2025 Differentiable Room Acoustic Rendering with Multi-View Vision Priors
abstract
An immersive acoustic experience enabled by spatial audio is just as crucial as the visual aspect in creating realistic virtual environments. However, existing methods for room impulse response estimation rely either on data-demanding learning-based models or computationally expensive physics-based modeling. In this work, we introduce Audio-Visual Differentiable Room Acoustic Rendering (AV-DAR), a framework that leverages visual cues extracted from multi-view images and acoustic beam tracing for physics-based room acoustic rendering. Experiments across six real-world environments from two datasets demonstrate that our multimodal, physics-based approach is efficient, interpretable, and accurate, significantly outperforming a series of prior methods. Notably, on the Real Acoustic Field dataset, AV-DAR achieves comparable performance to models trained on 10 times more data while delivering relative gains ranging from 16.6% to 50.9% when trained at the same scale.

2023 Get3DHuman: Lifting StyleGAN-Human into a 3D Generative Model using Pixel-aligned Reconstruction Priors
abstract
Fast generation of high-quality 3D digital humans is important to a vast number of applications ranging from entertainment to professional concerns. Recent advances in differentiable rendering have enabled the training of 3D generative models without requiring 3D ground truths. However, the quality of the generated 3D humans still has much room to improve in terms of both fidelity and diversity. In this paper, we present Get3DHuman, a novel 3D human framework that can significantly boost the realism and diversity of the generated outcomes by only using a limited budget of 3D ground-truth data. Our key observation is that the 3D generator can profit from human-related priors learned through 2D human generators and 3D reconstructors. Specifically, we bridge the latent space of Get3DHuman with that of StyleGAN-Human [13] via a specially-designed prior network, where the input latent code is mapped to the shape and texture feature volumes spanned by the pixel-aligned 3D reconstructor [50]. The outcomes of the prior network are then leveraged as the supervisory signals for the main generator network. To ensure effective training, we further propose three tailored losses applied to the generated feature volumes and the intermediate feature maps. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Get3DHuman greatly outperforms the other state-of-the-art approaches and can support a wide range of applications including shape interpolation, shape re-texturing, and single-view reconstruction through latent inversion.

2023 A Comprehensive Benchmark for Neural Human Radiance Fields
abstract
The past two years have witnessed a significant increase in interest concerning NeRF-based human body rendering. While this surge has propelled considerable advancements, it has also led to an influx of methods and datasets. This explosion complicates experimental settings and makes fair comparisons challenging. In this work, we design and execute thorough studies into unified evaluation settings and metrics to establish a fair and reasonable benchmark for human NeRF models. To reveal the effects of extant models, we benchmark them against diverse and hard scenes. Additionally, we construct a cross-subject benchmark pre-trained on large-scale datasets to assess generalizable methods. Finally, we analyze the essential components for animatability and generalizability, and make HumanNeRF from monocular videos generalizable, as the inaugural baseline. We hope these benchmarks and analyses could serve the community.
