1983 Optimal point process estimators of Gaussian optical field intensities
abstract
Stochastic equations of evolution are given for the intensity of a Gaussian optical field, the posterior conditional probability density for the field intensity based on observations of a doubly stochastic Poisson counting process, and approximately minimum mean-square error estimates of the field intensity.

1977 Direct detection optical communication receiver performance for intensity subcarrier frequency shift keying (Corresp.)
abstract
The performance of recently developed doubly stochastic Poisson process filtering and detection procedures, as experimentally measured for a direct detection laser intensity modulated subcarrier frequency shift keying communication format, is reported.
