2025 Job Performance in Digital Work: Do Personality Traits Matter?
abstract
This paper investigates whether personality traits matter in job performance in digital work.A conceptual model is developed within the background of the big five personality traits theory and the boundary theory. This model is then tested and validated using structural equation modeling of the survey data in Australia. The study shows that agreeableness, conscientiousness, and extraversion significantly influence job performance while neuroticism and conscientiousness have significant influence on work-life balance. It finds that individuals' attitude toward digital work negatively moderates the influence of agreeableness on work-life balance and the impact of conscientiousness on job performance. The study reveals that work-life balance has a significant and direct influence on job performance. This study extends existing research on the relationship between job performance, work-life balance, and personality traits and enhances the knowledge of the interplay between digital technologies and individuals in digital work.

2024 Technology Affordances for Enhancing Job Performance in Digital Work
abstract
The increasing use of digital technologies leads to more contingent, flexible, and distributed work arrangements between individuals and organizations, resulting in wide adoption of digital work. This makes understanding the impact of digital technologies on job performance critical. This study investigates the affordance of digital technologies for enhancing job performance in digital work. A technology affordance theory-based model is tested and validated through structural equation modeling of the collected survey data. The study shows that using digital technologies can enhance job performance through improved coordination, communication, knowledge sharing, and decision-making. This study is the first in applying the technology affordance theory for exploring the role of digital technologies in job performance in digital work. The findings can lead to better formulated strategies and policies to facilitate digital technology use.

2021 A Perception-Based Model for Mobile Commerce Adoption in Vietnamese Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
abstract
This paper investigates the critical determinants for the adoption of mobile commerce (m-commerce) in Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the perspective of managers. A perception-based conceptual model is developed with respect to the technology-organization-environment framework. The conceptual model is then tested and validated using structural equation modelling on the data collected from 513 SMEs in Vietnam. The study shows that perceived benefits, perceived compatibility, perceived security, perceived organizational readiness, and perceived customer pressures are critical for the adoption of m-commerce. As the first study on the critical determinants for m-commerce adoption in Vietnam, these findings are useful for SME managers as well as policymakers in designing policies as strategies to promote the wide development and diffusion of m-commerce in SMEs in Vietnam and other developing countries.
