| 2025 | INFP: Audio-Driven Interactive Head Generation in Dyadic ConversationsabstractImagine having a conversation with a socially intelligent agent. It can attentively listen to your words and offer visual and linguistic feedback promptly. This seamless interaction allows for multiple rounds of conversation to flow smoothly and naturally. In pursuit of actualizing it, we propose INFP, a novel audio-driven head generation framework for dyadic interaction. Unlike previous head generation works that only focus on single-sided communication, or require manual role assignment and explicit role switching, our model drives the agent portrait dynamically alternates between speaking and listening state, guided by the input dyadic audio. Specifically, INFP comprises a Motion-Based Head Imitation stage and an Audio-Guided Motion Generation stage. The first stage learns to project facial communicative behaviors from real-life conversation videos into a low-dimensional motion latent space, and use the motion latent codes to animate a static image. The second stage learns the mapping from the input dyadic audio to motion latent codes through denoising, leading to the audio-driven head generation in interactive scenarios. To facilitate this line of research, we introduce DyConv, a large scale dataset of rich dyadic conversations collected from the Internet. Extensive experiments and visualizations demonstrate superior performance and effectiveness of our method. Yongming Zhu, Longhao Zhang, Zhengkun Rong, Tianshu Hu, Zhipeng Ge |

| 2023 | Video2mesh: 3D human pose and shape recovery by a temporal convolutional transformer networkabstractAbstract From a 2D video of a person in action, human mesh recovery aims to infer the 3D human pose and shape frame by frame. Despite progress on video‐based human pose and shape estimation, it is still challenging to guarantee high accuracy and smoothness simultaneously. To tackle this problem, we propose a Video2mesh, a temporal convolutional transformer (TConvTransformer) based temporal network which is able to recover accurate and smooth human mesh from 2D video. The temporal convolution block achieves the sequence‐level smoothness by aggregating image features from adjacent frames. The subsequent multi‐attention transformer improves the accuracy due to its multi‐subspace for better middle‐frame feature representation. Meanwhile, we add a TConvTransformer discriminator which is trained together with our 3D human mesh temporal encoder. This TConvTransformer discriminator further improves the accuracy and smoothness by restricting the pose and shape in a more reliable space based on the AMASS dataset. We conduct extensive experiments on three standard benchmark datasets and show that our proposed Video2mesh outperforms other state‐of‐the‐art methods in both accuracy and smoothness. | 2020 | Learn a Global Appearance Semi-Supervisedly for Synthesizing Person ImagesabstractWe present a novel approach for person images synthesis in this paper, that can generate person images in arbitrary poses, shapes and views. Unlike existing methods just using keypoints' locations in heatmaps format, we propose to render SMPL model to UV maps, which can provide human structural information about poses and shapes. Thus, by varying the parameters of poses, shapes and camera in SMPL model, we can generate different person images with various attributions in a simple way, while in most cases we can only obtain new shapes of people by computer graphics methods. We train an end to end generative adversarial network with unlabeled data. As our SMPL parameters come from a pretrained model, we call our overall network semi- supervised. Our network keeps a global appearance during the fine-tuning stage of the target person, thus we can get a complete appearance of the target person, rather than the inaccurate appearance caused by inferencing without enough information. Experiments on Human3.6M Dataset and a self-collected dataset demonstrate the excellent effectiveness of our approach on person images synthesis for different applications. | 2018 | ROAD EXTRACTION FROM REMOTE SENSING IMAGES BY MULTIPLE FEATURE PYRAMID NETWORKabstractRoad extraction from high-resolution remote sensing images has been applied in many domains, but it is still full of challenges. We focus on the problem of slender roads, proposing a new multiple feature pyramid network (MFPN), which is composed of an effective feature pyramid and the tailored pyramid pooling module based on PSPNet. These two designs can address the sparsity of roads in remote sensing images via using multi-level semantic features. Experiments on remote sensing images from Quick Bird show that our MFPN model achieves competitive performance, especially for slender roads.
