| 2021 | Using Series Elastic Actuator as a Tool to Motivate Students Engineering Learning in STEM EducationabstractEngineering education is a difficult concept for student learning because the student must apply scientific disciplines and connect Abstractconceptual for a design solution to solve a problem. The exciting concept in Mechatronic engineering education is concerned with the basic laws concerning physical nature. Students will learn about machine design and controls, but it is hard to understand. This paper aims to design and develop a Series Elastic Actuator (SEA) as a mechanical tool to moti vate student learning in concepts of mass -spring -damping and closed -loop control systems based on the revised 5E model in STEM education. The students’ activities involve hands -on learning mass -spring -damping and the control systems of SEA. This learning approach helps students to have more interactive learning in a classroom. Moreover, it makes students systemically think and understand the relationship between theory and real -world application. Piyanun Ruangurai, Chaiyaporn Silawatchananai |

| 2021 | Designing a Project-based Plant to Enhance Mechatronics Students for Self-learning Embedded Control SystemabstractThe feedback control system laboratory is required to enhance the knowledge of enrolled students. However, the apparatus provided by educational company usually is high cost, needs a high- performance computer and the professional instructor to conduct the experiment. In this paper, the designing of project -based learning for self -learning embedded control system is proposed. The low -cost experiment kits for microcontroller -based control can be alternately solution instead of using virtual or remotely experiment. In this work, two different types of plant systems: air levitation system and serial elastic actuator are presented. Both are easy to construct and able to implement the controller with any microcontroller. The real-time operation system for embedded system is also introduced which required for industrial control. Based on project -based approach, there are four stages guiding students and teacher to follow up the content and assessment so that the objective of embedded control learning can be achieved within 16 weeks. | 2019 | An Investigation of Vocational Students' Attitude towards STEM Robotic ActivitiesabstractEngineering education is one of the most demanded topics in Thailand. With the traditional instruction, pre-service engineering teachers are not well promoted to learn actively. Based on this point of view, this study developed a series of active learning activities in corresponding to the Robotic based on STEM framework. This aims to help enhance students’ understanding on the robotics, functionality, and applications. This study documented perceptions of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) content and careers for vocational students participating in STEM activities focused on industrial robotics. The analysis of the answers from 578 students in vocational education attended the activities and completed the questionnaires that showed the results showed that student’s attitude after the activities were compared across gender groups (men=421, female=157). The finding of this study is not only fruitful for students, especially pre-service engineering teachers, but also shed light of the revolutionized teaching activities for other teachers in different fields. Since this is a very first implementation of the proposed framework, it requires more investigations and improvements in the future.
