2026 LongVideoAgent: Multi-Agent Reasoning with Long Videos
abstract
Recent advances in multimodal LLMs and systems that use tools for long-video QA point to the promise of reasoning over hour-long episodes. However, many methods still compress content into lossy summaries or rely on limited toolsets, weakening temporal grounding and missing fine-grained cues.We propose a multi-agent framework in which a master LLM coordinates a grounding agent to localize question-relevant segments and a vision agent to extract targeted textual observations. The master agent plans with a step limit, and is trained with reinforcement learning to encourage concise, correct, and efficient multi-agent cooperation. This design helps the master agent focus on relevant clips via grounding, complements subtitles with visual detail, and yields interpretable trajectories. On our proposed LongTVQA and LongTVQA+ which are episode-level datasets aggregated from TVQA/TVQA+, our multiagent system significantly outperforms strong non-agent baselines.Experiments also show reinforcement learning further strengthens reasoning and planning for the trained agent.

2025 MultiBooth: Towards Generating All Your Concepts in an Image from Text
abstract
This paper introduces MultiBooth, a method that generates images from texts containing various concepts from users.Despite diffusion models bringing significant advancements for customized text-to-image generation, existing methods often struggle with multi-concept scenarios due to low concept fidelity and high inference cost. MultiBooth addresses these issues by dividing the multi-concept generation process into two phases: a single-concept learning phase and a multi-concept integration phase. During the single-concept learning phase, we employ a multi-modal image encoder and an efficient concept encoding technique to learn a concise and discriminative representation for each concept. In the multi-concept integration phase, we use bounding boxes to define the generation area for each concept within the cross-attention map. This method enables the creation of individual concepts within their specified regions, thereby facilitating the formation of multi-concept images. This strategy not only improves concept fidelity but also reduces additional inference cost. MultiBooth surpasses various baselines in both qualitative and quantitative evaluations, showcasing its superior performance and computational efficiency.

2025 H-MBA: Hierarchical MamBa Adaptation for Multi-Modal Video Understanding in Autonomous Driving
abstract
With the prevalence of Multimodal Large Language Models(MLLMs), autonomous driving has encountered new opportunities and challenges. In particular, multi-modal video understanding is critical to interactively analyze what will happen in the procedure of autonomous driving. However, videos in such a dynamical scene that often contains complex spatial-temporal movements, which restricts the generalization capacity of the existing MLLMs in this field. To bridge the gap, we propose a novel Hierarchical Mamba Adaptation (H-MBA) framework to fit the complicated motion changes in autonomous driving videos. Specifically, our H-MBA consists of two distinct modules, including Context Mamba (C-Mamba) and Query Mamba (Q-Mamba). First, C-Mamba contains various types of structure state space models, which can effectively capture multi-granularity video context for different temporal resolution. Second, Q-Mamba flexibly transforms the current frame as the learnable query, and attentively select multi-granularity video context into query. Consequently, it can adaptively integrate all the video contexts of multi-scale temporal resolutions to enhance video understanding. Via a plug-and-play paradigm in MLLMs, our H-MBA shows the remarkable performance on multi-modal video tasks in autonomous driving, e.g., for risk object detection, it outperforms the previous SOTA method with 5.5% mIoU improvement.

2025 Infinite-Canvas: Higher-Resolution Video Outpainting with Extensive Content Generation
abstract
This paper explores higher-resolution video outpainting with extensive content generation. We point out common issues faced by existing methods when attempting to largely outpaint videos: the generation of low-quality content and limitations imposed by GPU memory. To address these challenges, we propose a diffusion-based method called Infinite-Canvas. It builds upon two core designs. First, instead of employing the common practice of "single-shot" outpainting, we distribute the task across spatial windows and seamlessly merge them. It allows us to outpaint videos of any size and resolution without being constrained by GPU memory. Second, the source video and its relative positional relation are injected into the generation process of each window. It makes the generated spatial layout within each window harmonize with the source video. Coupling with these two designs enables us to generate higher-resolution outpainting videos with rich content while keeping spatial and temporal consistency. Infinite-Canvas excels in large-scale video outpainting, e.g., from 512 × 512 to 1152 × 2048 (9×), while producing high-quality and aesthetically pleasing results. It achieves the best quantitative results across various resolution and scale setups. The code is available at https://github.com/mayuelala/FollowYourCanvas.

