| 2026 | DINOv3-Powered Multi-Task Foundation Model for Quantitative Remote Sensing Estimation (Student Abstract)abstractQuantitative remote sensing estimation is critical for environmental monitoring, providing continuous measures of vegetation indices, canopy height, and carbon stock. Traditional radiative-transfer models and empirical regressions require expert knowledge and generalize poorly, while deep learning methods remain task-specific. We propose SatelliteCalculator+, a DINOv3-powered multi-task foundation model for continuous regression of spectral and structural variables. The framework combines prompt-driven cross-attentive adapters with lightweight MLP decoders, enabling efficient dense prediction from frozen features. To overcome limited supervision, we synthesize over one million paired samples from SPOT 6/7 imagery using physically defined formulas. On the Open-Canopy dataset, SatelliteCalculator+ achieves competitive accuracy across eight ecological variables while reducing inference cost, demonstrating the promise of self-supervised transformers and scalable multi-task learning for large-scale Earth observation. | 2025 | MammoSegNet: a convolutional network analysis for segmenting tumor tissue masses in digital mammograms of breast cancer patientsabstractAbstract Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity worldwide, underscoring the need for advanced diagnostic tools to improve early detection and treatment outcomes. This study introduces MammoSegNet, a novel convolutional neural network architecture optimized for precisely segmenting mammographic images. The proposed MammoSegNet incorporates Inception-ResNet blocks, Squeeze-and-Excitation (SE) modules, and dilated convolutions to enable multi-scale feature extraction and efficient attention refinement while maintaining low computational complexity. MammoSegNet performance was rigorously evaluated on BCDR-D01 and INbreast datasets to examine its robustness and generalization. Using stratified fivefold cross-validation, the model was trained on BCDR-D01 and tested on the unseen INbreast dataset through Monte Carlo cross-validation. Preprocessing techniques, including Region of Interest (ROI) Isolation to concentrate on relevant areas, Normalization to standardized pixel intensities, and Data Augmentation to expand the dataset and enhance the model’s robustness, were employed. Additionally, a specialized image enhancement method called peak feature intensity transformation (PFIT) was designed to amplify diagnostic features while preserving structural integrity. Comparative evaluations confirmed MammoSegNet’s superior performance across metrics, achieving 97% accuracy on BCDR-D01 and 95% on INbreast. Statistical t-tests validated these improvements, and visual heatmaps demonstrated the model’s effectiveness in isolating tumor regions. These findings establish MammoSegNet as a promising tool for enhancing breast cancer diagnostic accuracy and reliability in medical applications. F. M. | 2022 | A Fog-Centric Secure Cloud Storage SchemeabstractCloud computing is now being utilized as a prospective alternative for catering storage service. Security issues of cloud storage are a potential deterrent in its widespread adoption. Privacy breach, malicious modification, and data loss are emerging cyber threats against cloud storage. Recently, a fog server based three-layer architecture has been presented for secure storage employing multiple clouds. The underlying techniques used are Hash-Solomon code and customized hash algorithm in order to attain the goal. However, it resulted in loss of smaller portion of data to cloud servers and failed to provide better modification detection and data recoverability. This paper proposes a novel fog-centric secure cloud storage scheme to protect data against unauthorized access, modification, and destruction. To prevent illegitimate access, the proposed scheme employs a new technique$Xor - Combination$to conceal data. Moreover,$Block - Management$outsources the outcomes of$Xor - Combination$to prevent malicious retrieval and to ensure better recoverability in case of data loss. Simultaneously, we propose a technique based on hash algorithm in order to facilitate modification detection with higher probability. We demonstrate robustness of the proposed scheme through security analysis. Experimental results validate performance supremacy of the proposed scheme compared to contemporary solutions in terms of data processing time. M. A. | 2021 | CLASS: Cloud Log Assuring Soundness and Secrecy Scheme for Cloud ForensicsabstractUser activity logs can be a valuable source of information in cloud forensic investigations; hence, ensuring the reliability and integrity of such logs is crucial. Most existing solutions for secure logging are designed for conventional systems rather than the complexity of a cloud environment. In this paper, we propose the Cloud Log Assuring Soundness and Secrecy (CLASS) process as an alternative scheme for the securing of logs in a cloud environment. In CLASS, logs are encrypted using the individual user's public key so that only the user is able to decrypt the content. In order to prevent unauthorized modification of the log, we generate proof of past log (PPL) using Rabin's fingerprint and Bloom filter. Such an approach reduces verification time significantly. Findings from our experiments deploying CLASS in OpenStack demonstrate the utility of CLASS in a real-world context. M. A. | 2020 | Local descriptor for retinal fundus image registrationabstractA feature‐based retinal image registration (RIR) technique aligns multiple fundus images and composed of pre‐processing, feature point extraction, feature descriptor, matching and geometrical transformation. Challenges in RIR include difference in scaling, intensity and rotation between images. The scale and intensity differences can be minimised with consistent imaging setup and image enhancement during the pre‐processing, respectively. The rotation can be addressed with feature descriptor method that robust to varying rotation. Therefore, a