2021 Data-Driven Agile Requirements Elicitation through the Lenses of Situational Method Engineering
abstract
Ubiquitous digitalization has led to the continuous generation of large amounts of digital data, both in organizations and in society at large. In the requirements engineering community, there has been a growing interest in considering digital data as new sources for requirements elicitation, in addition to stake-holders. The volume, dynamics, and variety of data makes iterative requirements elicitation increasingly continuous, but also unstructured and complex, which current agile methods are unable to consider and manage in a systematic and efficient manner. There is also the need to support software evolution by enabling a synergy of stakeholder-driven requirements elicitation and management with data-driven approaches. In this study, we propose extension of agile requirements elicitation by applying situational method engineering. The research is grounded on two studies in the business domains of video games and online banking.

2013 Constructing method families based on the variability analysis: Poster paper
abstract
Situational Method Engineering (SME) is constantly looking for new ways to facilitate situation-specific method construction in practice. We have developed the notion of method family to attain this goal. Our inspiration comes from Software Product Line Engineering (SPLE), which is developing solutions that can be easily adapted to a specific context and by reusing existing knowledge. In this paper, we introduce the process guiding the construction of method families based on the analysis of the methods variability.

2012 Applying transdisciplinarity principles in the information services co-creation process
abstract
Increasing popularity of the notion of service in the enterprise applications development leads to the new types of inter-organizational collaborations. We can observe a shift in this collaboration from simple exchange of services to the co-creation of transdisciplinary services offering a new and unique value to the involved partners. In this paper we define the notion of transdisciplinary information service and we discuss the main principles, namely communication, collaboration, co-innovation, and agility, to be considered in the transdisciplinary information services co-creation and we identify the existing approaches and techniques that support the implementation of these principles. Finally, we introduce our proposal for the elaboration of a method family supporting the co-creation of transdisciplinary information services. This method family aims to provide a flexible and agile process model based on transdisciplinarity principles and allowing to combine method chunks from different disciplines in order to support collaborative creativity, modeling and development of transdisciplinary services.

2011 Shifts in foci and challenges in the field of information systems development methods
abstract
Continuous changes and extensions of enterprise information systems (IS) are the main causes of their fragmentation and redundancy. The notion of service and service-oriented engineering emerges as a prospective approach to deal with IS evolution. The shift form IS to information services systems (ISS) requires to re-think the fundamentals of IS development methods and to re-align them with the brave new ISS development practice. In this paper we analyze this shift and we identify the challenges entailed in the field of IS development methods.

2008 A framework for supporting management in distributed information systems development
abstract
Increasing tendency towards globalisation and outsourcing of software and information systems (IS) development poses a number of challenges and difficulties that companies have to deal with. Quite a few studies have been conducted which have identified a set of problems as well as potential benefits of distributed systems development. In this paper we propose a framework characterising the domain of distributed information systems development (DISD) which aims to help project managers to analyse DISD project situation, identify potential problems and therefore evaluate project risks. Besides, the framework aims to indicate prospective solutions to each type of problem.
