| 2025 | Understanding Consumer Trust Dynamics and Purchase Intentions in a Multichannel Live Streaming E-Commerce Context: A Trust Transfer PerspectiveabstractThis research aims to investigate the dynamic process of transferring trust dimensions from e-store to live streaming contexts and how these trust dimensions in both environments influence consumer purchase intentions in live-streaming settings. Based on trust transfer theory and with a sample of 200 respondents, this study conducted a rigorous analysis using SmartPLS 4.0, employing bootstrapping methods to evaluate hypotheses derived from our theoretical model. The findings demonstrate that the four dimensions of trust (integrity, benevolence, ability, and predictability) in e-stores significantly impact their counterparts in live streaming channels. Also, trust in live streaming channels’ integrity and predictability was found to significantly influence consumer livestream purchase intentions, while trust in e-stores’ benevolence and ability significantly influences consumer livestream purchase intentions. These results highlight that the impact of trust varies depending on the e-commerce setting. This pioneering research provides valuable insights into building consumer trust and boosting purchase intentions in live streaming e-commerce, offering important implications for both theory and practice. | 2024 | Developing and Validating a Live Streaming Social Commerce Success ModelabstractThe study was designed to explore the determinants affecting consumer online repurchase intention in the context of live-streaming social commerce. A live streaming social commerce success model was developed and verified empirically using data gathered from an anonymous online survey completed by 202 individuals with experience participating in live streaming social-commerce events on the Facebook Live platform. Based on the results, online repurchase intention was predicted directly by post-consumption positive electronic word‐of‐mouth (eWOM) and customer satisfaction. Moreover, customer satisfaction and perceived value were found to influence online repurchase intention through post-consumption positive eWOM generation. Finally, product quality, comparative price, and perceived entertainment were found to be the primary factors driving customer satisfaction, while product quality and perceived competitive price were found to be predictors of perceived value. | 2022 | What drives students' Internet ethical behaviour: an integrated model of the theory of planned behaviour, personality, and Internet ethics educationabstractWith the emergence of Internet technology, Internet ethics has become an important issue for academics and practitioners. This study aims to investigate the factors that influence students’ behavioural intention to perform an Internet ethical behaviour based on an integrated perspective of the theory of planned behaviour (TPB), Big-Five personality traits, and Internet ethics education. This study empirically examines the research model using a cross-sectional survey study, collecting data from a sample of 276 students, and using partial least squares (PLS) for the analysis. The results show that intention of performing Internet ethical behaviours is influenced by attitude toward ethical behaviour, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control. Moreover, personality trait agreeableness is positively related to attitude toward ethical behaviour and subjective norms. Conscientiousness and openness are positively correlated with attitude toward ethical behaviour, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control. Finally, the existence of an Internet ethics curriculum significantly strengthened the positive relationship between attitude toward ethical behaviour and intention of performing Internet ethical behaviours. The findings enhance our understanding of the relationship between students’ Internet ethical behaviour and Internet ethics education. The results also provide several important theoretical and practical implications for Internet ethics education within the university education context. Yu-Yin Wang, Yi-Shun Wang, Yu-Min Wang |

| 2015 | Permission-Based E-Mail Marketing Websites Success: An Integrated PerspectiveabstractExtant research on websites success has paid insufficient attention to the success of permission-based e-mail marketing (PEM) websites. In order to bridge this knowledge gap, the contribution of this study lies in synthesizing information management/e-commerce, media/communication, as well as customer/marketing research to propose a PEM websites success model consisting of antecedent (i.e., functional, process, and relational benefits), mediator (i.e., relationship quality), and outcome variables (i.e., relationship outcomes). Data collected from 294 respondents in Taiwan were tested against the research model using structural equation modeling. The result shows that functional and process benefits (i.e., information quality, ease of use, and entertainment benefits) except entertainment benefits can indirectly influence relationship outcomes (i.e., user loyalty and positive word of mouth) through the mediation of relationship quality (i.e., user satisfaction and commitment). The result also indicates that relational benefits (i.e., confidence, social, and special treatment benefits) can not affect relationship outcomes directly or indirectly through relationship quality. It concludes that, unlike the brick-and-mortar context, relational benefits emphasized by customer/marketing research do not play a significant role in influencing relationship outcomes in the context of PEM websites. Rather, the empirically validated model highlights the importance of functional and process benefits in establishing PEM websites success, supporting the perspectives from information management/e-commerce research as well as media/communication research. | 2013 | Exploring the determinants of IS developers' behavioural intention to learn business skillsabstractWhile previous research has emphasised the importance of business skills for information systems (IS) developers in the process of IS development, few studies have investigated the determinants of IS developers’ behavioural intention to learn business skills. The current study explores the factors affecting IS developers’ intention to learn business skills based on previous theories and research. Data collected from 258 valid respondents are tested against the research model using the partial least-squares approach. The results indicate that both job involvement and career insight have significant positive effects on extrinsic and intrinsic motivations for learning business skills. Additionally, learning self-efficacy is not only found to have a significant influence on learning intention, but is also found to have a moderating effect on the positive relationship between intrinsic motivation and learning intention. The findings of this study provide several important theoretical and practical implications for IS developers’ behaviour of learning business skills. Tung-Ching Lin, Yi-Shun Wang, Yu-Yin Wang |

| 2012 | Hedonic and Utilitarian Motivations for Physical Game Systems Use BehaviorabstractWith the recent proliferation of physical game systems in entertainment contexts, gaining a better understanding of why users are willing to utilize physical game systems has become an important topic for practitioners and academics. The current study attempts to explore the determinants of behavioral intention pertaining to the use of physical tennis games from the perspective of both hedonic and utilitarian motivations. A research model is proposed based on the existing literature. Data collected from 124 experienced players of physical tennis games are tested against the research model using the partial least squares approach. The results indicate that both perceived exercise utility and perceived enjoyment have a significant influence on behavioral intention. In addition, perceived motion-sensing, challenge, interactivity, ease of use, and design aesthetics are found to have a significant effect on perceived enjoyment. More specifically, perceived motion-sensing is observed to be the antecedent of perceived exercise utility. The findings of this study provide several important implications pertaining to both the research and practice of physical game system development and diffusion. | 2008 | A Model of Intraorganizational Knowledge Sharing: Development and Initial TestabstractPrior research has reported different knowledge management processes, considering each universally applicable. This article proposes that context influences company knowledge sharing policies and practices and their effectiveness. Through a literature review, a model of intraorganizational knowledge sharing is proposed. Within this model, three organizational antecedents of knowledge sharing policies and practices are included, namely: top management knowledge values, an innovation business strategy, and perceived environmental uncertainty. Further, top management knowledge values and knowledge sharing policies and practices are hypothesized to lead to knowledge sharing effectiveness. The model was constructed by taking into account industrial contexts in Taiwan, and was examined using survey data collected from companies in Taiwan. The results showed that top management knowledge values and innovation business strategy are positively and significantly associated with knowledge sharing policies and practices, which in turn lead to knowledge sharing effectiveness. Finally, this article identifies and discusses implications for international information management. I-Chieh Hsu, Yi-Shun Wang |
