| 2026 | Wearable Rhythm: An Ambient Wearable for Promoting Awareness of Internal RhythmsabstractThis paper proposes Wearable Rhythm, a wearable system that encourages awareness of multi-layered, non-linear temporality. In contrast to dominant, efficiency-oriented views of time, the system ambiently conveys rhythms linked to bodily sensations. The current prototype maps physiological and behavioral rhythms into multisensory ambient cues, facilitating an exploration of how these layered temporalities shape an embodied awareness of time. | 2026 | Visual Transformation for Reflective Ambient Displays: Comparing Mirror and Frame RepresentationsabstractReflection emerges when familiar scenes are revisited from a new angle, yet such moments do not always arise on their own during routine encounters. We present LudiScape, an ambient interface developed as a design probe to examine how staged visual augmentation shapes reflective experience through a five-level Visual Transformation Spectrum. LudiScape is instantiated in two metaphorical versions: Mirror for private reflection and Frame for asynchronous shared reflection. In a controlled within-subjects study (N=18), reflective experience increased relative to the baseline level in both versions. However, the most supportive level differed, peaking at Level 2 in Mirror and Level 4 in Frame. The findings suggest that degrees of reflective cue explicitness may support private and shared reflection differently, with lighter prompting appearing more effective in Mirror and more explicit traces appearing more effective in Frame. | 2024 | Tippy: Supporting the recollection of past positive moments to maintain human daily well-beingabstractWe present Tippy, a lifelog service designed to maintain human well-being through the practice of tiny habits. Fostering happiness in life is a crucial societal concern, and Tippy seeks to promote sustainable happiness by establishing an ongoing cycle of recording and revisiting positive personal visual moments. Additionally, we delve into some initial insights gleaned from our current prototype. Yukina Kato, Naho Yokoyama, Risa Kimura, Tatsuo Nakajima |

| 2024 | RamenJourney: A lifelogging service for maintaining the daily well-being of ramen geeksabstractRamenJourney is a lifelog service designed to recall daily positive memories of ramen geeks. It offers various display modes to highlight individual past positive visual moments. The design principles of RamenJourney are based on an interview conducted with a ramen geek who sought to amplify their positive moments using a social media platform. Furthermore, we have gleaned some preliminary insights from our current prototype. Naho Yokoyama, Yukina Kato, Risa Kimura, Tatsuo Nakajima |
