2026 Bridging Cognitive Gap: Hierarchical Description Learning for Artistic Image Aesthetics Assessment
abstract
The aesthetic quality assessment task is crucial for developing a human-aligned quantitative evaluation system for AIGC. However, its inherently complex nature—spanning visual perception, cognition, and emotion—poses fundamental challenges. Although aesthetic descriptions offer a viable representation of this complexity, two critical challenges persist: (1) data scarcity and imbalance: existing dataset overly focuses on visual perception and neglects deeper dimensions due to the expensive manual annotation; and (2) model fragmentation: current visual networks isolate aesthetic attributes with multi-branch encoder, while multimodal methods represented by contrastive learning struggle to effectively process long-form textual descriptions. To resolve challenge (1), we first present the Refined Aesthetic Description (RAD) dataset, a large-scale (70k), multi-dimensional structured dataset, generated via an iterative pipeline without heavy annotation costs and easy to scale. To address challenge (2), we propose ArtQuant, an aesthetics assessment framework for artistic image which not only couple isolated aesthetic dimensions through joint description generation, but also better model long-text semantics with the help of LLM decoders. Besides, theoretical analysis confirms this symbiosis: RAD's semantic adequacy (data) and generation paradigm (model) collectively minimize prediction entropy, providing mathematical grounding for the framework. Our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance on several datasets while requiring only 33% of conventional training epochs, narrowing the cognitive gap between artistic image and aesthetic judgment. We will release both code and dataset to support future research.

2025 Harmonious Music-driven Group Choreography with Trajectory-Controllable Diffusion
abstract
Creating group choreography from music is crucial in cultural entertainment and virtual reality, with a focus on generating harmonious movements. Despite growing interest, recent approaches often struggle with two major challenges: multi-dancer collisions and single-dancer foot sliding. To address these challenges, we propose a Trajectory-Controllable Diffusion (TCDiff) framework, which leverages non-overlapping trajectories to ensure coherent and aesthetically pleasing dance movements. To mitigate collisions, we introduce a Dance-Trajectory Navigator that generates collision-free trajectories for multiple dancers, utilizing a distance-consistency loss to maintain optimal spacing. Furthermore, to reduce foot sliding, we present a footwork adaptor that adjusts trajectory displacement between frames, supported by a relative forward-kinematic loss to further reinforce the correlation between movements and trajectories. Experiments demonstrate our method's superiority.

2025 Follow-Your-Click: Open-domain Regional Image Animation via Motion Prompts
abstract
Despite recent advances in image-to-video generation, better controllability and local animation are less explored. Most existing image-to-video methods are not locally aware and tend to move the entire scene. However, human artists may need to control the movement of different objects or regions. Additionally, current I2V methods require users not only to describe the target motion but also to provide redundant detailed descriptions of frame contents. These two issues hinder the practical utilization of current I2V tools. In this paper, we propose a practical framework, named Follow-Your-Click, to achieve image animation with a simple user click (for specifying what to move) and a motion prompt (for specifying how to move). Technically, we propose the first-frame masking strategy, which significantly improves the video generation quality, and a motion-augmented module equipped with a motion prompt dataset to improve the motion prompt following abilities of our model. To further control the motion speed, we propose flow-based motion magnitude control to control the speed of target movement more precisely. Extensive experiments compared with 7 baselines, including both commercial tools and research methods on 8 metrics, suggest the superiority of our approach.

2025 Linear Differential Vision Transformer: Learning Visual Contrasts via Pairwise Differentials
abstract
Vision Transformers (ViTs) have become a universal backbone for both image recognition and image generation. Yet their Multi–Head Self–Attention (MHSA) layer still performs a quadratic query–key interaction for \emph{every} token pair, spending the bulk of computation on visually weak or redundant correlations. We introduce \emph{Visual–Contrast Attention} (VCA), a drop-in replacement for MHSA that injects an explicit notion of discrimination while reducing the theoretical complexity from $\mathcal{O}(N^{2}C)$ to $\mathcal{O}(N n C)$ with $n\!\ll\!N$. VCA first distils each head’s dense query field into a handful of spatially pooled \emph{visual–contrast tokens}, then splits them into a learnable \emph{positive} and \emph{negative} stream whose differential interaction highlights what truly separates one region from another. The module adds fewer than $0.3$\,M parameters to a DeiT-Tiny backbone, requires no extra FLOPs, and is wholly architecture-agnostic. Empirically, VCA lifts DeiT-Tiny top-1 accuracy on ImageNet-1K from $72.2\%$ to \textbf{$75.6\%$} (+$3.4$) and improves three strong hierarchical ViTs by up to $3.1$\%, while in class-conditional ImageNet generation it lowers FID-50K by $2.1$ to $5.2$ points across both diffusion (DiT) and flow (SiT) models. Extensive ablations confirm that (i) spatial pooling supplies low-variance global cues, (ii) dual positional embeddings are indispensable for contrastive reasoning, and (iii) combining the two in both stages yields the strongest synergy. VCA therefore offers a simple path towards faster and sharper Vision Transformers.
