2023 Catch Me If You Can: Demonstrating Laser Tethering with Highly Mobile Targets
abstract
Conventional wisdom holds that laser-based systems cannot handle mobility due to the strong directionality of laser light. We challenge this belief by presenting Lasertag, a generic system framework that tightly integrates laser steering with optical tracking to maintain laser connectivity with high-velocity targets. Lasertag creates a constantly connected, laser-based tether between the Lasertag core unit and a remote target, irrespective of the target's movement. Key elements of Lasertag include (1) a novel optical design that superimposes the optical paths of a steerable laser beam and an image sensor, (2) a lightweight optical tracking mechanism for passive retroreflective markers, (3) an automated mapping method to translate scene points to laser steering commands, and (4) a predictive steering algorithm that overcomes limited image sensor frame rates and laser steering delays to quadruple the steering rate up to 151 Hz. We demonstrate Lasertag's tethering capabilty with various mobile targets, such as a VR headset worn during active game play, a remotely-controlled moving robot, and more. Lasertag paves the way for laser applications in highly mobile settings.

2023 Simulation of Space-borne Digital Phased Array Anntenna
abstract
As the high demand for super-large connection, ultra-broad bandwidth and ultra-low latency of the future 6G mobile communication system, massive MIMO technology is crucial to the future development of IMT industry. The application of space-borne digital phased array antenna makes satellite communication feasible achieving massive MIMO. This paper mainly deals with simulation methodology of satellite- borne phased array antennas. It is appied to such simulations as coexistence, system, link and so on.

2021 Sharing and Compatibility Studies of EESS(active) and IMT System in 10-10.5 GHz
abstract
As the basic strategic resource of wireless communication, spectrum is crucial to the development of both IMT industry and satellite communication. In order to promote spectrum utilization and better develop the IMT system, WRC-23 1.2 issues are deliberating to identify frequency bands for future development of International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT),5G and 6G,including the possibility of making additional divisions for mobile services as the main business. This paper mainly deals with the study of co-channel interference of IMT system to the Earth exploration satellite service (EESS) (active) in 10-10.5 GHz frequency band. As a result of study, IMT system and EESS(active) can sharing this frequency band.

2010 ATAC: a 1000-core cache-coherent processor with on-chip optical network
abstract
Based on current trends, multicore processors will have 1000 cores or more within the next decade. However, their promise of increased performance will only be realized if their inherent scaling and programming challenges are overcome. Fortunately, recent advances in nanophotonic device manufacturing are making CMOS-integrated optics a reality-interconnect technology which can provide significantly more bandwidth at lower power than conventional electrical signaling. Optical interconnect has the potential to enable massive scaling and preserve familiar programming models in future multicore chips.
