| 2024 | Can Stablecoins Foster Cryptocurrencies Adoption?abstractWith value pegged to fiat currencies, stablecoins can mediate the price volatility of cryptocurrencies. And yet, the concept of stablecoin and its impact on fostering individuals’ cryptocurrency adoptions remain unclear. To explore stablecoin’s role in a contextualized way, we adopted the Push-Pull-Mooring (PPM) model as the theoretical foundations. PPM Framework is especially suitable for our study because it allows us to use a pretest-posttest approach to study the changes of different factors created by introducing stablecoins and the impact of these factors on the continuous intention (CI) of adopting cryptocurrency exchanges. Our results suggested that less experienced cryptocurrency users might not understand immediately upon learning about stablecoins. They may even feel confused and become less motivated to adopt cryptocurrencies. Conversely, more experienced users may recognize the importance of stablecoins. Moreover, after the introduction of stablecoins, the power of different factors on CI has also changed. Therefore, cryptocurrency exchanges need to adopt more diversified strategies to engage users of varying experience levels. Cheuk Hang (Allen) Au, Wen Shou Hsu, Po-Hsu Shieh, Lin Yue |

| 2022 | Acquisition of IS Capabilities by Collaborating with Academics: A Case in A Non-Profit Organization in Hong KongabstractThe emerging technological trends have impacted both business firms and nonprofit organizations (NPO). For both of them to adopt emerging technological applications, the primary prerequisite is the acquisition of IS capabilities, which may not be challenging for business firms, but NPOs. In this paper, a case of academic-community collaboration between the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HK PolyU) and the Scout Association of Hong Kong (SAHK) is presented. The collaboration involves some students' capstone projects with Information Systems (IS) background to develop a range of technological applications in response to the training and activities of SAHK. From this case, several theoretical implications of IS capabilities and academic-community collaboration are highlighted, as well as practical implications for academics and NPOs. | 2020 | I.S. educational game: Adoption in teaching search engine optimization (SEO)abstractEducational games have been adopted in different disciplines in light of their various advantages such as engaging students and promoting learning attitudes, but their applications in Information Systems Education are relatively limited. In response to the needs for establishing new methodologies of Information Systems (I.S.) education, this study aims to explore the potential impact of educational games in I.S. education. We designed and adopted an educational game for teaching and learning of search engine optimization (SEO) based on previous articles about game-based learning (GBL). The game was played by a group of undergraduate students in a digital marketing course to learn SEO concepts. Survey and focus groups were used to collect their feedback to study the roles of educational games in students’ learning. Recommendations on designing and adopting educational games for students’ learning in Information Systems are also provided. Richard W. C. Lui, Cheuk Hang (Allen) Au |

| 2019 | Integrating Knowledge Management into Information Security: From Audit to PracticeabstractRepeated information security (InfoSec) incidents have harmed the confidence of people on enterprises' InfoSec capability. While most organisations adopt control frameworks such as ISO27001 and COBIT, the role and contribution of knowledge management on InfoSec was inadequately considered. The authors integrated the concepts of knowledge-centric information security and IT Governance (ITG) into an ITG-driven knowledge framework (ITGKF) for reinforcing InfoSec maturity and auditability of enterprises. The authors also tried to assess whether ITG can embrace proper knowledge circulation within the InfoSec community. The authors confirmed the positive influence of IT governance on knowledge-centric information security (KCIS) and information security maturity and audit result (ISMAR), the positive influence of KCIS on ISMAR, and the mediating role of KCIS between ITG and ISMAR. These indicated the significance of KM in InfoSec area. Based on the findings, they proposed possible changes of integrating KM in different InfoSec practices and audit standard.