2025 DiT4Edit: Diffusion Transformer for Image Editing
abstract
Despite recent advances in UNet-based image editing, methods for shape-aware object editing in high-resolution images are still lacking. Compared to UNet, Diffusion Transformers (DiT) demonstrate superior capabilities to effectively capture the long-range dependencies among patches, leading to higher-quality image generation. In this paper, we propose DiT4Edit, the first Diffusion Transformer-based image editing framework. Specifically, DiT4Edit uses the DPM-Solver inversion algorithm to obtain the inverted latents, reducing the number of steps compared to the DDIM inversion algorithm commonly used in UNet-based frameworks. Additionally, we design unified attention control and patch merging, tailored for transformer computation streams. This integration allows our framework to generate higher-quality edited images faster. Our design leverages the advantages of DiT, enabling it to surpass UNet structures in image editing, especially in high-resolution and arbitrary-size images. Extensive experiments demonstrate the strong performance of DiT4Edit in various editing scenarios, highlighting the potential of diffusion transformers for image editing.

2025 Follow-Your-Click: Open-domain Regional Image Animation via Motion Prompts
abstract
Despite recent advances in image-to-video generation, better controllability and local animation are less explored. Most existing image-to-video methods are not locally aware and tend to move the entire scene. However, human artists may need to control the movement of different objects or regions. Additionally, current I2V methods require users not only to describe the target motion but also to provide redundant detailed descriptions of frame contents. These two issues hinder the practical utilization of current I2V tools. In this paper, we propose a practical framework, named Follow-Your-Click, to achieve image animation with a simple user click (for specifying what to move) and a motion prompt (for specifying how to move). Technically, we propose the first-frame masking strategy, which significantly improves the video generation quality, and a motion-augmented module equipped with a motion prompt dataset to improve the motion prompt following abilities of our model. To further control the motion speed, we propose flow-based motion magnitude control to control the speed of target movement more precisely. Extensive experiments compared with 7 baselines, including both commercial tools and research methods on 8 metrics, suggest the superiority of our approach.

2025 AvatarArtist: Open-Domain 4D Avatarization
abstract
This work focuses on open-domain 4D avatarization, with the purpose of creating a 4D avatar from a portrait image in an arbitrary style. We select parametric triplanes as the intermediate 4D representation, and propose a practical training paradigm that takes advantage of both generative adversarial networks (GANs) and diffusion models. Our design stems from the observation that 4D GANs excel at bridging images and triplanes without supervision yet usually face challenges in handling diverse data distributions. A robust 2D diffusion prior emerges as the solution, assisting the GAN in transferring its expertise across various domains. The synergy between these experts permits the construction of a multi-domain image-triplane dataset, which drives the development of a general 4D avatar creator. Extensive experiments suggest that our model, termed AvatarArtist, is capable of producing high-quality 4D avatars with strong robustness to various source image domains. The code, the data, and the models will be made publicly available to facilitate future studies.

