2026 Socio-technical investigation of cyberbullying among adults: A qualitative content analysis of the legal responses to a complex social problem
abstract
Cyberbullying is a growing concern, intensified by the widespread use of the Internet, social media, and mobile technologies. Features such as anonymity, impersonation, and the instantaneous reach to vast audiences enabled by these technologies further amplify the risks associated with cyberbullying. Although an extensive body of literature has examined cyberbullying, there remains a notable gap in socio-technical discourse, particularly concerning how individuals engage with social and technological environments to perpetrate cyberbullying. Specifically, the nuanced roles of technology and the dynamic interplay among offenders, victims, technologies, and forms of guardianship are rarely explored in depth within the existing literature. This study addresses these gaps by analyzing 75 court cases of cyberbullying, applying the principles of the general theory of crime (GTC) and routine activity theory (RAT) through a socio-technical lens that focuses on the offender, the victim, the technologies involved, and guardianship. The findings reveal two distinct processes by which cyberbullying emerges: “fist-to-click” and “born-digital.” These categories provide novel insights into the trajectories of adult cyberbullying and contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon.

2025 Orchestrating digital technologies with incumbent enterprise systems for attaining innovation
abstract
In the late 1990s, most organizations adopted enterprise systems (ES) to automate their core business processes. The very same organizations are presented with a new wave of opportunities to innovate with digital technologies—technologies that purport to have diametrically opposed characteristics to ES. This study explores how organizations integrate digital technologies with their incumbent ES for attaining innovation. The study followed a qualitative approach and gathered data from four organizations consisting of six such projects. By applying a unique theoretical foundation, this study derives interesting insights into the orchestration process of ES and digital technologies for attaining innovation.

2024 Understanding the nature of information interdependencies and developing control portfolios for modularized information systems development projects
abstract
For better governance, information systems development (ISD) projects are often decomposed ex ante, using client requirements, to create self-contained modules. Following such a modular approach allows independent and efficient structuring of ISD project work. However, given the integrated nature of ISD work, maintaining information flows across the different modules within ISD projects is essential. Through an in-depth examination of six ISD projects, we discover four types of requirements information interdependencies across ISD project modules. Next, we identify appropriate control portfolios for governing the different types of inter-modular requirements information interdependencies. Results indicate that different types of requirements information interdependencies necessitate governance through varying control portfolios. Our study contributes to the ISD literature by identifying the nuanced mechanisms through which requirements information interdependencies could be better governed by applying appropriate control portfolios. Our study also offers significant practical implications for ISD project governance.

2019 Organizational readiness for digital innovation: Development and empirical calibration of a construct
abstract
The advent and proliferation of digital technologies purport to increase the innovation potential of most organizations. However, approximately 90% of new ideas never convert to new product or service deliveries because of the lack of organizational readiness. This paper conceptualizes a formative multidimensional construct to gauge organizational readiness for digital innovations. Such a construct would facilitate cumulative research on the role of digital innovation, while benchmarking to track organizational readiness. The proposed construct includes 21 measures, categorized under seven subconstructs: resource readiness, IT readiness, cognitive readiness, partnership readiness, innovation valance, cultural readiness, and strategic readiness.
