1995 Defuzzifier Circuits Using Resonant Tunneling Diodes
abstract
The use of Resonant Tunneling Diodes (RTD) for defuzzification applications is described. The proposed circuit uses the unique multiple peak folding V-I characteristic of an RTD to produce the output membership function. The center of gravity method is used for calculating the crisp output. Conductance multiplier with feedback circuitry forms the centroid circuit. The proposed scheme reduces circuit complexity compared with the conventional digital microprocessor and analog signal processing circuits.

1995 Modeling hysteretic current-voltage characteristics for resonant tunneling diodes
abstract
A simple macro circuit is described to model the hysteretic current-voltage characteristics of resonant tunneling diodes for SPICE simulation. The switch model in SPICE can be utilized to simulate the hysteretic characteristics. A multistate "hysteretic" memory cell based on resonant tunneling diodes with hysteretic current-voltage characteristic is also described and simulated using the proposed macro circuit model. The technique can also be used to model any hysteretic characteristic in general.>

1993 Multiple-Valued Counter
abstract
The use of resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs) in multivalued counters, which greatly simplify the counter circuitry, is described. In order to achieve this implementation, a unique state-dependent current source is used to successively trigger RTD-based counter.>
