| 2025 | Review of Advancements in Depression Detection Using Social Media DataabstractA large population embraced social media to share thoughts, emotions, and daily experiences through text, images, audio, or video posts. This user-generated content (UGC) serves various purposes, including user profiling, sentiment analysis, and disease detection or tracking. Notably, researchers recognized the potential of UGC for assessing mental health due to its unobtrusive and real-time monitoring capabilities. Recent reviews on depression identification from textual UGC using AI models covered tools and techniques but overlooked critical components such as datasets, lexicons, features, and subtasks, which are essential for understanding the progress and tasks undertaken. This survey adopts a systematic approach and formulates five research questions to examine the relevant literature concerning these elements. Additionally, it organizes machine learning and deep learning (ML/DL) training features from textual UGC in a hierarchical manner and maps the literature on depression detection into various subtasks. The review highlights that despite the prevalence studies, datasets are limited in both quantity and size, with many relying on less reliable ground truth collection methods such as self-reported diagnosis statements (SRDS). Furthermore, the review identifies an overemphasis on certain textual features, such as n-grams and affective elements, while others, such as life events, egocentric graphs, and intervention/coping style, remain largely unexplored. It is crucial for practical AI depression detection systems to develop expertise in tasks such as severity, symptom detection, and explainable/interpretable depression analysis to instill confidence and trust among users. | 2020 | Voting-based intrusion detection framework for securing software-defined networksabstractSummary Software‐defined networking (SDN) is an emerging paradigm in enterprise networks because of its flexible and cost‐effective nature. By decoupling control and data plane, SDN can provide various defense solutions for securing futuristic networks. However, the architectural design and characteristics of SDN attract several severe attacks. Distributed denial of service (DDoS) is considered as a major destructive cyber attack that makes the services of controller unavailable for its legitimate users. In this research article, an intrusion detection framework is proposed to detect DDoS attacks against SDN. The proposed framework relies on voting‐based ensemble model for the attack detection. Ensemble model is a combination of multiple machine learning classifiers for prediction of final results. In this research article, we propose and analyze three ensemble models named as Voting‐CMN, Voting‐RKM, and Voting‐CKM particularly to benchmarking datasets such as UNSW‐NB15, CICIDS2017, and NSL‐KDD, respectively. For validation of the proposed models, a cross‐validation technique is used with the prediction algorithms. The effectiveness of proposed models is evaluated in terms of prominent metrics (accuracy, precision, recall, and F‐measure). Experimental results indicate that the proposed models achieve better performance in terms of accuracy as compared with other existing models. Rochak Swami, Mayank Dave, Virender Ranga |

| 2013 | Antecedence Graph Approach to Checkpointing for Fault Tolerance in Mobile Agent SystemsabstractThe flexibility offered by mobile agents is quite noticeable in distributed computing environments. However, the greater flexibility of the mobile agent paradigm compared to the client/server computing paradigm comes at an additional threats since agent systems are prone to failures originating from bad communication, security attacks, agent server crashes, system resources unavailability, network congestion, or even deadlock situations. In such events, mobile agents either get lost or damaged (partially or totally) during execution. In this paper, we propose parallel checkpointing approach based on the use of antecedence graphs for providing fault tolerance in mobile agent systems. During normal computation message transmission, the dependency information among mobile agents is recorded in the form of antecedence graphs by participating mobile agents of mobile agent group. When a checkpointing procedure begins, the initiator concurrently informs relevant mobile agents, which minimizes the identifying time. The proposed scheme utilizes the checkpointed information for fault tolerance which is stored in form of antecedence graphs. In case of failures, using checkpointed information, the antecedence graphs and message logs are regenerated for recovery and then normal operation continued. Moreover, compared with the existing schemes, our algorithm involves the minimum number of mobile agents during the identifying and checkpoiting procedure, which leads to the improvement of the system performance. In addition, the proposed algorithm is a domino-free checkpointing algorithm, which is especially desirable for mobile agent systems. Quantitative analysis and experimental simulation show that our algorithm outperforms other coordinated checkpointing schemes in terms of the identifying time and the number of blocked mobile agents and then can provide a better system performance. The main contribution of the proposed checkpointing scheme is the enhancement of graph-based approach in terms of considerable improvement by reducing message overhead, execution, and recovery times. | 2009 | Change Management and Software Reuse Supportive 'Genetic Information System Development and Maintenance' ModelabstractThe aim of the present research work is to develop an information system development process and a model for the development of new generation information systems. New age information systems are those information systems that are capable of fulfilling the demand of highly dynamic information requirements derived from the competitive environments of business organizations and support controlling the complexity involved in their maintenance and software configuration management. Present research work analyzes the theoretical, financial, technical and practical problems related to the information system development, maintenance and change management to propose an appropriate system development process and a model for the development as well as maintenance of information systems with maximum software reuse. The proposed system development process and model provide inherent support to the business organizations in having total control over information system development, maintenance and software configuration management.
