1971 Numerical Analysis of a Nonlinear Diffusion Problem
abstract
A simplified mathematical model of impurity redistribution in a semiconductor during an oxidation process is analyzed by a transformation to a Lagrangian coordinate system, followed by a finite difference approximation.Existence, uniqueness, and stability results are obtained for the difference equations. The practical application of the method is also discussed.