2025 InstantSwap: Fast Customized Concept Swapping across Sharp Shape Differences
abstract
Recent advances in Customized Concept Swapping (CCS) enable a text-to-image model to swap a concept in the source image with a customized target concept. However, the existing methods still face the challenges of $\textit{\textbf{inconsistency}}$ and $\textit{\textbf{inefficiency}}$. They struggle to maintain consistency in both the foreground and background during concept swapping, especially when the shape difference is large between objects. Additionally, they either require time-consuming training processes or involve redundant calculations during inference. To tackle these issues, we introduce InstantSwap, a new CCS method that aims to handle sharp shape disparity at speed. Specifically, we first extract the bbox of the object in the source image $\textit{automatically}$ based on attention map analysis and leverage the bbox to achieve both foreground and background consistency. For background consistency, we remove the gradient outside the bbox during the swapping process so that the background is free from being modified. For foreground consistency, we employ a cross-attention mechanism to inject semantic information into both source and target concepts inside the box. This helps learn semantic-enhanced representations that encourage the swapping process to focus on the foreground objects. To improve swapping speed, we avoid computing gradients at each timestep but instead calculate them periodically to reduce the number of forward passes, which improves efficiency a lot with a little sacrifice on performance. Finally, we establish a benchmark dataset to facilitate comprehensive evaluation. Extensive evaluations demonstrate the superiority and versatility of InstantSwap.

2025 Towards Multiple Character Image Animation Through Enhancing Implicit Decoupling
abstract
Controllable character image animation has a wide range of applications. Although existing studies have consistently improved performance, challenges persist in the field of character image animation, particularly concerning stability in complex backgrounds and tasks involving multiple characters. To address these challenges, we propose a novel multi-condition guided framework for character image animation, employing several well-designed input modules to enhance the implicit decoupling capability of the model. First, the optical flow guider calculates the background optical flow map as guidance information, which enables the model to implicitly learn to decouple the background motion into background constants and background momentum during training, and generate a stable background by setting zero background momentum during inference. Second, the depth order guider calculates the order map of the characters, which transforms the depth information into the positional information of multiple characters. This facilitates the implicit learning of decoupling different characters, especially in accurately separating the occluded body parts of multiple characters. Third, the reference pose map is input to enhance the ability to decouple character texture and pose information in the reference image. Furthermore, to fill the gap of fair evaluation of multi-character image animation, we propose a new benchmark comprising about 4,000 frames. Extensive qualitative and quantitative evaluations demonstrate that our method excels in generating high-quality character animations, especially in scenarios of complex backgrounds and multiple characters.

2025 Taming Rectified Flow for Inversion and Editing
abstract
Rectified-flow-based diffusion transformers like FLUX and OpenSora have demonstrated outstanding performance in the field of image and video generation. Despite their robust generative capabilities, these models often struggle with inversion inaccuracies, which could further limit their effectiveness in downstream tasks such as image and video editing. To address this issue, we propose RF-Solver, a novel training-free sampler that effectively enhances inversion precision by mitigating the errors in the ODE-solving process of rectified flow. Specifically, we derive the exact formulation of the rectified flow ODE and apply the high-order Taylor expansion to estimate its nonlinear components, significantly enhancing the precision of ODE solutions at each timestep. Building upon RF-Solver, we further propose RF-Edit, a general feature-sharing-based framework for image and video editing. By incorporating self-attention features from the inversion process into the editing process, RF-Edit effectively preserves the structural information of the source image or video while achieving high-quality editing results. Our approach is compatible with any pre-trained rectified-flow-based models for image and video tasks, requiring no additional training or optimization. Extensive experiments across generation, inversion, and editing tasks in both image and video modalities demonstrate the superiority and versatility of our method. 2025 A Motion is Worth a Hybrid Sentence: Taming Language Model for Unified Motion Generation by Fine-grained Planning
abstract
Existing LLM-based motion models fail to fully leverage large models' planning capabilities for motion-related tasks, exhibiting poor generalization, limited text-motion alignment, and an inability to perform multimodal condition joint driven motion generation. We argue that these issues arise from the modality gap and the highly coupled nature of motion tokens. To address this, we proposed the hybrid motion sentence, which is consistant of fine-grained motion decription and atomic body-part motion token that can bridge the gap between motion and text. To obtain a large corpus of hybrid motion sentences, we introduced a novel motion-to-text generation method that combines atomic motion operators with GPT-4o, resulting in 68.2 million fine-grained textual descriptions across diverse modalities. To reconstruct high-quality motion from hybrid sentences and make better motion-text alignment, we introduce Semantic-Aware Decoupled Motion Tokenization. Furthermore, we propose MotionUPG based on LLaMA, leveraging MotionWords dataset for both pretraining and instruction tuning. Our method achieves strong fine-grained text-motion alignment, impressive zero-shot motion generation, and is the first to support multimodal condition joint driven motion generation tasks.

