2019 First Results from Laser-Based Spectral Characterization of Landsat 9 Operational Land Imager-2
abstract
Landsat 9 will continue the Landsat data record into its fifth decade with launch scheduled for December 2020. The two instruments on Landsat 9 are Thermal Infrared Sensor-2 (TIRS-2) and Operational Land Imager-2 (OLI-2). OLI-2 is a nine-channel pushbroom imager with a 15-degree field of view that will have a 16-day measurement cadence from its nominal 705-km orbit altitude. A key aspect of the data that will be produced by OLI-2 is its spectral fidelity which enables countless science applications. The prelaunch test campaign for spectral characterization of OLI-2 was substantially improved relative to the methodology used for OLI: the full spectral response of every detector was characterized with greater accuracy, sampling, and precision. This paper will describe how this was accomplished with a tunable laser-based light source called Goddard Laser for Absolute Measurement of Radiance (GLAMR).

2018 Fast millimeter wave beam alignment
abstract
There is much interest in integrating millimeter wave radios (mmWave) into wireless LANs and 5G cellular networks to benefit from their multi-GHz of available spectrum. Yet, unlike existing technologies, e.g., WiFi, mmWave radios require highly directional antennas. Since the antennas have pencil-beams, the transmitter and receiver need to align their beams before they can communicate. Existing systems scan the space to find the best alignment. Such a process has been shown to introduce up to seconds of delay, and is unsuitable for wireless networks where an access point has to quickly switch between users and accommodate mobile clients.

2014 Continuance use intention of enterprise instant messaging: a knowledge management perspective
abstract
Instant messaging has been widely utilised by a variety of types of organisations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of internal communication and knowledge management (KM). To date, though, the continuance use of enterprise instant messaging (EIM) and its impact on KM outcomes have not been well understood in both academia and practice. This paper uses the decomposed theory of planned behaviour to explore factors that influence continual usage of EIM applications within organisations, as well as the impact of the continuance use decisions on knowledge creation, transfer, and retention within organisations. Our results are useful in developing guidelines and strategies to increase the likelihood of the continuance use of EIM and to improve the potential outcome of its use within organisations.

1995 A graphic arts perspective on RGB-to-CMYK conversion
abstract
Economical computer tools now enable the creation of color documents at the desktop. An important step in producing output that will print with the desired color is the digital conversion of RGB color data to CMYK printing values. This process, traditionally performed by skilled craftsmen using electronic scanner controls, purportedly will be made routine by "color management systems" based on CIE colorimetry. This approach will likely succeed to varying degrees of success across the graphic arts landscape. With the hope of providing some background context this paper will step back, review some historical fundamentals, and describe a digital conversion algorithm that has proven quite successful in conventional graphic arts applications.
