| 2023 | Flora: Dual-Frequency LOss-Compensated ReAl-Time Monocular 3D Video ReconstructionabstractIn this work, we propose a real-time monocular 3D video reconstruction approach named Flora for reconstructing delicate and complete 3D scenes from RGB video sequences in an end-to-end manner. Specifically, we introduce a novel method with two main contributions. Firstly, the proposed feature aggregation module retains both color and reliability in a dual-frequency form. Secondly, the loss compensation module solves missing structure by correcting losses for falsely pruned voxels. The dual-frequency feature aggregation module enhances reconstruction quality in both precision and recall, and the loss compensation module benefits the recall. Notably, both proposed contributions achieve great results with negligible inferencing overhead. Our state-of-the-art experimental results on real-world datasets demonstrate Flora's leading performance in both effectiveness and efficiency. | 2023 | Dionysus: Recovering Scene Structures by Dividing into Semantic PiecesabstractMost existing 3D reconstruction methods result in either detail loss or unsatisfying efficiency. However, effectiveness and efficiency are equally crucial in real-world applications, e.g., autonomous driving and augmented reality. We argue that this dilemma comes from wasted resources on valueless depth samples. This paper tackles the problem by proposing a novel learning-based 3D reconstruction framework named Dionysus. Our main contribution is to find out the most promising depth candidates from estimated semantic maps. This strategy simultaneously enables high effectiveness and efficiency by attending to the most reliable nominators. Specifically, we distinguish unreliable depth candidates by checking the cross-view semantic consistency and allow adaptive sampling by redistributing depth nominators among pixels. Experiments on the most popular datasets confirm our proposed framework's effectiveness. Likang Wang, Lei Chen 0002 |

| 2016 | Temporal and spatial information extraction from videos based on the change in length of the shadowabstractIn this paper, considering the atmospheric refractive index, we present an approach to extract the recording date and geo-location from videos, based on the alteration of the shadow length. The paper carefully takes different information (photographed date, the length of the selected object) of the given video into consideration and forms a comprehensive approach to extract the temporal and spatial information of the given video. On the basis of this approach, we analyze the shadow length data of a chosen object from a real video and extract the temporal and spatial information of the video. Compared with the actual information, the error is less than 1%, which proves the validity of our approach. Jian Zu, Likang Wang |
