2021 Design and Performance Analysis for Edge Intelligence-Based F-PMIPv6 Mobility Support for Smart Manufacturing
abstract
In this paper, we propose a new mobility management network, i‐FP, to be used in the smart factory that continues to develop in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. i‐FP was created to solve the current local mobility management problem of legacy frameworks. MN (mobile node) refers to a mobile device in a manufacturing environment that includes workers, production facilities, and AGV. To allow mobile nodes (MNs) to move from one domain to another, i‐FP uses three network entities: LFA (Local Factory Anchor), FAG (Factory Access Gateway), and MN, as an extended concept of PMIPv6. Among the three network entities in i‐FP, LFA and FAG can act as edge intelligence devices to reduce the handover latency of the MNs. i‐FP also uses IP header‐swapping mechanisms to prevent traffic overhead and enhance network throughput. We evaluate new framework i‐FP, PMIPv6, and HMIPv6, which are legacy protocols of local mobility management, in various ways and evaluate three schemes. We confirm that i‐FP works better than do the other network methods used in the smart factory.

2018 A Novel Broker-Based Hierarchical Authentication Scheme in Proxy Mobile IPv6 Networks
abstract
Most of the current research about Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) focuses on how to optimize the interactive processes between the PMIPv6 and AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) protocol. This paper describes a cost-effective hierarchical authentication scheme, which makes its focus on minimizing the authentication latency in AAA processing. In this scheme, a hierarchical AAA architecture is proposed, in which the AAA servers are deployed on the Local Mobility Anchor (LMA), the Root AAA server manages several Leaf AAA servers and the Brokers on behalf of the AAA server in home domain. The simulation results shows that the proposed scheme reduces the handoff and authentication latency evidently compared to the previous traditional authentication combination modeling.

2013 Design and Performance Analysis of A Novel P2P-SIP Architecture for Network-Based Mobility Support in Intelligent Home Networks
abstract
Home network providers have many issues to resolve in providing home network services with an expandable, reliable, flexible, and low-cost structure to accommodate the expanding market environment. Current client-server systems have various problems, such as complexity and high costs to provide home network services. However, these problems can be simply solved by employing the P2P communication terminal that supports access of distributed resources to provide the functions that the current SIP-based network devices perform. Because diverse terminals in a home network access through networks, partitioning network domains with home gateways to manage and applying the network-based PMIPv6 (Proxy Mobile IPv6) technology that considers mobility of terminals would also help to create a more efficient home network structure. This proposed P2P-SIP architecture is very efficient with outstanding expandability to support the various home networks in a region while reducing maintenance costs.

2012 mSFP: Multicast-based Inter-Domain Mobility Management Scheme in Sensor-based Fast Proxy Mobile IPv6 Networks
abstract
In this paper, we propose a Multicasting-based Inter-Domain Mobility Management Scheme in Sensor-based Fast Proxy Mobile Ipv6 Networks (mSFP). Based on [6,10], we present its network architecture and evaluate its performance by considering the signaling and mobility cost. Our analysis shows that the proposed scheme reduces the signaling cost, total cost, and mobility cost. With respect to the number of IP-WSN nodes, the proposed scheme reduces the signaling cost by 7% and the total cost by 3%.With respect to the number of hops, the proposed scheme reduces the signaling cost by 6.9%, the total cost by 2.5%, and the mobility cost by 1.5%. With respect to the number of IP-WSN nodes, the proposed scheme reduces the mobility cost by 1.6%.
