2025 MVCBRec: Multi-View Contrastive Learning for Bundle Recommendation
abstract
Since bundled recommendation can meet various demands of users in one stop, it has always been a research hotspot in the recommendation field. Recent methods usually construct bundle view and item view based on user-bundle interaction and user-item interaction information, and learn representations for users and bundles from these two views. However, they all ignore the affiliation information between bundles and items, which will lead to serious information loss. To address this, we propose MVCBRec, a novel Multi-View Contrastive learning Bundle Recommendation model. It first learns the comprehensive representations of users and bundles on three views by constructing user-bundle (U-B) graph, user-item (U-I) graph and bundle-item (B-I) graph respectively. Multi-view contrastive learning is then used to model the cooperative associations between the three views. Multi-view contrastive learning encourages the alignment of the same user/bundle between different views can extract complementary information, and increases the dispersion of different users/bundles can enhance the self-discrimination ability. Extensive experiments on three public datasets show that our method outperforms SOTA baseline by 4.04% ~ 21.14% on recall. In addition, various ablation studies are performed to unveil the mystery of the key components.

2023 UNION: Fault-tolerant Cooperative Computing in Opportunistic Mobile Edge Cloud
abstract
Opportunistic Mobile Edge Cloud in which opportunistically connected mobile devices run in a cooperative way to augment the capability of a single device has become a timely and essential topic due to its widespread prospect under resource-constrained scenarios (e.g., disaster rescue). Because of the mobility of devices and the uncertainty of environments, it is inevitable that failures occur among the mobile nodes. Being different from existing studies that mainly focus on either data offloading or computing offloading among mobile devices in an ideal environment, we concentrate on how to guarantee the reliability of the task execution with the consideration of both data offloading and computing offloading under opportunistically connected mobile edge cloud. To this end, an optimization of mobile task offloading when considering reliability is formulated. Then, we propose a probabilistic model for task offloading and a reliability model for task execution, which estimates the probability of successful execution for a specific opportunistic path and describes the dynamic reliability of the task execution. Based on these models, a heuristic algorithm UNION (Fa u lt-Tolera n t Cooperat i ve C o mputi n g) is proposed to solve this NP-hard problem. Theoretical analysis shows that the complexity of UNION is 𝒪(|ℐ| 2 +|𝒩|) with guaranteeing the reliability of 0.99. Also, extensive experiments on real-world traces validate the superiority of the proposed algorithm UNION over existing typical strategies.

2019 Grouping-Based Grant-Free Random Access Based on Statistical Distribution of User Rates
abstract
Multiple access technology is facing a great challenge posed by the upcoming massive Machine-Type Communication (mMTC). Traditional grant-based random access (RA) schemes are not competent to tackle the massive connectivity and small infrequent data packets of mMTC, because of the intolerable signalling overhead and delay. Grant-free random access joint with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) may be suitable for the mMTC services as it reduces the signaling overhead. However, user collisions are still possible and damage the system's performances. In this paper, we propose a grouping-based grant-free random access based on statistical user rate information in which the base station (BS) divides MTDs into several groups according to the users' rate distribution and allocates proper radio resources for each group. BS broadcasts this grouping determinations to all MTDs with a small amount of signaling and MTD then randomly selects a group to access the channel on their own instant data rates. We analyze the blocking rate and provide an optimization method for deciding the grouping policy. Simulations prove the proposed scheme outperforms the traditional non-grouping RA even if there are some estimation errors.

2018 Relief generation from 3D scenes guided by geometric texture richness
abstract
Typically, relief generation from an input 3D scene is limited to either bas-relief or high-relief modeling. This paper presents a novel unified scheme for synthesizing reliefs guided by the geometric texture richness of 3D scenes; it can generate both basand high-reliefs. The type of relief and compression coefficient can be specified according to the user’s artistic needs. We use an energy minimization function to obtain the surface reliefs, which contains a geometry preservation term and an edge constraint term. An edge relief measure determined by geometric texture richness and edge z -depth is utilized to achieve a balance between these two terms. During relief generation, the geometry preservation term keeps local surface detail in the original scenes, while the edge constraint term maintains regions of the original models with rich geometric texture. Elsewhere, in highreliefs, the edge constraint term also preserves depth discontinuities in the higher parts of the original scenes. The energy function can be discretized to obtain a sparse linear system. The reliefs are obtained by solving it by an iterative process. Finally, we apply non-linear compression to the relief to meet the user’s artistic needs. Experimental results show the method’s effectiveness for generating both bas- and high-reliefs for complex 3D scenes in a unified manner.