2025 MagicScroll: Enhancing Immersive Storytelling with Controllable Scroll Image Generation
abstract
Scroll images are a unique medium commonly used in virtual reality (VR) providing an immersive visual storytelling experience. Despite rapid advances in diffusion-based image generation, it remains an open research question to generate scroll images suitable for immersive, coherent, and controllable storytelling in VR. This paper proposes a multi-layered, diffusion-based scroll image generation framework with a novel semantic-aware denoising process. We incorporate layout prediction and style control modules to generate coherent scroll images of any aspect ratio. Based on the scroll image generation framework, we use different multi-window strategies to render diverse visual forms such as chains, rings, and forks for VR storytelling. Quantitative and qualitative evaluations demonstrate that our techniques can significantly enhance text-image consistency and visual coherence in scroll image generation, as well as the level of immersion and engagement of VR storytelling. 2025 MagicStick: Controllable Video Editing via Control Handle Transformations
abstract
Text-based video editing has recently attracted considerable interest in changing the style or replacing the objects with a similar structure. Beyond this, we demonstrate that properties such as shape, size, location, motion, etc., can also be edited in videos. Our key insight is that the keyframe's transformations of the specific internal feature (e.g., edge maps of objects or human pose), can easily propagate to other frames to provide generation guidance. We thus propose MagicStick, a controllable video editing method that edits the video properties by utilizing the transformation on the extracted internal control signals. In detail, to keep the appearance, we inflate both the pre-trained image diffusion model and ControlNet to the temporal dimension and train low-rank adaptions (LoRA) layers to fit the specific scenes. Then, in editing, we perform an inversion and editing framework. Differently, finetuned ControlNet is introduced in both inversion and generation for attention guidance with the proposed attention remix between the spatial attention maps of inversion and editing. Yet succinct, our method is the first method to show the ability of video property editing from the pre-trained text-to-image model. We present experiments on numerous examples within our unified framework. We also compare with shape-aware text-based editing and handcrafted motion video generation, demonstrating our superior temporal consistency and editing capability than previous works.

2024 M-BEV: Masked BEV Perception for Robust Autonomous Driving
abstract
3D perception is a critical problem in autonomous driving. Recently, the Bird’s-Eye-View (BEV) approach has attracted extensive attention, due to low-cost deployment and desirable vision detection capacity. However, the existing models ignore a realistic scenario during the driving procedure, i.e., one or more view cameras may be failed, which largely deteriorates their performance. To tackle this problem, we propose a generic Masked BEV (M-BEV) perception framework, which can effectively improve robustness to this challenging scenario, by random masking and reconstructing camera views in the end-to-end training. More specifically, we develop a novel Masked View Reconstruction (MVR) module in our M-BEV. It mimics various missing cases by randomly masking features of different camera views, then leverages the original features of these views as self-supervision and reconstructs the masked ones with the distinct spatio-temporal context across camera views. Via such a plug-and-play MVR, our M-BEV is capable of learning the missing views from the resting ones, and thus well generalized for robust view recovery and accurate perception in the testing. We perform extensive experiments on the popular NuScenes benchmark, where our framework can significantly boost 3D perception performance of the state-of-the-art models on various missing view cases, e.g., for the absence of back view, our M-BEV promotes the PETRv2 model with 10.3% mAP gain.

