| 2024 | Fairness-Aware Maximal Cliques Identification in Attributed Social Networks With Concept-Cognitive LearningabstractAttributed social networks are pervasive in real life and play a crucial role in shaping various aspects of society. These networks not only capture the connections between individuals but also encompass the associated attributes and characteristics. Analyzing and understanding these attributes provide insights into social behaviors, information diffusion patterns, and the formation of influential communities. Consequently, we propose a novel algorithm for detecting fairness-aware maximal cliques in the attributed social networks. We extract the concept lattice of attributed social networks and quantify these concepts using the concept stability and fairness measures defined in this article. By utilizing the proposed fairness-aware distance, we identify fairness-aware maximal cliques within attributed social networks. The effectiveness of the algorithm is then validated using five real-world network datasets. Experimental results fully demonstrate the effectiveness and scalability of our approach in identifying key structures, analyzing attribute networks, and promoting the development of responsible computational systems. | 2017 | How to Identify Cooperation Partners based on multisource dataabstractthis study aims at identifying potential industry-University-research institution collaborations partners (IURC) efficaciously and analyzes the conditions and dynamics in the IURC process, based on knowledge potential and the knowledge spillover theory. Furthermore, a new identification method is constructed that takes into account the law of scientific research cooperation and economic factors. The method utilizes multisource data, combining bibliometric and econometrics analyses to achieve the network core of the existing collaboration network, and institution competitiveness in the innovation chain. Empirical analysis of the genetic engineering vaccine field shows that throughout the distribution characteristics of creative technologies from different institutions, the analysis based on the innovation chain can identify more complementarities between institutions. Compared to previous studies, this study emulates the real conditions of IURC. The rule of technological innovation can be better revealed, potential partners of IURC can be more easily identified, and the conclusion has a higher value in consultation. In particular, diverse informative indices can assist researchers in deriving appropriate partners for research and development cooperation. Haiyun Xu, Ling Wei, Shu Fang |

| 2017 | Abnormal Breast Detection in Mammogram Images by Feed-forward Neural Network Trained by Jaya Algorithmabstract(Aim) Abnormal breast can be diagnosed using the digital mammography. Traditional manual interpretation method cannot yield high accuracy. (Method) In this study, we proposed a novel computer-aided diagnosis system for detecting abnormal breasts in mammogram images. First, we segmented the region-o f-interest. Next, the weighted-type fractional Fourier transform (WFRFT) was employed to obtain the unified time-frequency spectrum. Third, principal component analysis (PCA) was introduced and used to reduce the spectrum to only 18 principal components. Fourth, feed-forward neural network (FNN) was utilized to generate the classifier. Finally, a novel algorithm-specific parameter free approach, Jaya, was employed to train the classifier. (Results) Our proposed WFRFT + PCA + Jaya-FNN achieved sensitivity of 92.26% ± 3.44%, specificity of 92.28% ± 3.58%, and accuracy of 92.27% ± 3.49%. (Conclusions) The proposed CAD system is effective in detecting abnormal breasts and performs better than 5 state-of-the-art systems. Besides, Jaya is more effective in training FNN than BP, MBP, GA, SA, and PSO. Shuihua Wang, Ravipudi Venkata Rao, Peng Chen 0018, Yudong Zhang 0001, Ling Wei |

| 2016 | Granular Transformation and Irreducible Element Judgment Theory Based on Pictorial DiagramsabstractAs an important tool for data analysis and knowledge processing, formal concept analysis has been applied to many fields. Currently, granular computing (GrC) provides a novel approach for data analysis. In this paper, pictorial diagrams of a formal context are first defined based on equivalence relations. And then, from the viewpoint of GrC, the transformation between equivalence classes and three kinds of concepts (formal concept, property oriented concept, and object oriented concept) in formal contexts are studied. Further, using the relationships between arrow relations proposed by Wille and Ganter and irreducible elements of a concept lattice, the new judgment theorems for join(meet)-irreducible elements of a concept lattice, join-irreducible elements of a property oriented concept lattice and an object oriented concept lattice are achieved.
