2022 ImputAccur: fast and user-friendly calculation of genotype-imputation accuracy-measures
abstract
BACKGROUND: ImputAccur is a software tool to measure genotype-imputation accuracy. Imputation of untyped markers is a standard approach in genome-wide association studies to close the gap between directly genotyped and other known DNA variants. However, high accuracy for imputed genotypes is fundamental. Several accuracy measures have been proposed, but unfortunately, they are implemented on different platforms, which is impractical. RESULTS: -based indices can be derived from standard output files of imputation software. Sample/probe and marker filtering is possible. This allows e.g. accurate marker filtering ahead of data analysis. CONCLUSIONS: The source code (Python version 3.9.4), a standalone executive file, and example data for ImputAccur are freely available at https://gitlab.gwdg.de/kolja.thormann1/imputationquality.git .

2019 Common Emitter Low Noise Amplifier with 19 dB Gain for 140 GHz to 220 GHz in 130 nm SiGe
abstract
This work presents an integrated low noise amplifier (LNA), based on an ac-coupled 7-stage common-emitter topology. An analysis on the basic transistor configurations is performed, to show the advantages of a common emitter chain for LNA designs. The circuit is intended for ultra-wideband wireless communication systems at 180 GHz (G-band) and offers a measured gain of 19 dB. The bandwidth of over 80 GHz is one of the highest reported. The simulated noise figure is 7.1 dB at 180 GHz and the group delay variation is below 7 ps. The input referred 1-dB compression point occurs above -30 dBm, while the total dc power consumption is 42 mW. The final chip occupies an area of 0.55 mm2and is implemented in a 130 nm SiGe BiCMOS process, which offers a maximum oscillation frequency fmaxof 450 GHz.

2013 A model based comparison of BiFeO3 device applicability in neuromorphic hardware
abstract
Two terminal devices with switchable resistance have been of interest to electrical engineers for a long time, but only in the last few years has this attracted widespread attention. Recently a BiFeOe (BFO) capacitor-like metal-insulator-metal (MIM) structure was proposed as a synthetic synapse in neuromorphic systems, implementing voltage waveform driven spike timing dependent plasticity (STDP). Using a new device model that faithfully reproduces measurements of BFO-MIM structures we analyze how the switching characteristic affects the STDP learning window. Our simulations indicate that the gradual increase in the resistance change of BFO MIM structures result in a robust STDP with a biologically realistic learning window, whereas a distinct threshold followed by a steep hysteresis curve produce a narrow learning window and inflict strict operating conditions. Therefore we conclude that the steepness of the current voltage hysteresis curve is a fundamental characteristic to consider when designing synthetic synapses for neuromorphic hardware.

2012 Waveform Driven Plasticity in BiFeO3 Memristive Devices: Model and Implementation
abstract
Memristive devices have recently been proposed as efficient implementations of plastic synapses in neuromorphic systems. The plasticity in these memristive devices, i.e. their resistance change, is defined by the applied waveforms. This behavior resembles biological synapses, whose plasticity is also triggered by mechanisms that are determined by local waveforms. However, learning in memristive devices has so far been approached mostly on a pragmatic technological level. The focus seems to be on finding any waveform that achieves spike-timing-dependent plasticity (STDP), without regard to the biological veracity of said waveforms or to further important forms of plasticity. Bridging this gap, we make use of a plasticity model driven by neuron waveforms that explains a large number of experimental observations and adapt it to the characteristics of the recently introduced BiFeO$_3$ memristive material. Based on this approach, we show STDP for the first time for this material, with learning window replication superior to previous memristor-based STDP implementations. We also demonstrate in measurements that it is possible to overlay short and long term plasticity at a memristive device in the form of the well-known triplet plasticity. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first implementations of triplet plasticity on any physical memristive device.