feature descriptor method is proposed based on statistical properties (FiSP) to describe the circular region surrounding the feature point. From the experiments on public Fundus Image Registration dataset, FiSP established 99.227% average correct matches for rotations between 0° and 180°. Then, FiSP is paired with Harris corner, scale‐invariant feature transform (SIFT), speeded‐up robust feature (SURF), Ghassabi's and D‐Saddle feature point extraction methods to assess its registration performance and compare with the existing feature‐based RIR techniques, namely generalised dual‐bootstrap iterative closet point (GDB‐ICP), Harris‐partial intensity invariant feature descriptor (PIIFD), Ghassabi's–SIFT, H‐M 16, H‐M 17 and D‐Saddle–histogram of oriented gradients (HOG). The combination of SIFT–FiSP registered 64.179% of the image pairs and significantly outperformed other techniques with mean difference between 25.373 and 60.448% ( p = <0.001*). | 2019 | A new image size reduction model for an efficient visual sensor networkabstractImage size reduction for energy-efficient transmission without losing quality is critical in Visual Sensor Networks (VSNs). The proposed method finds overlapping regions using camera locations, which eliminate unfocussed regions from the input images. The sharpness for the overlapped regions is estimated to find the Dominant Overlapping Region (DOR). The proposed model partitions further the DOR into sub-DORs according to capacity of the cameras. To reduce noise effects from the sub-DOR, we propose to perform a Median operation, which results in a Compressed Significant Region (CSR). For non-DOR, we obtain Sobel edges, which reduces the size of the images down to ambinary form. The CSR and Sobel edges of the non-DORs are sent by a VSN. Experimental results and a comparative study with the state-of-the-art methods shows that the proposed model outperforms the existing methods in terms of quality, energy consumption and network lifetime. | 2017 | An Estimation of QoS for Classified Based Approach and Nonclassified Based Approach of Wireless Agriculture Monitoring Network Using a Network ModelabstractWireless Sensor Network (WSN) can facilitate the process of monitoring the crops through agriculture monitoring network. However, it is challenging to implement the agriculture monitoring network in large scale and large distributed area. Typically, a large and dense network as a form of multihop network is used to establish communication between source and destination. This network continuously monitors the crops without sensitivity classification that can lead to message collision and packets drop. Retransmissions of drop messages can increase the energy consumption and delay. Therefore, to ensure a high quality of service (QoS), we propose an agriculture monitoring network that monitors the crops based on their sensitivity conditions wherein the crops with higher sensitivity are monitored constantly, while less sensitive crops are monitored occasionally. This approach selects a set of nodes rather than utilizing all the nodes in the network which reduces the power consumption in each node and network delay. The QoS of the proposed classified based approach is compared with the nonclassified approach in two scenarios; the backoff periods are changed in the first scenario while the numbers of nodes are changed in the second scenario. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms the nonclassified approach on different test scenarios. Ismail Bin Ahmedy, Hisham A. Shehadeh, Mohd Yamani Idna Bin Idris |

| 2016 | A comparison study on node clustering techniques used in target tracking WSNs for efficient data aggregationabstractAbstract Wireless sensor applications are susceptible to energy constraints. Most of the energy is consumed in communication between wireless nodes. Clustering and data aggregation are the two widely used strategies for reducing energy usage and increasing the lifetime of wireless sensor networks. In target tracking applications, large amount of redundant data is produced regularly. Hence, deployment of effective data aggregation schemes is vital to eliminate data redundancy. This work aims to conduct a comparative study of various research approaches that employ clustering techniques for efficiently aggregating data in target tracking applications as selection of an appropriate clustering algorithm may reflect positive results in the data aggregation process. In this paper, we have highlighted the gains of the existing schemes for node clustering‐based data aggregation along with a detailed discussion on their advantages and issues that may degrade the performance. Also, the boundary issues in each type of clustering technique have been analyzed. Simulation results reveal that the efficacy and validity of these clustering‐based data aggregation algorithms are limited to specific sensing situations only, while failing to exhibit adaptive behavior in various other environmental conditions. | 2014 | Passive video forgery detection techniques: A surveyabstractTechnological advancement of various video and image processing tools has made tempering of digital video easy and faster. This review paper focuses on passive techniques that are employed for detecting forgeries in a digital video. Passive forgery detection techniques are methods used for detecting the authenticity of a video without depending on pre-embedded information. The techniques exploit the use of statistical or mathematical properties that are distorted as a result of video tempering for forgery detection. Passive video forgery detection approach has a great prospect in multimedia security, information security and pattern recognition. In this paper, we divide passive techniques for video forensics into three categories; Statistical correlation of video features, frame-based for detecting statistical anomalies, and the inconsistency features of different digital equipment. The discussion also covers the trends, limitations and idea for improvements of passive forgery detection techniques.
