2025 Human-Centered Financial Signal Analysis Based on Visual Patterns in Stock Charts
abstract
The study adopted a human-centered perspective to research the financial markets, focusing on identifying variations in eye movement patterns between professional and non-professional traders as they analyze a series of stock charts. Eye movement data was selected as the analysis target based on the hypothesis that it represents a behavioral phenotype indicative of stock analysts' cognitive processes during market analysis. Disparities were identified by conducting variance analysis and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test on statistical metrics derived from eye fixations and saccades. Psychological and behavioral economic interpretations were provided to understand the underlying reasons for these observed patterns. To showcase the practical application potential of the human-centered perspective, eye movement data and human visual characteristics were used to construct visual saliency prediction models of professional stock analysts. Leveraging this human-centered model, we developed two practical application demonstrations specifically designed to support and instruct novice traders. Based on the above demonstrations, a training program was designed that demonstrates how, with ongoing training, the non-professional traders' ability to observe stock charts improves progressively.

2019 Understanding the Impact of Socket Density in Density Optimized Servers
abstract
The increasing demand for computational power has led to the creation and deployment of large-scale data centers. During the last few years, data centers have seen improvements aimed at increasing computational density - the amount of throughput that can be achieved within the allocated physical footprint. This need to pack more compute in the same physical space has led to density optimized server designs. Density optimized servers push compute density significantly beyond what can be achieved by blade servers by using innovative modular chassis based designs. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the impact of socket density on intra-server thermals and demonstrates that increased socket density inside the server leads to large temperature variations among sockets due to inter-socket thermal coupling. The paper shows that traditional chip-level and data center-level temperature-aware scheduling techniques do not work well for thermally-coupled sockets. The paper proposes new scheduling techniques that account for the thermals of the socket a task is scheduled on, as well as thermally coupled nearby sockets. The proposed mechanisms provide 2.5% to 6.5% performance improvements across various workloads and as much as 17% over traditional temperature-aware schedulers for computation-heavy workloads.

2014 Joint power control and component carrier assignment scheme in heterogeneous network with carrier aggregation
abstract
A distributed interference coordination scheme is proposed to alleviate cross‐tier and inner‐tier interference in heterogeneous network (HetNet), consisting of a power control strategy based on game theory to acquire both Nash equilibrium among femtocells and Stackelberg equilibrium between femtocells and macrocells. Component carrier assignment is the other interference coordination dimension for HetNet with carrier aggregation. The proposed method is a two‐dimensional interference coordination scheme combining power control and component carrier assignment. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and improvement of the proposed scheme.
