2021 Accelerating subgraph matching by anchored relationship on labeled graph
abstract
Subgraph matching is one fundamental issue in the research area of graph analysis, which has a wild range of applications, including question answering, semantic search and community detection. Recent studies have designed some near-optimal matching orders and data indexes to reduce the unpromising redundant calculations. However, the influences of recalculation on some positive candidate vertices were ignored in the iterative process of subgraph matching. In this paper, the novel concepts of an anchored node pair and anchored relationship are proposed as the theoretical basis to solve recalculation on subgraph matching. Thus, two key aspects are considered to reduce the redundant and recalculated node pairs. The first aspect involves using the dominating relationship of the anchored node and its follower to prune the negative node pairs, and an index of matching-driven flow graph is built to minimize the positive candidate vertices by using a heuristic algorithm. The second aspect involves exploring the anchored relationship to analyze the recalculated region of a matching stream, and two novel strategies are designed to manipulate the intermediate results of the partial subgraph isomorphism to avoid revalidation in the subgraph matching process. Extensive empirical studies on real and synthetic datasets demonstrate that our techniques outperform the state-of-the-art algorithms.

2020 Automatic Rule Updating based on Machine Learning in Complex Event Processing
abstract
Complex Event Process (CEP) is very essential in Semantic Web of Things (SWoT) that deploy a large number of sensor devices, like smart traffic and smart city. CEP mainly solves heterogenous problems of stream data processing, where streaming data is connected to internet by a mass of wireless sensor devices. The core work of CEP is rule updating. Existing researches of rule updating are designed for static environments, and it is quite laborious to transplant those rules for dynamic environments. To enhance the portability of event rules, a method of automatic rule updating based on machine learning is proposed to learn the rules of a dynamic environment. Experimental results reveal that the proposed methods are effective and efficient.

2019 State-Dependent Interference Channel With Correlated States
abstract
This paper investigates the Gaussian state-dependent interference channel (IC) and Z-IC, in which two receivers are corrupted respectively by two different but correlated states that are noncausally known to two transmitters but are unknown to the receivers. Three interference regimes are studied, and the capacity region boundary or the sum capacity boundary is characterized either fully or partially under various channel parameters. In particular, the impact of the correlation between states on cancellation of state and interference as well as achievability of capacity is explored with numerical illustrations. For the very strong interference regime, the capacity region is achieved by the scheme where the two transmitters implement a cooperative dirty paper coding. For the strong but not very strong interference regime, the sum-rate capacity is characterized by rate splitting, layered dirty paper coding, and successive cancellation. For the weak interference regime, the sum-rate capacity is achieved via dirty paper coding individually at two receivers as well as treating interference as noise. This paper also provides the achievable region for the state-dependent IC with each state known at its corresponding transmitter.

2017 State-dependent Z-interference channel with correlated states
abstract
This paper investigates the Gaussian state-dependent Z-interference channel (Z-IC), in which two receivers are corrupted respectively by two correlated states that are noncausally known to transmitters and unknown to receivers. Three interference regimes are studied, and the capacity region or sum capacity boundary is characterized either fully or partially under various channel parameters. The impact of correlation between the states on state and interference cancellation as well as the achievability of the capacity is demonstrated via numerical analysis.

2016 Helper-assisted state cancelation for multiple access channels
abstract
This paper investigates the two-user state-dependent Gaussian multiple access channel (MAC) with a helper. The channel is corrupted by an additive Gaussian state sequence known to neither the transmitters nor the receiver, but to a helper noncausally, which assists state cancellation at the receiver. Inner and outer bounds on the capacity region are first derived, which improve the previous bounds given by Duan et al. Further comparison of these bounds yields either segments on the capacity region boundary or the full capacity region by considering various cases of channel parameters.

2016 Capacity Characterization for State-Dependent Gaussian Channel With a Helper
abstract
The state-dependent point-to-point Gaussian channel with a helper is first studied, in which a transmitter communicates with a receiver via a state-corrupted channel. The state is not known to the transmitter nor to the receiver, but known to a helper noncausally, which then wishes to assist the receiver to cancel the state. Differently from the previous work that characterized the capacity only in the infinite state power regime, this paper explores the general case with arbitrary state power. A lower bound on the capacity is derived based on an achievable scheme that integrates direct state subtraction and single-bin dirty paper coding. By analyzing this lower bound and further comparing it with the existing upper bounds, the capacity of the channel is characterized for a wide range of channel parameters. Such an idea of characterizing the capacity is further extended to study the two-user state-dependent multiple access channel with a helper. By comparing the derived inner and outer bounds, the channel parameters are partitioned into appropriate cases, and for each case, either segments on the capacity region boundary or the full capacity region are characterized.
