2026 Critical Digital Data Enabling Traceability for Smart Honey Value Chains
abstract
Data analysis and sharing are becoming increasingly important in creating value within food supply chains, including honey value chains. While some data is readily shared between supply chain actors, unlocking further benefits requires additional investments in digital data capturing, particularly for value-based claims such as sustainability, equity, and traceability from hives to customers. This study aims to identify critical digital data necessary for smart honey value chains to ensure traceability and transparency while fostering trust among beekeepers, intermediaries, and consumers. Semi-structured interviews with 30 beekeeping experts were conducted to explore their perspectives. The analysis identified four critical categories of databeekeeper data, apiary data, honey data, and apiary practices dataencompassing 21 specific data points essential for ensuring transparency, traceability, and trust. These findings provide novel insights into the digital data requirements necessary to support the honey industry's evolving needs for transparent and traceable value chains.

2025 Sustainability Affected by ICT Adoption in Enterprises
abstract
While the potential of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to enhance sustainable development is recognized, research on its contribution to sustainability remains fragmented. This study explores the impact of ICT adoption on the ecological, economic, sociocultural, and political dimensions of sustainability in Poland. It employs a survey of 390 randomly selected enterprises and uses Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) for data analysis. The findings reveal that ICT management significantly promotes all dimensions of sustainability. ICT quality affects ecological, economic, and political sustainability, while information culture enhances sociocultural and political sustainability. ICT outlay has a limited impact, primarily on ecological sustainability. This research provides valuable insights into leveraging ICT for sustainable development, offering guidance for both enterprises and policymakers.

2022 The Effect of the Covid-19 Pandemic on ICT Usage by Academics
abstract
The major premise of the study is the recognition that academic work has been disrupted and changed profoundly by the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims at identifying how academic work, especially research and teaching, as well as ICT usage to support this work altered during the pandemic and what predictions do academics have for their work after the pandemic. The survey questionnaire was used, and data collected from 476 academics around the world were statistically analyzed. The research findings revealed that teaching has been the main academic work during the pandemic, whereas research used to be the main work before the pandemic and is predicted to be the main work after the pandemic. Furthermore, the pandemic has rapidly accelerated the usage of various kinds of ICTs, i.e., communication apps, e-learning platforms, and social media to support research and teaching. According to the prediction validated by academics, this change will be continuing after the pandemic, while ICTs will be used to a lesser extent than during the pandemic.

2022 Consumer Engagement in Business Process Innovation-ICT Companies Cases from Poland and UK
abstract
The major premise of the study is a recognition that competitive companies increasingly engage consumers to create business innovation. This study aims to develop a framework for analyzing consumer engagement in business process innovation and apply this framework to ICT companies in Poland and the UK to analyze how they practice consumer engagement and what differences are exhibited between the two countries. It reports on 48 case studies where data were gathered through online observation, a qualitative analysis of collected data was undertaken, and data were analyzed by applying descriptive statistics and Chi-Square test. The suggested framework deals with four key aspects of consumer engagement in business process innovation, i.e., types and ways of consumer engagement, extrinsic incentives, and ICT supporting consumer engagement. This study advances the academic research on consumer engagement and provides a blueprint for ICT companies to design and improve their consumer engagement activities.

2019 The Contribution of ICT Adoption to the Sustainable Information Society
abstract
This article aims to advance information society research and practice by examining and understanding the information and communication technologies (ICT) adoption in enterprises for improving the sustainable information society (SIS). This study employs a quantitative approach to investigate how enterprises adopt ICT, and how this adoption influences different types of sustainability and improves the sustainable information society. The survey questionnaires were used, and data collected from 396 enterprises were analyzed to understand the correlations between the ICT adoption and the sustainability in the SIS. The research findings reveal that the ICT quality, ICT management, and information culture have a significant impact on the sustainability in the SIS, whereas the outlay on ICT does not have such an impact. This study advances the information society research and practice by developing a model to depict the dimensions of ICT adoption and their impact on different types of sustainability in the SIS.

2016 Factors Influencing The Success Of E-Government
abstract
This research focuses on the critical success factors (CSFs) of e-government. Its main purposes are to (1) explain the development of the methodology of CSFs for e-government, (2) present the practical implementation of this methodology in Polish public administration, and (3) to assess the preliminary results of the practical implementation. The article continues as follows. First, the article clarifies the concept of e-government and the CSFs for e-government. Second, the methodology of CSFs for e-government is explained in detail. Third, the article presents the preliminary results of the practical implementation of this methodology in Poland, at the local and state level of government. The article concludes with a discussion on research findings, implications, and avenues for further research. This work contributes to extant research by showing a holistic approach to the CSFs for e-government.

2013 The Holistic and Systems Approach to the Sustainable Information Society
abstract
The purpose of this research was to propound the conceptual model of a sustainable information society. First, the essence of a sustainable information society in the context of an information society concept is presented. Secondly, different kinds of phenomena and trends of sustainable information society development are identified and diagnosed. Thirdly, assumptions for the model of a sustainable information society are formulated. Finally, special attention is given to the presentation of the sustainable information society model. Discussion of research findings and future works for both researchers and practitioners complete the paper.
