| 2025 | Robust Neural Rendering in the Wild with Asymmetric Dual 3D Gaussian Splattingabstract3D reconstruction from in-the-wild images remains a challenging task due to inconsistent lighting conditions and transient distractors. Existing methods typically rely on heuristic strategies to handle the low-quality training data, which often struggle to produce stable and consistent reconstructions, frequently resulting in visual artifacts. In this work, we propose Asymmetric Dual 3DGS, a novel framework that leverages the stochastic nature of these artifacts: they tend to vary across different training runs due to minor randomness. Specifically, our method trains two 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) models in parallel, enforcing a consistency constraint that encourages convergence on reliable scene geometry while suppressing inconsistent artifacts. To prevent the two models from collapsing into similar failure modes due to confirmation bias, we introduce a divergent masking strategy that applies two complementary masks: a multi-cue adaptive mask and a self-supervised soft mask, which leads to an asymmetric training process of the two models, reducing shared error modes. In addition, to improve the efficiency of model training, we introduce a lightweight variant called Dynamic EMA Proxy, which replaces one of the two models with a dynamically updated Exponential Moving Average (EMA) proxy, and employs an alternating masking strategy to preserve divergence. Extensive experiments on challenging real-world datasets demonstrate that our method consistently outperforms existing approaches while achieving high efficiency. Codes and trained models will be released. Chengqi Li, Zhihao Shi, Yangdi Lu |

| 2025 | PANTHER: Generative Pretraining Beyond Language for Sequential User Behavior ModelingabstractLarge language models (LLMs) have shown that generative pretraining can distill vast world knowledge into compact token representations. While LLMs encapsulate extensive world knowledge, they remain limited in modeling the behavioral knowledge contained within user interaction histories. User behavior forms a distinct modality, where each action—defined by multi-dimensional attributes such as time, context, and transaction type—constitutes a behavioral token. Modeling these high-cardinality, sparse, and irregular sequences is challenging, and discriminative models often falter under limited supervision. To bridge this gap, we extend generative pretraining to user behavior, learning transferable representations from unlabeled behavioral data analogous to how LLMs learn from text. We present PANTHER, a hybrid generative–discriminative framework that unifies user behavior pretraining and downstream adaptation, enabling large-scale sequential user representation learning and real-time inference. PANTHER introduces: (1) Structured Tokenization to compress multi-dimensional transaction attributes into an interpretable vocabulary; (2) Sequence Pattern Recognition Module (SPRM) for modeling periodic transaction motifs; (3) a Unified User-Profile Embedding that fuses static demographics with dynamic transaction histories, enabling both personalized predictions and population-level knowledge transfer; and (4) Real-time scalability enabled by offline caching of pre-trained embeddings for millisecond-level inference.Fully deployed and operational online at WeChat Pay, PANTHER delivers a 25.6\% boost in next-transaction prediction HitRate@1 and a 38.6\% relative improvement in fraud detection recall over baselines. Cross-domain evaluations on public benchmarks (CCT, MBD, MovieLens-1M, Yelp) show strong generalization, achieving up to 21\% HitRate@1 gains over transformer baselines, establishing PANTHER as a scalable, high-performance framework for industrial user sequential behavior modeling. | 2024 | Utility-Preserving Face Anonymization via Differentially Private Feature OperationsabstractFacial images play a crucial role in many web and security applications, but their uses come with notable privacy risks. Despite the availability of various face anonymization algorithms, they often fail to withstand advanced attacks while struggling to maintain utility for subsequent applications. We present two novel face anonymization algorithms that utilize feature operations to overcome these limitations. The first algorithm utilizes perturbation and matching of high-level features, whereas the second algorithm enhances this approach by also incorporating perturbation of low-level features along with regularization. These algorithms significantly enhance the utility of anonymized images while ensuring differential privacy. Additionally, we introduce a task-based benchmark to enable fair and comprehensive evaluations of privacy and utility across different algorithms. Through experiments, we demonstrate that our algorithms outperform others in preserving the utility of anonymized facial images in classification tasks while effectively protecting against a wide range of attacks. | 2023 | Enabling Trimap-Free Image Matting With a Frequency-Guided Saliency-Aware Network via Joint LearningabstractThis paper presents a strategic approach to tackling trimap-free natural image matting. Specifically, to address the false detection issue of existing trimap-free matting algorithms when the foreground object is not uniquely defined, we design a novel tangled structure (TangleNet) to handle foreground detection and matting prediction simultaneously. TangleNet enables information exchange between foreground segmentation and alpha prediction, producing high-quality alpha mattes for the most salient foreground object based on RGB inputs alone. TangleNet boosts network performance with a frequency-guided attention mechanism utilizing wavelet data. Additionally, we pretrain for salient object detection to aid in the foreground segmentation. Experimental results demonstrate that TangleNet is on par with the state-of-the-art matting methods requiring additional inputs, and outperforms all previous trimap-free algorithms in terms of both qualitative and quantitative results. | 2021 | Weakly Supervised 3D Semantic Segmentation Using Cross-Image Consensus and Inter-Voxel Affinity RelationsabstractWe propose a novel weakly supervised approach for 3D semantic segmentation on volumetric images. Unlike most existing methods that require voxel-wise densely labeled training data, our weakly-supervised CIVA-Net is the first model that only needs image-level class labels as guidance to learn accurate volumetric segmentation. Our model learns from cross-image co-occurrence for integral region generation, and explores inter-voxel affinity relations to predict segmentation with accurate boundaries. We empirically validate our model on both simulated and real cryo-ET datasets. Our experiments show that CIVA-Net achieves comparable performance to the state-of-the-art models trained with stronger supervision.