2024 Follow Your Pose: Pose-Guided Text-to-Video Generation Using Pose-Free Videos
abstract
Generating text-editable and pose-controllable character videos have an imperious demand in creating various digital human. Nevertheless, this task has been restricted by the absence of a comprehensive dataset featuring paired video-pose captions and the generative prior models for videos. In this work, we design a novel two-stage training scheme that can utilize easily obtained datasets (i.e., image pose pair and pose-free video) and the pre-trained text-to-image (T2I) model to obtain the pose-controllable character videos. Specifically, in the first stage, only the keypoint image pairs are used only for a controllable text-to-image generation. We learn a zero-initialized convolutional encoder to encode the pose information. In the second stage, we finetune the motion of the above network via a pose-free video dataset by adding the learnable temporal self-attention and reformed cross-frame self-attention blocks. Powered by our new designs, our method successfully generates continuously pose-controllable character videos while keeps the editing and concept composition ability of the pre-trained T2I model. 2024 Bridging the Gap: A Unified Video Comprehension Framework for Moment Retrieval and Highlight Detection
abstract
Video Moment Retrieval (MR) and Highlight Detection (HD) have attracted significant attention due to the growing demand for video analysis. Recent approaches treat MR and HD as similar video grounding problems and address them together with transformer-based architecture. However, we observe that the emphasis of MR and HD differs, with one necessitating the perception of local relationships and the other prioritizing the understanding of global contexts. Consequently, the lack of task-specific design will inevitably lead to limitations in associating the intrinsic specialty of two tasks. To tackle the issue, we propose a Unified Video COMprehension framework (UVCOM) to bridge the gap and jointly solve MR and HD effectively. By performing progressive integration on intra and inter-modality across multi-granularity, UVCOM achieves the comprehensive understanding in processing a video. Moreover, we present multi-aspect contrastive learning to consolidate the local relation modeling and global knowledge accumulation via well aligned multi-modal space. Extensive experiments on QVHighlights, Charades-STA, TACoS, YouTube Highlights and TVSum datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and rationality of UVCOM which outperforms the state-of-the-art methods by a remarkable margin. Code is available at https://github.com/EasonXiao-888/UVCOM.

2024 COVE: Unleashing the Diffusion Feature Correspondence for Consistent Video Editing
abstract
Video editing is an emerging task, in which most current methods adopt the pre-trained text-to-image (T2I) diffusion model to edit the source video in a zero-shot manner. Despite extensive efforts, maintaining the temporal consistency of edited videos remains challenging due to the lack of temporal constraints in the regular T2I diffusion model. To address this issue, we propose COrrespondence-guided Video Editing (COVE), leveraging the inherent diffusion feature correspondence to achieve high-quality and consistent video editing. Specifically, we propose an efficient sliding-window-based strategy to calculate the similarity among tokens in the diffusion features of source videos, identifying the tokens with high correspondence across frames. During the inversion and denoising process, we sample the tokens in noisy latent based on the correspondence and then perform self-attention within them. To save the usage of GPU memory and accelerate the editing process, we further introduce the temporal-dimensional token merging strategy, which can effectively reduce the redundancy. COVE can be seamlessly integrated into the pre-trained T2I diffusion model without the need for extra training or optimization. Extensive experiment results demonstrate that COVE achieves the start-of-the-art performance in various video editing scenarios, outperforming existing methods both quantitatively and qualitatively. The source code will be released.

2024 Follow-Your-Emoji: Fine-Controllable and Expressive Freestyle Portrait Animation
abstract
We present Follow-Your-Emoji, a diffusion-based framework for portrait animation, which animates a reference portrait with target landmark sequences. The main challenge of portrait animation is to preserve the identity of the reference portrait and transfer the target expression to this portrait while maintaining temporal consistency and fidelity. To address these challenges, Follow-Your-Emoji equipped the powerful Stable Diffusion model with two well-designed technologies. Specifically, we first adopt a new explicit motion signal, namely expression-aware landmark, to guide the animation process. We discover this landmark can not only ensure the accurate motion alignment between the reference portrait and target motion during inference but also increase the ability to portray exaggerated expressions (i.e., large pupil movements) and avoid identity leakage. Then, we propose a facial fine-grained loss to improve the model’s ability of subtle expression perception and reference portrait appearance reconstruction by using both expression and facial masks. Accordingly, our method demonstrates significant performance in controlling the expression of freestyle portraits, including real humans, cartoons, sculptures, and even animals. By leveraging a simple and effective progressive generation strategy, we extend our model to stable long-term animation, thus increasing its potential application value. To address the lack of a benchmark for this field, we introduce EmojiBench, a comprehensive benchmark comprising diverse portrait images, driving videos, and landmarks. We show extensive evaluations on EmojiBench to verify the superiority of Follow-Your-Emoji. The code, training dataset and benchmark will be found in https://github.com/mayuelala/FollowYourEmoji.

