2011 Dual interactions between multi-display and smartphone for collaborative design and sharing
abstract
We present a new way of dual interactions between multi-display and smartphone for collaborative design review and sharing among multi-users. It provides individual and cooperative interactions in immersive and non-immersive environments to decouple private and public spaces between multi-display and smartphone. Thus, it can provide different views among multiusers and make them communicate with each other more adaptively according to the shared contents. We will show implementation results by demonstrating digital product review and multimedia interactions among multi-users.

2008 Virtual and Pervasive Smart Home Services Using Tangible Mixed Reality
abstract
This paper proposes a new way of providing virtual smart home services using tangible mixed reality (MR), which provides more cost-effective and reliable visualization and simulation of the existing pervasive environment. One of the main characteristics of the proposed approach is capable of embedding virtual objects into the real environment such that it is easy to test the feasibility of the existing pervasive smart home. The paper also presents how to support those services by linking contexts to virtual objects and their tangible behaviors. We will show the effectiveness and advantage of the proposed approach by demonstrating a tangible smart home testbed. It has been also applied to the tangible virtual studio authoring and interaction.

1999 Network-Centric Feature-Based Modeling
abstract
Network and Internet technology opens up another domain for building future CAD/CAM environments. The environment will be global, network-centric, and spatially distributed. We present an approach for network-centric feature-based modeling in a distributed design environment. The presented approach combines the current feature-based modeling technique with distributed computing and communication technology for supporting product modeling and collaborative design activities over the network. The approach is implemented in a client/server architecture, in which Web-enabled feature modeling clients, neutral feature model server, and other applications communicate with one another via a standard communication protocol. The paper discusses how the neutral feature model supports multiple views and maintains naming consistency between geometric entities of the server and clients. Moreover, it explains how to minimize the network delay between the server and client according to incremental feature modeling operations.
