| 2024 | Uncertainty-Aware Explainable Recommendation with Large Language ModelsabstractProviding explanations within the recommendation system would boost user satisfaction and foster trust, especially by elaborating on the reasons for selecting recommended items tailored to the user. The predominant approach in this domain revolves around generating text-based explanations, with a notable emphasis on applying large language models (LLMs). However, refining LLMs for explainable recommendations proves impractical due to time constraints and computing resource limitations. As an alternative, the current approach involves training the prompt rather than the LLM. In this study, we developed a model that utilizes the ID vectors of user and item inputs as prompts for GPT-2. We employed a joint training mechanism within a multi-task learning framework to optimize both the recommendation task and explanation task. This strategy enables a more effective exploration of users’ interests, improving recommendation effectiveness and user satisfaction. Through the experiments, our method achieving 1.59 DIV, 0.57 USR and 0.41 FCR on the Yelp, TripAdvisor and Amazon dataset respectively, demonstrates superior performance over four SOTA methods in terms of explainability evaluation metric. In addition, we identified that the proposed model is able to ensure stable textual quality on the three public datasets. | 2020 | An improved method for image denoising based on fractional-order integrationabstractGiven that the existing image denoising methods damage the texture details of an image, a new method based on fractional integration is proposed. First, the fractional-order integral formula is deduced by generalizing the Cauchy integral, and then the approximate value of the fractional-order integral operator is estimated by a numerical method. Finally, a fractional-order integral mask operator of any order is constructed in eight pixel directions of the image. Simulation results show that the proposed image denoising method can protect the edge texture information of the image while removing the noise. Moreover, this method can obtain higher image feature values and better image vision after denoising than the existing denoising methods, because a texture protection mechanism is adopted during the iterative processing. | 2015 | A Social Awareness based Feedback Mechanism for delivery reliability in Delay Tolerant NetworksabstractIn Delay Tolerant Networks (DTN), the resource utilization is decreased because of the limited resources and redundant copies. This paper proposes an improved Socially Aware Feedback Mechanism (SAFM). In this mechanism, the historical information of the encountered nodes are utilized to construct social links which indicates the level of social relationship between nodes. In the feedback process, acknowledgements are forwarded to the nodes whose Social Link (SL) is higher than a given threshold α. After getting the acknowledgements, nodes will delete the copies of messages which have been received by the destination nodes, so as to reduce the redundancy. In simulation, the threshold α is obtained to reach the best performance of SAFM. Compared with active and passive receipt approaches in an acceptable range of delay, SAFM improves the delivery probability, decreases the buffer occupancy and reduces the overhead. | 2015 | Fractional Extreme Value Adaptive Training Method: Fractional Steepest Descent ApproachabstractThe application of fractional calculus to signal processing and adaptive learning is an emerging area of research. A novel fractional adaptive learning approach that utilizes fractional calculus is presented in this paper. In particular, a fractional steepest descent approach is proposed. A fractional quadratic energy norm is studied, and the stability and convergence of our proposed method are analyzed in detail. The fractional steepest descent approach is implemented numerically and its stability is analyzed experimentally. Yi-Fei Pu, Jiliu Zhou, Yi Zhang 0018, Guo Huang, Patrick Siarry |
