| 2026 | Unifying Channel Independence and Mixing: Multi-Scale Patch Recursion for Global-Local Representation Synergy in Multivariate Time Series ForecastingabstractMultivariate time series forecasting underpins applications in finance, meteorology, and industrial operations. Yet two persistent hurdles remain: (i) models typically choose between Channel–Independent (CI) and Channel–Mixed (CM) formulations—each with distinct strengths—leading to large performance variance across datasets; and (ii) short-term dynamics and long-term trends are hard to model jointly, making it difficult to capture both transient bursts and periodic patterns. We propose FusionTimePatch (FTP), a purely MLP-driven, lightweight framework composed of three modules: (1) Dual-View Global–Local Fusion (Dual-GLF), which runs CI and CM views in parallel and employs multi-scale patch recursion to adaptively adjust the look-back window, thereby coupling global tendencies with local details; (2) Channel Enhancement (CE), which adaptively identifies and amplifies salient channel signals and diffuses them to others, improving sensitivity to abrupt events and latent drivers; and (3) a Linear Fusion layer, which unifies Dual-GLF and CE outputs to strengthen cross-view interactions and enhance robustness. Extensive experiments on multiple public benchmarks show FTP consistently surpasses state-of-the-art counterparts in both accuracy and efficiency, offering a scalable new paradigm for multichannel forecasting. | 2025 | Altering Query Prompting With Contrastive Learning for Multimodal Intent RecognitionabstractMultimodal intent recognition utilizes heterogeneous modalities such as visual, auditory, and textual cues to infer user intent, serving as a pivotal component in human-machine interaction. Existing approaches, however, often rely on unimodal paradigms or shallow multimodal fusion, failing to model cross-modal semantic dependencies and struggling to extract discriminative features from non-verbal modalities, limiting their robustness in complex scenarios. To mitigate these limitations, we propose an Altering Query Prompting with Contrastive Learning framework (AQP-CL) that dynamically aligns and refines multimodal representations. Specifically, the Altering Query Prompting (AQP) module introduces a tri-modality rotation attention mechanism, where textual, visual, and acoustic modalities cyclically alternate as queries in cross-attention operations. This approach addresses modality bias while strengthening interdependencies between modalities, ultimately yielding intent-aware fused feature representations that preserve discriminative cues. The Label-semantic Augmented Contrastive Learning (LACL) strategy generates augmented samples through the intent-aware query prompt and enhances feature discrimination via NT-Xent loss on label tokens. By integrating high-confidence textual semantics from intent labels, LACL refines auxiliary modality features through contrastive alignment, ensuring robust cross-modal representation learning. Evaluations on IEMOCAP and MIntRec validate AQP-CL's superiority, achieving state-of-the-art precision of 77.78% on IEMOCAP, a 3.41% improvement over existing methods. | 2024 | PGN: The RNN's New Successor is Effective for Long-Range Time Series ForecastingabstractDue to the recurrent structure of RNN, the long information propagation path poses limitations in capturing long-term dependencies, gradient explosion/vanishing issues, and inefficient sequential execution. Based on this, we propose a novel paradigm called Parallel Gated Network (PGN) as the new successor to RNN. PGN directly captures information from previous time steps through the designed Historical Information Extraction (HIE) layer and leverages gated mechanisms to select and fuse it with the current time step information. This reduces the information propagation path to $\mathcal{O}(1)$, effectively addressing the limitations of RNN. To enhance PGN's performance in long-range time series forecasting tasks, we propose a novel temporal modeling framework called Temporal PGN (TPGN). TPGN incorporates two branches to comprehensively capture the semantic information of time series. One branch utilizes PGN to capture long-term periodic patterns while preserving their local characteristics. The other branch employs patches to capture short-term information and aggregate the global representation of the series. TPGN achieves a theoretical complexity of $\mathcal{O}(\sqrt{L})$, ensuring efficiency in its operations. Experimental results on five benchmark datasets demonstrate the state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance and high efficiency of TPGN, further confirming the effectiveness of PGN as the new successor to RNN in long-range time series forecasting. | 2023 | WITRAN: Water-wave Information Transmission and Recurrent Acceleration Network for Long-range Time Series ForecastingabstractCapturing semantic information is crucial for accurate long-range time series forecasting, which involves modeling global and local correlations, as well as discovering long- and short-term repetitive patterns. Previous works have partially addressed these issues separately, but have not been able to address all of them simultaneously. Meanwhile, their time and memory complexities are still not sufficiently low for long-range forecasting. To address the challenge of capturing different types of semantic information, we propose a novel Water-wave Information Transmission (WIT) framework. This framework captures both long- and short-term repetitive patterns through bi-granular information transmission. It also models global and local correlations by recursively fusing and selecting information using Horizontal Vertical Gated Selective Unit (HVGSU). In addition, to improve the computing efficiency, we propose a generic Recurrent Acceleration Network (RAN) which reduces the time complexity to $\mathcal{O}(\sqrt{L})$ while maintaining the memory complexity at $\mathcal{O}(L)$. Our proposed method, called Water-wave Information Transmission and Recurrent Acceleration Network (WITRAN), outperforms the state-of-the-art methods by 5.80% and 14.28% on long-range and ultra-long-range time series forecasting tasks respectively, as demonstrated by experiments on four benchmark datasets.
