. | 2019 | Video Object Detection with Locally-Weighted Deformable NeighborsabstractDeep convolutional neural networks have achieved great success on various image recognition tasks. However, it is nontrivial to transfer the existing networks to video due to the fact that most of them are developed for static image. Frame-byframe processing is suboptimal because temporal information that is vital for video understanding is totally abandoned. Furthermore, frame-by-frame processing is slow and inefficient, which can hinder the practical usage. In this paper, we propose LWDN (Locally-Weighted Deformable Neighbors) for video object detection without utilizing time-consuming optical flow extraction networks. LWDN can latently align the high-level features between keyframes and keyframes or nonkeyframes. Inspired by (Zhu et al. 2017a) and (Hetang et al. 2017) who propose to aggregate features between keyframes and keyframes, we adopt brain-inspired memory mechanism to propagate and update the memory feature from keyframes to keyframes. We call this process Memory-Guided Propagation. With such a memory mechanism, the discriminative ability of features in keyframes and non-keyframes are both enhanced, which helps to improve the detection accuracy. Extensive experiments on VID dataset demonstrate that our method achieves superior performance in a speed and accuracy trade-off, i.e., 76.3% on the challenging VID dataset while maintaining 20fps in speed on Titan X GPU. | 2019 | Dynamic Fusion With Intra- and Inter-Modality Attention Flow for Visual Question AnsweringabstractLearning effective fusion of multi-modality features is at the heart of visual question answering. We propose a novel method of dynamically fuse multi-modal features with intra- and inter-modality information flow, which alternatively pass dynamic information between and across the visual and language modalities. It can robustly capture the high-level interactions between language and vision domains, thus significantly improves the performance of visual question answering. We also show that, the proposed dynamic intra modality attention flow conditioned on the other modality can dynamically modulate the intra-modality attention of the current modality, which is vital for multimodality feature fusion.
