2025 HengNet: An Ultra-lightweight Model with Two-level Reuse Algorithm for Seizure Detection and Prediction
abstract
Traditional models based on electroencephalographic (EEG) signals for seizure monitoring encounter difficulties in simultaneously optimizing accuracy, response latency, and computational load. These challenges hinder their deployment in edge computing environments, where real-time local inference is critical. To address these issues, we introduce a novel network architecture, designated as HengNet. This architecture integrates a Two-level Reuse Algorithm (TRA), which strategically reutilizes outputs from intermediate layers, considerably reducing the average computational load per inference—vital for scenarios requiring frequent inferences. When tested on the CHB-MIT dataset, this patient-specific model attains classification accuracies of 95.67% and 99.60% for seizure prediction and detection, respectively. Notably, it maintains an average computational load of merely 0.05 million multiply-accumulate operations (MACs) per inference and has a compact model size of 6.87 K parameters. These results represent a significant advancement compared with existing methods. Operating at a rate of 32 inferences per second, the computational load of the model for seizure prediction has been reduced by more than 19.4 times, and for seizure detection, by more than 6.4 times.

2023 WormTrack: Dataset and Benchmark for Multi-Object Tracking in Worm Crowds
abstract
Currently, multimedia systems and computer vision algorithms are increasingly playing a crucial role in biological research. However, due to the significant difference between macro and micro scenarios, it is impractical to directly transfer existing computer vision methods to the images captured by microscopes. Taking social behavior analysis of worm for example, it heavily depends on accurate and efficient Multi-object tracking (MOT) methods. Meanwhile, it faces great challenges due to the unique physical characteristics of worm, such as small size, highly uniform appearance, rapid deformation and overlapping movement. This paper studies on the challenges and existing solutions for MOT in worm crowds by building a well-designed dataset ("WormTrack") and a tracking-by-detection benchmark. We observed that the state-of-the-art MOT methods suffers from considerable performance drop on the new dataset. Therefore, we propose a customized MOT method for worm crowds by deeply understanding the physical characteristics of worms and scenes. The method is composed by an instance segmentation based detector, a multiple model fused Kalman filter based tracker and a multi-constraint based trajectory repairer. The experimental results demonstrate that our method can accurately track over 100 worms with almost identical appearance for a long period, which is exceptional compared to existing methods. We hope our work will attract further researches to explore more in this new field, and promote the crossing field researches with biology and medicine. 2003 The research of fuzzy modeling using multiresolution analysis
abstract
A method is developed to combine multiresolution analysis with fuzzy system to build dynamic system model. The proposed method consists of two parts, the construction and application of model. To construct the model, the signals are decomposed respectively to form data pairs on different scale and, the data pairs are used to construct the model on different scale whose output will be reconstructed to approximate the original signal. When this method is put into use, a certain length of past signal and current signal are used to predict the model output and, at next time instance, the past signal is push forward. This is a repeated procedure. The simulation shows the method is effective.
