2021 DatAgent: The Imminent Age of Intelligent Data Assistants
abstract
In this demonstration, we present DatAgent , an intelligent data assistant system that allows users to ask queries in natural language, and can respond in natural language as well. Moreover, the system actively guides the user using different types of recommendations and hints, and learns from user actions. We will demonstrate different exploration scenarios that show how the system and the user engage in a human-like interaction inspired by the interaction paradigm of chatbots and virtual assistants.

2017 Shortest-Path Graph Kernels for Document Similarity
abstract
In this paper, we present a novel document similarity measure based on the definition of a graph kernel between pairs of documents. The proposed measure takes into account both the terms contained in the documents and the relationships between them.By representing each document as a graph-of-words, we are able to model these relationships and then determine how similar two documents are by using a modified shortest-path graph kernel. We evaluate our approach on two tasks and compare it against several baseline approaches using various performance metrics such as DET curves and macro-average F1-score.Experimental results on a range of datasets showed that our proposed approach outperforms traditional techniques and is capable of measuring more accurately the similarity between two documents.

2016 A query language for multi-version data web archives
abstract
Abstract The Data Web refers to the vast and rapidly increasing quantity of scientific, corporate, government and crowd‐sourced data published in the form of Linked Open Data, which encourages the uniform representation of heterogeneous data items on the web and the creation of links between them. The growing availability of open linked datasets has brought forth significant new challenges regarding their proper preservation and the management of evolving information within them. In this paper, we focus on the evolution and preservation challenges related to publishing and preserving evolving linked data across time. We discuss the main problems regarding their proper modelling and querying and provide a conceptual model and a query language for modelling and retrieving evolving data along with changes affecting them. We present in details the syntax of the query language and demonstrate its functionality over a real‐world use case of evolving linked dataset from the biological domain.

2008 Multidimensional XPath
abstract
In Web applications it is often required to manipulate information of semistructured nature, which may present variations according to different circumstances. Multidimensional XML (MXML) is an extension of XML suitable for representing data that assume different facets, having different value and structure, under different contexts. In this paper, we consider the problem of navigating and querying MXML. Navigating and querying must take into account the additional features of MXML compared to XML. Those features stem from the incorporation of context into MXML. We introduce an extension of XPath called Multidimensional XPath (MXPath), which is suitable for navigating in MXML documents, and allows for context-aware querying. We present the syntax of MXPath, we provide examples demonstrating its use and investigate its semantics.
