2025 A Proposal of Policy Routing per End-Host in IPv6 Site Multi-homing using NPTv6
abstract
Reliable Internet connectivity is essential, even for small businesses and K–12 schools. The Japanese national education program for "1 device for 1 student with a high-speed network" in schools requires highly reliable Internet access. Site multi-homing —connecting a network to multiple ISPs —is an effective solution. Routing policies in the site multi-homing are expected to be applied per end-host, ensuring optimal ISP selection and enhances network resilience. This paper proposes a policy routing method enabling per-end-host first-hop router selection in IPv6 site multi-homing with NPTv6. The core concept is to shift upstream ISP selection from source address selection to first-hop router selection, enabling control through the dynamic transmission of RAs via the RA controller. We present the control plane design of the proposed method. The paper also shows its effectiveness in small-scale environments, such as site multi-homing without BGP, based on evaluations using the prototype system.

2022 Development of a window positioning method considering network characteristics for a mobile tiled display
abstract
A Mobile Tiled Display (MTD) is a technology to realize a large virtual display using multiple mobile terminals. Since a MTD which composed of a group of terminals with different characteristics, differences in performance among terminals and differences in the network environment affect the video playback. In this study, we propose a MTD configuration method that controls the window composition of terminals in consideration of terminal performance and network characteristics. In addition, we develop a novel MTD system that incorporates our proposed method. The developed system aims to reduce the impact of differences in terminal characteristics by placing terminals with good communication quality in the center of the screen. As an evaluation of the developed system, we investigated the time over-head of the initial window positioning configuration. The result shows that there is no problem in displaying the video in MTD, although it takes about 4.5 seconds in the case of 16 terminals. Moreover, we prepare several MTD videos using the developed system, and conduct questionnaires for subjective evaluation of the viewing experience from 60 people. and we clarified the screen composition method we developed was effective.

2018 A Secure Sharing System for Cloud Desktop Applications Migrating with Optimized User Experience
abstract
It is becoming easy to share cloud based desktop applications for group work among multiple users accessing them from any locations by advances in virtualization technology. This kind of sharing requires a secure mechanism for authenticating users to provide a good user experience under the group work. We have been developing a secure sharing system for cloud desktop applications migrating with those requirements. The proposed system includes a user authority authentication mechanism using attribute-based encryption and IP mobility mechanism migrating desktop applications from the current cloud to the other one to improve the quality of the user's interaction. This paper describes implementation of the proposed system and the specification of a prototype system.

2018 Development and Evaluation of the MEC Platform Supporting the Edge Instance Mobility
abstract
With the rapid spread of various services by IoT(Internet of Things) / CPS (Cyber-physical System), the growing requirement of the edge computing platform for minimizing communication latency is inevitable on the Internet. These platforms generally have to support migrating the edge server instance available for use by nearby mobile devices. In this paper, we design the MEC (Mobile Edge Computing/Multi-access Edge Computing) platform which brings cooperative processing between an edge server and a mobile device. Our approach is focusing on the requirement for continuous and transparent communication as well as latency reduction to improve the offload processing between the edge server and the mobile device. The proposed platform uses an IP mobility support gateway at each network domain to achieve this requirement, and establish communication relationship among these gateways by controlling via orchestrators. We also implement the prototype system, indicate its effectiveness from the viewpoints of throughput and processing time.

2002 Collaborative Learning by Distance Chorus on the Internet
abstract
Broadband networks give us new learning style using high-quality multimedia communications. As an educational application, the authors realize a distance chorus between two elementary schools on the Internet. They consider technical problems to realize a distance chorus and show its solution using an audio transmission system developed by them. Also, they discuss the impact of active collaboration such as a distance chorus in distance learning. Then they describe the process of a special study including a distance chorus for the purpose to improve communication ability of students considering educational significance of a distance chorus. Finally, they show some evaluations and its consideration.
