| 2026 | Computing Class Groups and Unit Groups in MagmaabstractWe describe the computation of class groups and unit groups of number fields as implemented in Magma (V2.29). After quickly reviewing the main algorithms based on factor bases, relation collection, and analytic class number evaluation, we distinguish their behavior across formalizable, rigorous, GRH-conditional, and heuristic regimes. | 2012 | Corrigendum: Algorithmic Enumeration of Ideal Classes for Quaternion OrdersabstractThis note corrects a mathematical error in the article “Algorithmic enumeration of ideal classes for quaternion orders” [ SIAM J. Comput., 39 (2010), pp. 1714--1747]. Markus Kirschmer, John Voight |

| 2010 | Algorithmic Enumeration of Ideal Classes for Quaternion OrdersabstractWe provide algorithms to count and enumerate representatives of the (right) ideal classes of an Eichler order in a quaternion algebra defined over a number field. We analyze the run time of these algorithms and consider several related problems, including the computation of two-sided ideal classes, isomorphism classes of orders, connecting ideals for orders, and ideal principalization. We conclude by giving the complete list of definite Eichler orders with class number at most 2. Markus Kirschmer, John Voight |
