2015 Network and system management object modeling for smart grid infrastructure
abstract
Smart grid is an electricity network to monitor and control all its physical environments of electricity infrastructure in a fully automated way. As the importance of reliable energy utility infrastructure is growing, various security countermeasures to protect power system from security threats have been suggested, whereas there were less consideration on security by design, from the bottom system modeling level. Thus, this paper first highlights the international security standard on network and system management (NSM) requirements suggested from International Electronical Committee (IEC). Then this paper proposes significance of security by design, especially the security object modeling as the most important factor in smart grid environment. In our approach, we propose a common NSM objects for IEC-61850 protocol based substation automation environment. Finally, we present the setup procedures to implement and test NSM objects for IEC 61850-based digital substation in Korean environment.

2007 Design and Implementation of the UsMSS : User-centric secure Multimedia Service System in Intelligent Home
abstract
In this paper, we propose UsMSS (User-centric secure Multimedia Service System) which provides interoperability of multimedia contents among incompatible devices in intelligent home. In addition, an authentication method suitable for the intelligent home is suggested. Furthermore, the proposed system provides intelligent services by reflecting context information (user preference, user location, device status information, etc.) through a sensor network module and home server, providing transparent and secure service.

2002 A New Hardware Architecture for Operations in GF(2m)
abstract
The efficient computation of the arithmetic operations in finite fields is closely related to the particular ways in which the field elements are presented. The common field representations are a polynomial basis representation and a normal basis representation. In this paper, we introduce a nonconventional basis and present a new bit-parallel multiplier which is as efficient as the modified Massey-Omura multiplier using the type I optimal normal basis.

2000 Efficient Normal Basis Multipliers in Composite Fields
abstract
It is well-known that a class of finite fields GF(2/sup n/) using an optimal normal basis is most suitable for a hardware implementation of arithmetic in finite fields. In this paper, we introduce composite fields of some hardware-applicable properties resulting from the normal basis representation and the optimal condition. We also present a hardware architecture of the proposed composite fields including a bit-parallel multiplier.
