| 2026 | Beyond Foundation Models: Distilling Geometric Priors for Lightweight Monocular Depth Estimation in EndoscopyabstractIn recent times, geometric foundation models have demonstrated remarkable performance in depth estimation tasks, benefiting from exposure to large-scale data that enables the learning of intricate geometric structures and spatial dependencies. However, their large parameter sizes and high computational complexity pose significant challenges in meeting the efficiency requirements of downstream surgical applications. Consequently, the design of a high-performance yet lightweight monocular depth estimator has become a focal point of research. To this end, we harness the rich geometric priors encoded in geometric foundation models and introduce a novel trinity distillation scheme that transfers geometric knowledge across three complementary dimensions, namely spatial, spectral and gradient, into a compact depth estimator. To further enhance prediction quality, we develop a semantic distribution alignment strategy to effectively suppress pseudo-texture artifacts arising from the limited semantic representation capability of the lightweight estimator. Extensive experiments on the SCARED, SERV-CT, Hamlyn, and C3VD datasets demonstrate that the proposed method either surpasses or achieves comparable performance to previous state-of-the-art competitors, with a smaller model size and reduced computational overhead. | 2024 | Multi-Domain Based Dynamic Graph Representation Learning for EEG Emotion RecognitionabstractGraph neural networks (GNNs) have demonstrated efficient processing of graph-structured data, making them a promising method for electroencephalogram (EEG) emotion recognition. However, due to dynamic functional connectivity and nonlinear relationships between brain regions, representing EEG as graph data remains a great challenge. To solve this problem, we proposed a multi-domain based graph representation learning (MD$^{2}$GRL) framework to model EEG signals as graph data. Specifically, MD$^{2}$GRL leverages gated recurrent units (GRU) and power spectral density (PSD) to construct node features of two subgraphs. Subsequently, the self-attention mechanism is adopted to learn the similarity matrix between nodes and fuse it with the intrinsic spatial matrix of EEG to compute the corresponding adjacency matrix. In addition, we introduced a learnable soft thresholding operator to sparsify the adjacency matrix to reduce noise in the graph structure. In the downstream task, we designed a dual-branch GNN and incorporated spatial asymmetry for graph coarsening. We conducted experiments using the publicly available datasets SEED and DEAP, separately for subject-dependent and subject-independent, to evaluate the performance of our model in emotion classification. Experimental results demonstrated that our method achieved state-of-the-art (SOTA) classification performance in both subject-dependent and subject-independent experiments. Furthermore, the visualization analysis of the learned graph structure reveals EEG channel connections that are significantly related to emotion and suppress irrelevant noise. These findings are consistent with established neuroscience research and demonstrate the potential of our approach in comprehending the neural underpinnings of emotion. | 2023 | Benchmarking Large Language Models on CMExam - A comprehensive Chinese Medical Exam DatasetabstractRecent advancements in large language models (LLMs) have transformed the field of question answering (QA). However, evaluating LLMs in the medical field is challenging due to the lack of standardized and comprehensive datasets. To address this gap, we introduce CMExam, sourced from the Chinese National Medical Licensing Examination. CMExam consists of 60K+ multiple-choice questions for standardized and objective evaluations, as well as solution explanations for model reasoning evaluation in an open-ended manner. For in-depth analyses of LLMs, we invited medical professionals to label five additional question-wise annotations, including disease groups, clinical departments, medical disciplines, areas of competency, and question difficulty levels. Alongside the dataset, we further conducted thorough experiments with representative LLMs and QA algorithms on CMExam. The results show that GPT-4 had the best accuracy of 61.6% and a weighted F1 score of 0.617. These results highlight a great disparity when compared to human accuracy, which stood at 71.6%. For explanation tasks, while LLMs could generate relevant reasoning and demonstrate improved performance after finetuning, they fall short of a desired standard, indicating ample room for improvement. To the best of our knowledge, CMExam is the first Chinese medical exam dataset to provide comprehensive medical annotations. The experiments and findings of LLM evaluation also provide valuable insights into the challenges and potential solutions in developing Chinese medical QA systems and LLM evaluation pipelines. | 2023 | Wideband and high-gain BeiDou antenna with a sequential feed network for satellite trackingabstractBeiDou-3 navigation satellite system was officially opened in 2020. While bringing high-performance services to people around the world, the navigation system requires well-designed BeiDou antennas. In this paper, we propose a wideband circularly polarized high-performance BeiDou antenna. The antenna realizes wideband circularly polarized radiation through a four-port sequential feed network, and the phase imbalance of the feed network from 1.05 to 1.80 GHz is less than 7°. The manufactured antenna demonstrates a return loss of more than 13 dB and an axial ratio <3 dB over the entire global navigation satellite system (GNSS) frequency band. The right-handed circular polarization (RHCP) gain of the proposed antenna is greater than 4 dB in the GNSS low-frequency band and can reach more than 7.1 dB in the high-frequency band. Dimension of the proposed antenna is 120 mm×120 mm×20 mm, i.e., 0.54 λ o ×0.54 λ o ×0.09 λ o , where λ o is the wavelength of the center frequency. The proposed antenna connected to a GNSS receiver has tracked 12 BeiDou satellites with C/N 0 ratios of GNSS signals greater than 30 dB. Such a high-performance antenna provides a basis for high-quality positioning services. Zhuo-Lin Deng, Zhongyu Tian, Chenhe Duan, Pei Xiao 0004, Gaosheng Li |