2024 Attentive Snippet Prompting for Video Retrieval
abstract
The recent advance of video retrieval has been driven by large-scale visual-language pretraining models. In particular, the state-of-the-art approaches are mainly based on temporal extension of the well-known CLIP model. However, they ignore a critical problem in video retrieval, i.e., the text often refers to a small snippet in the corresponding video. Blindly aggregating all the frames inevitably reduces the discriminative capacity of the final video token to match the text token. Hence, these approaches are limited to retrieve complex videos with diversified contents. To tackle this problem, we propose a concise and novel Attentive Snippet Prompting (ASP) framework, which can dynamically exploit the text-relevant video snippet to boost retrieval. Specifically, our ASP consists of two simple but effective modules, i.e., snippet prompting and video aggregating. Given a pair of text and video, snippet prompting can smartly use cross-modal attention to construct a text-driven visual prompt, namely attentive snippet token, which adaptively describes the relevant video snippet of the text query. Alternatively, video aggregating can summarize all the frame tokens as a video token, for providing the global context. With cooperation of attentive snippet token and global video token, our ASP can effectively learn a robust and text-relevant visual representation for video retrieval. Finally, we evaluate our ASP framework on the widely-used benchmarks, where it simply outperforms a number of recent approaches with a large margin.

2023 SemanticAC: Semantics-Assisted Framework for Audio Classification
abstract
In this paper, we propose SemanticAC, a semantics-assisted framework for Audio Classification to better leverage the semantic information. Unlike conventional audio classification methods that treat class labels as discrete vectors, we employ a language model to extract abundant semantics from labels and optimize the semantic consistency between audio signals and their labels. We verify that simple textual information from labels and advanced pretraining models enable more abundant semantic supervision for better performance. Specifically, we design a text encoder to capture the semantic information from the text extension of labels. Then we map the audio signals to align with the semantics of corresponding class labels via an audio encoder and a similarity calculation module so as to enforce the semantic consistency. Extensive experiments on two audio datasets, ESC-50 and US8K demonstrate that our proposed method consistently outperforms the compared audio classification methods.

2022 Visual Knowledge Graph for Human Action Reasoning in Videos
abstract
Action recognition has been traditionally treated as a high-level video classification problem. However, such a manner lacks the detailed and semantic understanding of body movement, which is the critical knowledge to explain and infer complex human actions. To fill this gap, we propose to summarize a novel visual knowledge graph from over 15M detailed human annotations, for describing action as the distinct composition of body parts, part movements and interactive objects in videos. Based on it, we design a generic multi-modal Action Knowledge Understanding (AKU) framework, which can progressively infer human actions from body part movements in the videos, with assistance of visual-driven semantic knowledge mining. Finally, we validate AKU on the recent Kinetics-TPS benchmark, which contains body part parsing annotations for detailed understanding of human action in videos. The results show that, our AKU significantly boosts various video backbones with explainable action knowledge in both supervised and few shot settings, and outperforms the recent knowledge-based action recognition framework, e.g., our AKU achieves 83.9% accuracy on Kinetics-TPS while PaStaNet achieves 63.8% accuracy under the same backbone. The codes and models will be released at https://github.com/mayuelala/AKU.
