| 2019 | The Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Challenge as an Approach to Improve Students Abilities in Test Case WritingabstractTest cases are a set of test inputs, execution conditions, and expected results developed for a particular objective, such as to exercise a particular program path or to verify compliance with a specific requirement. Test cases that are written by students typically have recurring errors that make difficult to find hidden bugs or lack essential details about the data to be used and the instructions that must be followed. As an attempt to improve the quality of students test cases, we used a "Peanut butter and jelly sandwich challenge", typically used to teach algorithmic thinking, to show students the difficulties one may have repeating a simple set of instructions when they are not precisely described. That activity was adapted to cover contents focused on test case writing. Kiev Gama, Andrew Diniz da Costa, Hendi Lemos Coelho |

| 2013 | RSA-MBT: a test tool for generating test artifacts based on modelsabstractModel-Based Testing (MBT) has attracted the attention of many industries and, hence, it has provided several approaches reported in the literature. The Software Engineering Lab (LES) at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro has worked extensively on coordinating and carrying out tests of large-scale software systems developed (for web and desktop) for different domains (e.g. petroleum, e-commerce, etc). Based on this experience, an LES test group created a new test modeling language called UML Testing Profile for Coordination (UTP-C) to model relevant test data. However, to use the advantages of the new modeling, an appropriate test-modeling tool became necessary. Thus, this paper presents the RSA-MBT, a new plug-in developed for the Rational Software Architecture (RSA) tool, to generate a set of test artifacts from UTP-C diagrams.