2010 Exploiting the reuse supplied by loop-dependent stream references for stream processors
abstract
Memory accesses limit the performance of stream processors. By exploiting the reuse of data held in the Stream Register File (SRF), an on-chip, software controlled storage, the number of memory accesses can be reduced. In current stream compilers, reuse exploitation is only attempted for simple stream references, those whose start and end are known. Compiler analysis, from outside of stream processors, does not directly enable the consideration of other more complex stream references. In this article, we propose a transformation to automatically optimize stream programs to exploit the reuse supplied by loop-dependent stream references. The transformation is based on three results: lemmas identifying the reuse supplied by stream references, a new abstract representation called the Stream Reuse Graph (SRG) depicting the identified reuse, and the optimization of the SRG for our transformation. Both the reuse between the whole sequences accessed by stream references and between partial sequences is exploited in the article. In particular, partial reuse and its treatment are quite new and have never, to the best of our knowledge, appeared in scalar and vector processing. At the same time, reusing streams increases the pressure on the SRF, and this presents a problem of which reuse should be exploited within limited SRF capacity. We extend our analysis to achieve this objective. Finally, we implement our techniques based on the StreamC/KernelC compiler that has been optimized with the best existing compilation techniques for stream processors. Experimental results show a resultant speed-up of 1.14 to 2.54 times using a range of benchmarks.

2009 Program Optimization of Array-Intensive SPEC2k Benchmarks on Multithreaded GPU Using CUDA and Brook+
abstract
Graphic Processing Unit (GPU), with many light-weight data-parallel cores, can provide substantial parallel computing power to accelerate several general purpose applications. Both the AMD and NVIDIA corps provide their specific high performance GPUs and software platforms. As the floating-point computing capacity increases continually, the problem of ``memory-wall'' becomes more serious, especially for array-intensive applications. In this paper, we optimize and implement two SPEC2k benchmarks mgrid and swim on multithreaded GPU using CUDA and Brook+. In order to reduce the pressure on off-chip memory, we make use of data locality in multi-level memory hierarchies and hide long memory access latency via double-buffers. To balance inter-thread parallelism and intra-thread locality, we further tune thread granularity for each kernel and empirically study the best equilibrium point for this problem. Flow control instruction can significantly impact the effective instruction throughput. Oriented to this problem, we introduce a diverge elimination technology to convert condition expression into computing operation. Through all the optimizations, we gain the speedup of 10×-34× to the CPU implementation on the GPUs of AMD and NVIDIA respectively. Finally, we summarize and compares the GPUs from AMD and NVIDIA in hardware and software.

2009 Program Optimization of Stencil Based Application on the GPU-Accelerated System
abstract
Graphic Processing Unit (GPU), with many light-weight data-parallel cores, can provide substantial parallel computational power to accelerate general purpose applications. But the powerful computing capacity could not be fully utilized for memory-intensive applications, which are limited by off-chip memory bandwidth and latency. Stencil computation has abundant parallelism and low computational intensity which make it a useful architectural evaluation benchmark. In this paper, we propose some memory optimizations for a stencil based application mgrid from SPEC 2K benchmarks. Through exploiting data locality in 3-level memory hierarchies and tuning the thread granularity, we reduce the pressure on the off-chip memory bandwidth. To hide the long off-chip memory access latency, we further prefetch data during computation through double-buffer. In order to fully exploit the CPU-GPU heterogeneous system, we redistribute the computation between these two computing resource. Through all these optimizations, we gain 24.2x speedup compared to the simple mapping version, and get as high as 34.3x speedup when compared with a CPU implementation.
