| 2023 | Identifying Characteristics of the Agile Development Process That Impact User SatisfactionabstractThe purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of Agile development processes that impact user satisfaction. We used user reviews of OSS smartphone apps and various data from version control systems to examine the relationships, especially time-series correlations, between user satisfaction and development metrics that are expected to be related to user satisfaction. Although no metrics conclusively indicate an improved user satisfaction, motivation of the development team, the ability to set appropriate work units, the appropriateness of work rules, and the improvement of code maintainability should be considered as they are correlated with improved user satisfaction. In contrast, changes in the release frequency and workload are not correlated. Minshun Yang, Seiji Sato, Hironori Washizaki, Yoshiaki Fukazawa, Juichi Takahashi |

| 2009 | A model for concurrent states and its coverage criteriaabstractRecently, the embedded software, which is implemented in high definition TVs, recorders and cellar phones and so on, are complicated. There are several reasons. One of the reasons is that embedded software will be implemented with libraries for concurrent processing such as pthread in C language. Developers have to be aware that concurrent programming by using multithread, multi-process and so on. However, concurrent programming is harder than sequential programming. It is possible to cause defects such as race conditions, dead lock and so on. In this paper, we employ ACP (all concurrent paths) and CMFG (concurrent module flow graph) to execute white box testing for the source code of the concurrent software. The number of test cases of ACP becomes huge when the number of blocks increases. In this paper, we propose to suppress the number of test cases of ACP and measure the coverage of ACP by a tool. | 2002 | Effective Automated Testing: A Solution of Graphical Object VerificationabstractRecently, software testers have relied more on automated testing to test software. Automated testing method consists of three modules: test case design, execution, and verification. Yet, to accomplish these three phases, we are always in a dilemma due to a lack of a verification function. Nearly all the commercial automated testing tools cannot efficiently compare graphical objects though GUI (Graphic User Interface) software is now more crucial than text based user interface. This research develops a technique that aids automatic behavior verification for a particularly difficult problem: determining the correction of screen and paper output. Methodology to capture and compare the output is presented and a case study using Microsoft/spl reg/ PowerPoint/spl reg/ is described. Juichi Takahashi, Yoshiaki Kakuda |
