| 2016 | Constructing initial design patterns for online social network-based applicationsabstractSocial network websites are currently highly popular. The number of users and amount of data is increasing rapidly. Many researchers or developers that want to use that data for analysis and determining relationships in the data, as well as analyzing behavioral data of such websites' users. Connecting to the application programming interface of each social network website, as well as the properties of the data, has different characteristics, and requires a long time to understand before data requests may be performed and the data may be applied to use. This research presents initial design patterns for social networking applications that can identify the basic requirements of connecting to the application programming interface of social network websites, as well as propose approaches for retrieving information from social networks, as an approach for application. | 2016 | Constructing patterns verification criteria based on quality attributes: Web security context patterns case studyabstractThe proposed patterns for a specific domain were widely used for the concept of reusing of the resolved problems to similar ones. The verification criteria for proposed patterns evaluation are one of the important factors that affect the patterns quality. This research proposed patterns verification method and criteria based on quality attributes in order to improve patterns validity. The method was composed of 4 steps, verification criteria establishment, experimental design, experimental execution and results analysis and report. The two additional verification criteria, Knowledge Transformation and Patterns Application were proposed while three criteria, Goal, Source and Representation were proposed by Breaux (2012). In addition, the quality attributes of 5 verification criteria were introduced and applied in a case study. They were Achievement, Functionality, Understandability, Completeness and Consistency, and Clarification and Application. From our previous work, the construct patterns of Web Security Context Patterns (WSCP) were used as a case study. Experts in both academia and industry sectors were selected to evaluate the WSCP patterns using the 5 evaluation criteria based on the proposed quality attributes as a list of issues. By using these verification criteria, the experimental results indicated that the quality of WSCP patterns was assessed in a high level of satisfaction with an overall mean above 4 from a 5 scale. | 2016 | AKIHelper: Acute kidney injury diagnostic tool using KDIGO guideline approachabstractAcute Kidney Injury (AKI) is common and harmful disorder in hospitalized patients. It is associated with poor outcomes such as a decrease chance of survival, longer hospital stays and an increase progression of chronic kidney disease. To diagnosis AKI, the KDIGO clinical practice guideline has been published for providing standardized criteria of AKI definition and the recommendation in medical pathway. Moreover, early detection of AKI in patient at risk can also improve the outcomes. This paper presents an approach to assist the doctor in diagnosis and decision making process. First, the risk factors of AKI were identified using data mining approach based on Decision Tree classification technique. Simple Cart and J48 were selected as the algorithms for this process. Second, a concept of tool requirements and design named “AKIHelper” is presented. This tool is created based on KDIGO guideline which is expected to use for diagnosis and staging severity of AKI. | 2016 | Method for classifying usability qualities and problems for action games from user reviews using text miningabstractGame reviewing is one of the method for game users and critics to comment and discuss about a game. Game developers and marketers could use game reviews as insights to assist on designing a better game by specifying quality requirements and providing better game marketing. Usability and problems are major concerns of users and game developers since these quality affects users' satisfaction and opportunity to increase market share respectively. However, manually extracting game usability qualities and problems from a large number of game reviews is challenging since most reviews often use natural language and may not be well-organized. This research presents a method for extracting and classifying game usability qualities and problems from game reviews using text mining technique. This research is composed of 2 main phases. The first phase is specifying game usability qualities and problems categories which also included keyword corpus creation for each category. The second phase is gathering, extracting, analyzing and classifying game reviews. The gathered game reviews will be extracted and classified into each usability qualities and problems category. Game usability qualities classification will also include sentiment classification to further specify positivity and negativity of each sentence. Accuracy metric will be used for classification evaluation. In addition, a game review summary on usability qualities and problems will be created for developers to improve game quality. | 2007 | Enterprise Assets Security Requirements Construction from ESRMG Grammar based on Security PatternsabstractOne of the highest priorities of system requirements needed in software development industry is security requirements. However, to identify the complete and correct software security requirements are a challenging task especially creating enterprise assets security requirements. Enterprise assets security requirements are to identify security basic needs, to assess risks, to establish security approach and service, and to specify external enterprise consideration including confidentiality, integrity, availability, and accountability concerns. Moreover, these may be applied to other security requirements such as identification and authentication, access control, firewall architecture, etc. Security patterns may be used to create this security requirements but understanding, analyzing and transforming from security patterns to security requirements are difficult to accomplish. We proposed a grammar, called ESRMG (enterprise security and risk management grammar), and a prototyping tool based on security patterns in a scope of enterprise asset identification and risk managements which are the fundamental of enterprise security requirements. The proposed grammar and tool are beneficial for any organization to construct enterprise security requirements and may help reduce cost and time in overall of system development. | 2006 | Software Requirements Retrieval Using Use Case Terms and Structure Similarity ComputationabstractFor a large scale of software development, there is a tremendous number of software requirements documents in a collection which may be produced for different domains by different developer teams. They may be later reused to reduce cost and time for the next development. Thus, there is a need to retrieve ones that meet user's need efficiently. This paper presents an approach for software requirements specification retrieval in a form of use case description using use case structure and similarity computation between terms of use case query and use cases in the collection. The contribution of the paper has five main points; 1) the approach for retrieving use case description is proposed, 2) the developed tool supporting the approach is presented, 3) the experiment is designed to measure effectiveness of the approach, 4) the results of the experiment are shown to compare effectiveness of the approach to that of a general approach, and finally 5) the recommended use case description query template is proposed. | 2006 | A Process Model Design and Tool Development for Supplier Agreement Management of CMMI: Capability Level 2abstractAcquired software products from suppliers are being increasing tremendously because of insufficiency of resources and capable employees. To manage and monitor the product acquisition process effectively according to a signed contract with a supplier, an organization has to define the standard of workflow, deliverable products in each step and staff roles and responsibilities, etc. Thus, there is a need to incorporate these diversified processes into a single process model that could helps to reach the software product acquisition goal. CMMI defines supplier agreement management process area (SAM) that relates to product acquisition but it does not describe how the organization should do to achieve its expectation. This research presents a business workflow process model for SAM process area of CMMI: capability level 2. It consists of three layers: contextual layer, elaboration layer, and definition layer. A software tool called supplier agreement management tool (SAMT) is also developed to help integrate the details of our approach and can be used for the proposed process model. | 2006 | Experience from applying RIM to educational ERP developmentabstractDeveloping a complex system requires partitioning the target system into several subsystems. It is generally difficult to define each subsystem's scope and functional requirements as well as data dependencies among subsystems. Requirements Integration Model (RIM), which consists of a workflow model and a work procedure, can provide specific guidelines and techniques to increase quality of requirements obtained under a time constraint. We have applied the technique to the implementation of the educational system for the Department of Computer Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Experiences from this case study have shown that the model can assist developers to clearly specify functional requirements for each subsystem and to identify data dependencies among subsystems.
