2022 Distributed Adaptive Containment Control for Coupled Reaction-Diffusion Neural Networks With Directed Topology
abstract
In this article, we consider the problem of distributed adaptive leader-follower coordination of partial differential systems (i.e., reaction-diffusion neural networks, RDNNs) with directed communication topology in the case of multiple leaders. Different from the dynamical networks with ordinary differential dynamics, the design of adaptive protocols is more difficult due to the existence of spatial variables and nonlinear terms in the model. Under directed networks, a novel adaptive control protocol is proposed to solve the containment control problem of RDNNs. By constructing proper Lyapunov functional and adopting some important prior knowledge, the stability of containment for coupled RDNNs is theoretically proved. Furthermore, a corollary about the leader-follower synchronization with a leader for coupled RDNNs with directed communication topology is given. In the end, two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the obtained theoretical results.

2022 A Cooperative Charging Control Strategy for Electric Vehicles Based on Multiagent Deep Reinforcement Learning
abstract
The growth of electric vehicles (EVs) significantly increases the residential electricity demand and potentially leads to the overload of the transformer in the distribution grid. Aiming to coordinate the charging control of EVs, this article formulates the EVs charging problem as a Markov game with an unknown transition function and proposes a cooperative charging control strategy based on the multiagent deep reinforcement learning. The uncertainties from the dynamic electricity price, non-EV residential load consumption and drivers’ individual behaviors are considered to construct the dynamic charging environment. Each agent contains a collective-policy model and an independent learner. The collective-policy model is introduced to model other agent's behaviors by approximating their power consumption. The independent learner is used to learn the optimal charging strategy by interacting with the environment. The soft-actor-critic framework is adopted to train the independent learner, enabling the proposed method to address the continuous state and action. Agents are trained with only the local observation and approximation, indicating that the proposed approach is fully decentralized and scalable to the problem with multiple agents. Finally, several numerical studies constructed based on the real-world data demonstrate the effectiveness and scalability of the proposed approach.

2021 Adaptive Observer-Based Output Regulation of Multiagent Systems With Communication Constraints
abstract
In the absence of assuming that all agents know the system matrix of the external system, for heterogeneous linear multiagent systems (MASs), this article resolves the cooperative regulation problem in the presence of communication constraints. Based on the mild assumption on the digraph, two novel adaptive protocols are presented to solve the cooperative output regulation problem (ORP) via state feedback and measurement output feedback subject to snatchy and asynchronous information exchange between agents, unknown time-varying delays, and probable information losses. Finally, some simulations are offered to demonstrate the validity of our results about the problem.

2021 Second-Order Consensus of Hybrid Multiagent Systems
abstract
This article studies the consensus of hybrid second-order multiagent systems (MASs), where the hybrid MAS is constituted by the continuous-time second-order (CTSO) and discrete-time second-order (DTSO) dynamic agents. First, a hybrid consensus algorithm is proposed, where a sample-data control is considered in the CTSO subsystems. Under the proposed hybrid consensus algorithm, the convergence of the hybrid second-order MAS matrix is analyzed. Second, a sufficient and necessary condition is proposed, which indicates that the controller parameters, such as coupling gains and the sampling interval, and eigenvalues of network topology have a significant impact on the system consensus. Finally, several simulation examples are presented to prove the validity of the results.

2021 Necessary and Sufficient Conditions for Consensus in Fractional-Order Multiagent Systems via Sampled Data Over Directed Graph
abstract
This paper studies the consensus in fractional-order multiagent systems over directed graph via sampled-data control method. A distributed control protocol using the sampled position and velocity data is designed. By virtue of the Mittag-Leffler function, Laplace transform, and matrix theory, some necessary and sufficient conditions associated with the sampling period, the fractional order, the coupling strengths, and the network structure to obtain consensus of the systems are obtained. Then, some detailed discussions are presented about how to select the sampling period and how to design the coupling strengths to attain the consensus of the systems, respectively. Lastly, some numerical simulation results are illustrated to reflect the availability of the theoretical analysis.

2019 A Stochastic Sampling Mechanism for Time-Varying Formation of Multiagent Systems With Multiple Leaders and Communication Delays
abstract
The time-varying formation problem for multiagent systems (MASs) with stochastic sampling and multiple leaders is studied in this paper, in which communication delays are taken into account. All the agents are divided into the set of the follower group and the set of the leader group. Under the proposed stochastic sampling mechanism for time-varying formation of the MASs with communication delays, the followers are driven to achieve time-varying formation where the center of the formation is the convex combination of the states of the leaders. In the theoretical analysis, sufficient conditions for the MASs achieving time-varying formation in mean square under stochastic sampling with multiple leaders and communication delays are derived. Moreover, some corollaries are also given in this paper. Finally, the theoretical analysis is verified by a given simulation example.

2018 Positive Edge Consensus of Complex Networks
abstract
This paper focuses on addressing the consensus problem of edges for both undirected and directed nodal networks whose edges are described by nominal or uncertain positive linear systems. The definition of line graph is given, and the similar properties and connections between the two types of graphs are established. Based on the rigorous theoretical analysis, distributed positive consensus algorithms are proposed, and the main results are given without utilizing the global interaction information. Subsequently, sufficient conditions for consensus with positivity constraint are given via the vertex number and the edge number of the original nodal network. Furthermore, according to the properties of Metzler matrix, we also solve the consensus problem for multiple edges which are modeled by uncertain positive systems. Some simulation studies are finally presented to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed results.

2017 Observer-Based Discrete-Time Nonnegative Edge Synchronization of Networked Systems
abstract
This paper studies the multi-input and multi-output discrete-time nonnegative edge synchronization of networked systems based on neighbors' output information. The communication relationship among the edges of networked systems is modeled by well-known line graph. Two observer-based edge synchronization algorithms are designed, for which some necessary and sufficient synchronization conditions are derived. Moreover, some computable sufficient synchronization conditions are obtained, in which the feedback matrix and the observer matrix are computed by solving the linear programming problems. We finally design several simulation examples to demonstrate the validity of the given nonnegative edge synchronization algorithms.
