| 2020 | Gaussian Maximizers for Quantum Gaussian Observables and EnsemblesabstractIn this paper we prove two results related to the Gaussian optimizers conjecture for multimode bosonic system with gauge symmetry. First, we argue that the classical capacity of an arbitrary Gaussian observable is attained on a Gaussian ensemble of coherent states. This generalizes results previously known for heterodyne measurement in one mode. By using this fact and continuous variable version of ensemble-observable duality, we prove an old conjecture that accessible information of arbitrary Gaussian ensemble is attained on the multimode generalization of the heterodyne measurement. | 2013 | Capacities of Gaussian classical-quantum channelsabstractIn the present paper we introduce and study Bosonic Gaussian classical-quantum (c-q) channels; the embedding of the classical input into quantum is always possible and therefore the classical entanglement-assisted capacity Ceaunder appropriate input constraint is well defined. We prove a general property of entropy increase for weak complementary channel, that implies the equality C = Cea(where C is the unassisted capacity) for certain class of c-q Gaussian channels under appropriate energy-type constraint. On the other hand, we show by explicit example that the inequality Ceais not unusual for constrained c-q Gaussian channel. Alexander S. Holevo |

| 2011 | The entropy gain of quantum channelsabstractIn this paper we study the entropy gain H(Φ[ρ]) - H(ρ) for infinite-dimensional quantum channels Φ. We show that unlike finite-dimensional case where the minimal entropy gain is always nonpositive, there are channels with positive minimal entropy gain. We obtain the new lower bound and compute the minimal entropy gain for a broad class of Bosonic Gaussian channels by proving that the infimum is attained on the Gaussian states. Alexander S. Holevo |

| 2000 | Reliability function of general classical-Quantum channelabstractIn information theory, the reliability function and its bounds, describing the exponential behavior of the error probability, are important quantitative characteristics of the channel performance. From a more general point of view, these bounds provide certain measures of distinguishability of a given set of classical states. In a previous paper, quantum analogs of the random coding and expurgation lower bounds for the case of pure signal states were introduced. Here we discuss the case of general quantum states, in particular, we prove the expurgation bound conjectured previously and find the quantum cutoff rate for arbitrary mixed signal states. | 1998 | The Capacity of the Quantum Channel with General Signal StatesabstractIt is shown that the capacity of a classical-quantum channel with arbitrary (possibly mixed) states equals the maximum of the entropy bound with respect to all a priori distributions. This completes the recent result of Hausladen, Jozsa, Schumacher, Westmoreland, and Wootters (1996), who proved the equality for the pure state channel. Alexander S. Holevo |

| 1975 | Some statistical problems for quantum Gaussian statesabstractOptimal quantum measurements of regression coefficients in the presence of quantum Gaussian noise are considered. The best unbiased measurements are found in a particular case. General solutions for the multimode Bayes problem and the problem of optimal joint measurement of canonical observables are obtained, including explicit characterization of the optimal measurement.
