2014 A Phase-Based Audio Watermarking System Robust to Acoustic Path Propagation
abstract
Today, comparing audio watermarking systems remain a challenge due to the lack of publicly-available reference algorithms. In addition, robustness against acoustic path transmission is only occasionally evaluated. This jeopardizes the chances of digital watermarking to be adopted in the context of applications where such a feature is vital, e.g., second screen, audience measurement, and so on. In this paper, we introduce a rather simple audio watermarking algorithm, whose source code has been publicized for potential reuse by the watermarking community. We then complement this baseline system with three additional components, namely a psychoacoustic model, a resynchronization framework, and an improved correlation-based detector. Reported experimental results clearly demonstrate that the resulting high-fidelity audio watermarking system manages to survive the acoustic path.

2011 Efficient coherent phase quantization for audio watermarking
abstract
The weighted overlap add (WOLA) technique is routinely used in audio processing to avoid introducing audible clicks. This process introduces inter-dependencies between WOLA coefficients and it is thus necessary to revisit watermarking algorithms to accommodate for such dependencies and prevent introducing self-inflicted interferences. In this paper, we focus on an existing phase quantization based audio watermarking system. Instead of the original computationally expensive ad-hoc process for dealing with the inter dependencies between WOLA coefficients, we introduce an alternative strategy. Experimental results show a notable reduction of the complexity while maintaining robustness performances.

2010 Multimedia security technologies for movie protection
abstract
In this industrial exhibit, Technicolor will showcase various technologies developed to protect digital audio-visual material all along the media value chain, from production to distribution, including forensics services in case pirated content is detected. The exhibit will be organized around Technicolor's proprietary technologies in video fingerprinting and audio/video watermarking.

2007 False Positive Analysis of Correlation Ratio Watermark Detection Measure
abstract
A critical issue for many watermarking applications is the probability that the watermark detector incorrectly identifies an unwatermarked work as watermarked. This false positive probability is well understood for detectors that use a normalized correlation detection measure. However, in an effort to increase watermark robustness, a number of researchers have proposed detection measures that combine multiple normalized correlations. One such measure is the ratio of the largest normalized correlation to the second largest when an extracted vector is compared to multiple reference vectors. In this paper we analyze the false positive probability of the correlation ratio detection measure under a reasonable assumption about the distribution of unwatermarked works. We derive an analytic formula for the false positive probability and validate this with empirical data.
