API management consists of the management of digital ecosystems of Web APIs (EAWs) in which different actors, services and rules converge around a set of technical, social and managerial skills and activities. This paper presents a exploratory study of the EAW Rapid with the aim of understanding the relationships between the socio-technical (ST) components of an EAW. For this purpose, SSN modelling was applied and its flow classification was extended with new categories. The Rapid platform is central to the exchange of information and/or artefacts, although it extends to other platforms not managed by Rapid. The influence of social network shapes certain S-T aspects of the Rapid platform, creating a dynamic and collaborative environment. Understanding and describing the EAW S-T network relationships is important because it enables the scope and objectives of API management to be defined, as well as the capabilities it should offer.

The proliferation of APIs has underscored the critical role of API Management in modern software ecosystems. While API Management quality has been a topic of interest for the last decade, there haven't been studies to map this key area. The primary objective of this work was to examine the definitions, measurement methods, and evaluation criteria used to assess API Management software quality, with a particular emphasis on methodological perspectives, API Management capabilities and quality attributes. By conducting a systematic mapping study (SMS), we managed to find 21 studies conducted since 2000 to date. We analyzed and categorized these work from a methodological standpoint in several dimensions, such as research types, outcome types and validation methods. From the API Management and software quality perspectives, we identified main API Management capabilities and quality characteristics studied. We also identified the extent to quality models support current research. Findings suggest that current research landscape is heterogeneous and primarily centers around technical analysis and specific solution development. Key quality characteristics included performance efficiency, reliability, functional suitability, and security, encompassing various API Management capabilities according with current industry trends. Finally, threats to validity were addressed, and we identified research gaps to encompass future research.

Web frameworks are tools for building web applications, through different mechanisms (components, classes, templates, descriptors, configuration files, etc.) these tools enable rapid application development. The usability evaluation to web frameworks can help developers in comparing and selecting them, and help to identify weaknesses and make improvements. Documentation resources and supports available on official websites, (books, tutorials, get started, videos, examples, community, blogs, forums, github, stack overflow, wikis, chats, mailing lists) generally are intended to assist and support the developer in using the framework, these elements should be analyzed as determinants of usability and quality from attributes, metrics and measures. This paper proposes a set of elements for evaluating the usability of support, from the analysis of available and published resources of 17 web frameworks, considered among very popular, recognized and used in web development communities. An experience of this proposal implementation is also presented.

The widespread use of mobile devices and the heterogeneity of the users involve changes for usability evaluating of mobile applications. It is important to have methodologies and tools to perform usability specific studies for this type of applications in which the context of use is constantly changing. It is necessary that the usability tests are transparent for the user, usability and context data are automatically collected, the test code are not intrusive in the tested application and the tests support the variability of the devices. To achieve the above features, this article presents a framework called FUsAM (Framework of Usability for Mobile Applications) which is extensible and can generate and integrate usability testing in mobile applications. The design and implementation approach is based on Software Product Line (SPL) combined with Features Oriented Programming (FOP) and Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP). A case study is also presented to prove the functionality.

This work introduces API/TVD, a tool that quickly and simply generates interactive prototypes/applications for Digital TV. API TVD is designed for TV producers, as it requires no programming language knowledge of any type. API TVD incorporates graphic templates for its interface mechanism based on criteria of usability and user friendliness. The following presents examples and demonstrations from the development phase, lines of code, and an evaluation of its usability.
