2005 Silkworm Handling Robot System
abstract
This paper describes the development and experimental results obtained using a silkworm handling robot. This study was performed to establish a system for the handling of silkworms, and to make use of automated breeding to produce usable materials. Silkworms are soft and amorphous. Therefore, gripping them is extremely difficult, and requires a specialized handling system. The authors devised a gripping strategy, taking into consideration damage of the very supple silkworms, which was used successfully for the handling of silkworms.

2004 Research on silkworm handling robot
abstract
This paper describes the development and experimental results of a silkworm handling robot. Silkworm handling robot was developed for the purpose of automated breeding of silkworm larvae. The silkworm larvae are soft and amorphous. Therefore, gripping them is extremely difficult, and requires a specialized handling system. The authors succeeded in handling of a silkworm larva.

1986 Optical Fiber Facilities for Subscriber Loops
abstract
This paper gives an overview of the introduction and subsequent development of optical fiber cable and its application to subscriber networks enabling economical broad-band services, such as video and high-speed digital data transmissions. This paper also outlines NTT's developments on subscriber optical fiber cable technology-in particular, the five-fiber ribbon cable structure, mass-fusion splicing machine, and multifiber connector-in its ongoing endeavors to establish economical and flexible subscriber optical fiber networks which provide optical fibers to each subscriber.
